JQuery :: Include 1.4 In A Xul Wizard, And The Xul Wizard Just Breaks?
Jan 24, 2010I'm trying to include jquery 1.4 in a xul wizard, and the xul wizard just breaks, with any error message in the error console.

View 2 RepliesIm using the jquery form wizard [URL] to create a form wizard. In one of the steps i need to populate some inputs based on the value of another input from a previous step.How can i do this? For ex: On step 1 i have two inputs. In one of them i need a time interval in days. On step 2 i have a datepicker witch should have the value of the current time + the number of days from the input in step 1.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a problem with the jquery formwizard plugin, when trying to add new steps by this code creates error in a sense that I can't click next, because the validate plugin validates the next form, even though the user didn't go to the next step yet.
Then all the other ajax drop down forms won't function properly in the new duplicated steps eventhough I used the .live() function What's wrong with my code? About form wizard, it divides your one form into alot of parts using span id as the name of the separate page and the class = step or step_submit as next step or submit page
<div id="frmWrapper">
<form id="signupForm" method="post" action="" class="bbq">

I'm using formwizard, and I tried to insert a dropdown into the form by putting this jquery code
$('#aog').change(function() {
if ($('#aog').val()==='yes') {
$.ajax ({
type: "POST",
url: "<?php echo base_url(); ?>index.php/register/mortgator",
data: "aog=" + $('#aog').val(),
success: function(msg) {
$("#bank").html(msg);
$("#signupForm").formwizard("update_steps");
}}); //end of ajax
} else {
$("#bank").html('');
}});
//end of aog event
And this php code
function mortgator(){
$this->load->model('MBank');
$q = $this->MBank->getbanklist();
echo '<label for="mortgator">Mortgator:</label><br/>';
echo '<select name="mortgator" id="mortgator" class="required ui-wizard-content ui-helper-reset ui-state-default error">';
echo '<option value="">Select a Mortgator</option>';
foreach ($q as $key => $list){
echo '<option value="'.$list['bankID'].'">'.$list['bankName'].'</option>';
} echo '</select>';
}
It is working, except that when you click next, other form input boxes would fade, but this input inserted via ajax would not have a fade animation. That's why I added this line of code to the html tag ui-wizard-content ui-helper-reset ui-state-default error but it appears that that does not work.
I want to make a popup helps the user select a value for an input field in a html form.
For example, if the field is for a customer code - the user can either type in the customer code directly, or use the popup to search on available customer codes using various criteria and finally select the customer code he or she wants to use, and have that customer code populate back into the original input field.
I have been looking around the various components in jquery but can't quite see how to do this.
I'm looking to make a form that could potentially span over several steps (or pages) and have the details submitted to an email address. How can I split the form into multiple steps, so step 1 includes 5 questions, click next, then step 2 includes the next 5 questions, then on submit it emails the details (from both step 1 & 2) to a specific email address in one email?
If anyone could point me in the right direction or give me a hand that would be great. I've spent ages looking for some answers.
Have a asp.net mvc project using jquery-ui-1.7.2. and BlockUI. When I changed jQuery version from 1.3.2 to 1.4.1, the CSS pertaining to the block ceased to render. The functions fired (verified by in-line alerts) and firebug had no complaints. Moved back to 1.3.2 and the blocker rendered perfectly.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis one is throwing me. I have a small piece of code that I am using to call a function in dynamic drive's accordion menu script. As long as I leave the alert() line in, it works. Comment it out and the call to expandone() doesn't go through. I must be missing something obvious, no? Here's the relevant part of the code (it is fired from $(document).ready() ):

