I'm new to Javascript so this might be a real easy fix. But I'm trying to figure out a way to reformat the date that jQuery's datepicker pulls up. I want it formatted to yyyy-mm-dd so I can move it with PHP into my MySQL database. This seems like it will be the easiest way, there's even a couple of bits within the jQuery website about how to do this. They provide a code, but I can't figure out how or where to apply the code. I've tried both within and just underneath the call script on the page, but nothing. Here's one of the codes that I've found listed over the web:

My datepicker works well except that the date it outputs in my input field is like mm-dd-yy, whereas I want dd-mm-yy. I tried to use formatDate :

The datepicker allows a default date to be set in a format such as "+7d" or even "+1m +7d", etc... However, is it possible to allow the user to input in this format as well directly into the input field that is defined as a datepicker? It looks like there is validation happening on each keystroke which is limiting what character classes can be entered.

I'm using the datepicker and found that after selecting the date it would be great to have the cursor go to the field that the date was entered in. The cursor goes to the top of the page currently. how to control that? I guess it's a matter of setting focus after the datepicker function finishes but I'm not sure where that is.

I have called a calendar icon file from a script on the form - this works except IE, where I get the "x" for image. I prefer to call it from the widget defaults. I have downloaded the themeroller version, including datepicker. The defaults regarding button image that came with the download are:

Note the missing button image from the icons png that comes with the download. I can see that other widgets use those and that there is a calendar icon, but how do I go about calling that supplied icon calendar onto the page by using "buttonimage:"" "? I suspect there may be more to it...but cannot follow it through.

I've been searching for about 3 days on this topic. I'm trying to get a template field inside of an ASP.Net detailsview control inside of an ajax updatepanel to work with the jquery datepicker. Very frustrating! I'm using VB with VS 2010. I can get the datepicker to work fine with a simple text box inside of an update panel but when I put it inside of a detailsview control it stops working.

On my work in progress link, I have two players on one page that just replace each other. The problem is with the left and right navigation arrows on the picture viewer. When you switch to the video player (grey video button on below player) the navigation arrows remain, I want them to only appear on the picture viewer. I think I can do this using z-index in css but need to give the two arrows some id's so I can select them. I can't seem to work it out in jquery! How to give the two images id's (see code below) or even better, make them only appear when you are on the picture viewer.

Situation:I have a very long page divided into many sections vertical-wise marked by bookmarks, say pageX.html#s1 to s10. I need to show the section inside an iframe (iFrame1) on the mainpage (mainpage.html). I am thinking of having 4 buttons, sitting on the mainpage, to help navigate between these sections on pageX, namely NEXT, PREVIOUS, TOP, END.condition of the frame, fixed width/height, no scroll, no border.Very new to javascript but need this code to make a page work for BIZ.
