I have a drop down selection box with items in it. I need to be able to pass the selected item through using an onclick event for the "Submit" button. Is this possible?
I have a Javascript that is calling a div to popup. This div is the drop down selector. I want the user to click a button to make the drop down appear, then they must select an item in the list and then hit submit. The submit button being clicked I need to bring in the selected value from the drop down and use it in the script that originally told the div to pop up (this is the first button that the user clicks, it actually runs the script which passes 2 variables, and is basically waiting on the drop down selection to save into a 3rd variable, which will then call a PageMethod).
I have
function AddTemplateToUUT(uutnumber,testerid){
var templatename=SelectTemplateToAssign();
PageMethods.AddTemplateToUUT(testerid,uutnumber,templatename,CallbackDiv,CallbackErrorAlert,'divchecklistarea');
ShowSelection('divtemplateblock','hide');

I'm trying to integrate a scroll button that scrolls down an unordered list by a certain amount when clicked. To be more specific, I already have the list in a scrollable box, but I need to know how to make a div or image that when clicked, executes the function that scrolls the list down.

I'm just a starter and I'm looking for a function I can't find.
What I want:
I want the row number of the row i clicked of the item list.
For instance I click on third row then I want that var i returns 2. code...
I am looking for a way to add an id attribute to a div element I append to my document so that i can find the id later and delete it. So far, no luck with jquery .each loop trying to assign unique value and add incrementing value to each of them. In my code, they all seem to have the same id and when I click again it just appends the same value again to all of them.
//first I add a title to the list using append.
function addTitle () {
$('.myList-box').append('<div class="mylistitem"><div class="mylistitem-image"><img width="30" height="40" src="[URL]small.aspx?TitleID=' + titleid + '"/></div><div class="mylistitem-title">' + title + '</div><div class="mylistitem-options"><a href="javascript:removetitle();">Delete From List</a></div>');
}
// then I need a click function, that indexes all the current .mylistitem(s) and allows me to find the id I am clicking on so I can delete it!
function removetitle() {
$(".mylistitem").each(function(i) {
this.id = this.id + "_" + i;
});
var item = $(".mylistitem").attr("id");
alert(item);
}

I have a form with two buttons: "Delete" and "View". A checkbox is required for all actions. Validation happens when a button is clicked. If it's "View", it is just a normal operation.
However, if it's "Delete", if the form is valid, it then needs to show a confirmation before form submission via custom handler (submitHandler). submitHandler: function(form) { if (confirmDelete()) { form.submit (); } }
Problem: How do I know if the button is Edit or Delete inside submitHandler? The function above open the dialog even for "View" button.

I am a PHP programmer and new to Javascript and jQuery and I have tried about 20 examples/tutorials and cannot seem to get even close to what I want.I have a form (PHP/MySQL) with a list of subjects I got from my database, and then create a set of radio buttons from that list. And based on what radio button they select, I need to pass that variable to a div (at least that's what I want to use) and then show a list of videos that match the radio buttons value. I don't care if its a get or post or other.I tried to use GET or POST so I can use that value for my PHP/MySQL lists.I am open to any suggestions/tutorials, etc.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a couple of problems that I cannot figure out how to do.
1. I'm trying to create a list where clickable items are visible on a page and then when clicked they expand to read a text file and stay expanded until I click them again to collapse. I've got this partially working except when I click on the item now(machine1 for example), the item I clicked on is replaced by html/txt file(machine1_output.html). Then the links are not available unless I hit the back button in the browser. Instead I want them both displayed and I want to be able to see all the items in the list and have the items expanded too. The reason for this is I want to be able to click all the links, have them display what's in the html/text file and be able to do a CTRL+F to search for an item. Is this possible?
2. When I add a third item(machine3 below) to my list none of the items are clickable. code...
I awhen it comes to "developing" jQuery but I am trying to do something that is seemingly something simple but I can't for the life of me, figure out the best way to do it.
http:[url].....
Here, you'll see the area below the navigation that has five buttons which are supposed to help scroll between the five associated divs.All I want to do is hide the currently shown div and then slide in the div associated with the button clicked.http:[url].....Here is what the animation is SUPPOSED to look like but the problem is is that the correct one uses Prototype and I am trying to use only one library and jQuery is the most suitable because I use it for other effects in the site and jQuery and Prototype obviously don't mesh well.
I have a list of records with link with each record
I have like this table structure:
After that dynamic tr and td are created which list the name of cateogy and its image
<a id is dynamic i want when i click this image link i get the value of which link is clicked
I'm having trouble getting a selector working. Probably best just to give you some example code:
HTML
<input type='button' class='test' value='Button Name'>
<div>
<a href='' class='buttonLink' />Click me</a>
</div>
Jquery
$(.buttonLink).click(function() { $(this).closest(':button.test').addClass('testclass'); });
Form that code I would expect the class of 'testclass' to be applied to the button after the link is clicked, but It doesn't seem to work. This is a somewhat contrived example. In my real application I have a form with several collapsable/expandable sections. If the fields in those form sections have values when the page loads, the section needs to be expanded, and the expand/collapse button needs to have a class of 'expaned' applied to it, if not it needs to be hidden. I can check the form fields and show the div if needed without any problem, but I can't seem to figure out how to work out the selector so I can add the class to the button.
Could anyone please tell me how to make a button look like "being clicked"? A button picture always looks static, though a link is associated with it.