I am using jquery append to add a div(a fairly long html string) to my content wrapper. But when appending it the lightbox function breaks. The site is at: [URL].The first box with the info filled in is an div that is in the html and the lightbox works. The second box is the one inserted with append and the lightbox is broke. The class attributes seem intact and I cannot figure out why it is broken.
View 1 Replies View Relateddt_save is a <form>, the submit trigger works as usual but when doing an Ajax request the code interrupts without any error. I put in 2 alert's just to check, only the first alert box appears when submitting the form. Also I can't find my request in Firebug's Network window (Firefox addon).
$('#dt_save').submit(function(){ alert('json request'); $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "json.php?action=extendable_select_insert", dataType: "json", data: "into=empfaengerliste&col=empfaenger&value=" + encodeURIComponent(document.getElementByID("data[empfaenger]_t").value), success: function(data) {} }); alert('done'); });
PS: Of course the requested PHP-File exists!
Just started getting into jQuery yesterday. Question: How can I place line breaks in alert box text?

How do I make line breaks in my xml file? This is what I got in my <head>:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function(){
$('.quotes').randomContent({xmlPath: "xml/quotes.xml", nodeName: "quote"});
});
</script>
As you can see, it takes a random quote from my xml file. But I have some long quotes which I want to line break like this:
<quote>
This is a verry verry verry verry <line break> ... long quote.
</quote>
I'm working with a Drupal site and am trying to stay within the results of a Drupal view.I'm using Cycle to rotate through a bunch of images created by this view, and I want to use an ajax "page refresh" to check for new content. I get the new content just fine, but then cycle breaks. Here is my function:
function ajaxRefresh(){
$.post('my_site',
function(data){

If I use remove() instead of hide(), or if I use trigger('update'), the pager drops all pages except the current one. I'd like to use remove(), and ideally the a row that is deleted would be replaced by one from the next page. I thought that trigger('update') was supposed to do that for me.[code]...
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a click function that works perfectly when you click so. As soon as there's an animation on toggle() such as Blind or Slide, it no longer toggles.
here's my code:
// Accordion
$('#accordion h3').click(function() {
$(this).next().toggle('blind');
$(this).toggleClass('ui-state-active');

When I change it to toggle() with no animation, works perfectly fine and I can click as fast as I want.
what should I do to say if it's already animated. is(":animated") ?
Below is a very simple jquery slideshow script which functions exactly as it should. But, if I link an image in the DIV set (See proposed change section) the slideshow breaks, instead of cycling through each image in turn it keeps trying to cycle the first image over and over. Script linking in header of HTML page:
<script type="text/javascript" src="script/jquery-1.2.6.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="script/slideshowsc.js"></script>
CSS on HTML controlling DIV position/opacity
#slideshow {
position:relative;
height:186px;
}
#slideshow IMG {
position:absolute;
top:0;
left:20px;
z-index:8;
opacity:0.0;
}
#slideshow IMG.active {
z-index:10;
opacity:1.0;
}
#slideshow IMG.last-active {
z-index:9;
}
DIV setup in HTML page
<div id="slideshow" style="padding-top:15px; text-align:center; width:540px; padding-bottom:43px;">
<img src="images/did-u-know1.png" width="499" height="186" border="0" class="active" />
<img src="images/did-u-know2.png" width="499" height="186" />
<img src="images/did-u-know3.png" width="499" height="186" />
</div>
Proposed Changi in DIV Code here
<div id="slideshow" style="padding-top:15px; text-align:center; width:540px; padding-bottom:43px;">
<a href="whatever.html><img src="images/did-u-know1.png" width="499" height="186" border="0" class="active" border="0" /></a>
<img src="images/did-u-know2.png" width="499" height="186" />
<img src="images/did-u-know3.png" width="499" height="186" />
</div>
Finally, Javascript / Jquery fired through body tag onload
function slideSwitch() {
var $active = $('#slideshow IMG.active');
if ( $active.length == 0 ) $active = $('#slideshow IMG:last');
// use this to pull the images in the order they appear in the markup
var $next = $active.next().length ? $active.next()
: $('#slideshow IMG:first');
// uncomment the 3 lines below to pull the images in random order
// var $sibs = $active.siblings();
// var rndNum = Math.floor(Math.random() * $sibs.length );
// var $next = $( $sibs[ rndNum ] );
$active.addClass('last-active');
$next.css({opacity: 0.0})
.addClass('active')
.animate({opacity: 1.0}, 1000, function() {
$active.removeClass('active last-active');
});
}
$(function() {
setInterval( "slideSwitch()", 8000 );
});
The jQuery breaks in IE8. If you click the first image on this page, either one of two things will happen the PNG file will load or nothing will happen. To understand compare in FireFox/Chrome.

I am using the Cycle plugin in several slide implementations on my website here:

I have recently upgraded the Safari browser on my desktop (Apple Mac Mini running OS X 10.5.8) to Safari 5.0.6 and noticed that the Cycle plugin completely breaks in this version of the browser. My laptop, a Powerbook running OS X 10.4.11, has Safari 4.1.3 installed and the Cycle plugin works absolutely perfect in this version.
I have upgraded the linked JQuery library to version 1.7 as hosted on the JQuery web server [URL] and have even gone as far as downloading the Cycle Lite .js file and hosting it on my own server. None of this solves the plugin breaking in Safari 5.0.6; seeing as I have no issues using the plugin in Safari 4.1.3, I am assuming that this is an issue with the Cycle code as it is being called in Safari 5.0.6
I am working on a web form which uses jquery validate for validation and a (custom-built) plugin for ajax support. My plugin supports metadata (using the jquery metadata plugin) for supplying information about the form and how the ajax request should be handled. The problem is that when I add such metadata to the form, jquery.validate tries to find matching rules and crashes because those don't exist when validating the form.
For example my form tag might look like this:
<form class="{this_is_just_some_random_metadata:true}" ...>
And this crashes jquery validate.
The problem is easy to fix by modifying the check function in jquery.validate, but I am wondering whether I might be missing something. Certainly I can't be the first guy to use the metadata plugin for both validation and other purposes.
Run the following on a select field but only works when I remove the multiple="multiple"
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a page [URL]... where I have to use a jquery function to stretch the body to the user's window height if it isn't already.
In the same code I also use a condition that if the body is bigger than the user's window, the content has a padding to stop it going over the grass.
The reason I need to do the resize is because I have a background image that needs to sit at the very bottom of the page (with no bar or gap below it). The reason the padding can only exist when the body is bigger than the window is because it will put a scrollbar on pages that shouldn't have them.
It works great, but the only trouble is that if somebody decides to resize their window on a page that fits in it - it breaks.

I wonder if jquery or javascript has the function adding line breaks which can be similar to nl2br() in PHP? This is the info i want to grab from a database, PHP will add line breaks (<br/>) when it is passed into nl2br(),

I have an image that I start out with opacity = 0. Then when I rollover the image area the opacity is set to 1 so I can see the image, and when I roll off of the image the opacity is set back to 0:
This works fine. But the image has an image map that defines a small hot spot. When I roll over the hot spot the image hover state is interrupted and the image goes away. Does anyone know how I can keep the image hover state active when rolling over the image hot spot?
New to jQuery and Validation so please go easy :) The issue: If I validate more than one field with 'phoneUS: true' it breaks jQ Validation and no longer validates anything at all.

From the little I've read in this plugin's source code, ajaxSubmit() switches to "iframe mode" whenever it detects a file link in the form. The file is uploaded fine, but the server, which normally replies with different content. based on HTTP_X_REQUESTED_WITH header, fails to do its thing. This header is normally set to "XMLHttpRequest" on normal jQuery .ajax() calls.
The server I'm running is on rails, and I'm using the "request.xhr?" test.
I admit I'm not too familiar with iframes (or jQuery, for that matter:), but surely there must be a way to get around this, so that this can act as a simple drop-in replacement. Should I be looking at other headers, like "Accepts" or the kind, or should the plugin (or my code) be forcing the HTTP_X_REQUESTED_WITH header?
