JQuery :: Getting Plugin Within A JSON Callback Function?

Oct 8, 2010

I am using a json from a Google spreadsheet and a jquery plugin which is called throught this HTML line <ul id="example">.The thing is that when I dynamically append elements to the <ul id="example"> from within the JSON callback function, these are not recognized by the jquery plugin

Code:

<form>
<ul id="example">BLA BLA BLA</ul>
</form>

[code]....

If I insert an <ul id="example"> plus some <li> in the HTML code the plugin works perfect If I insert dynamically some <li> to the <ul id="example"> throught a javascrypt function before executing the callback (...json-in-script&callback=...) also work perfect.But when I insert dynamically the <li> elements within the callback function (in my case: cm_loadMapJSON) does not work well.

Jquery :: GetJSON() Assigning JSON Returned To An Array/var Outside Callback Function?

Oct 12, 2010

I'm trying to assign the values from the JSON data returned when I run this code into an array that's outside the callback function. The data is multidimensional, and I have been able to use this data within the callback function. However I want to use it outside that function. i.e. the jsdata returned in the code below is to be used outside the function

Code:
$.getJSON('../fxns/status.php',function(jsdata){
//do some stuff with JSON data or pass to global variable[code]..........

JQuery :: Malsup Form Plugin And The JSON Returned From A Form Submission: The Error Callback Is Always Called?

Aug 19, 2010

I'm having troubles with an existing J2EE application (which uses Dojo) and in which I'm gradually introducing jQuery. The specific issue is with the malsup Form plugin and the JSON returned from a form submission: the error callback is always called, regardless of what happens on the server side, and the error is always "parsererror". I'm using jQuery 1.4.2 and the 2.45 version of the malsup Form plugin.
For example, given the following code:

$(document).ready(function() {
var options = {
dataType: 'json',[code]....

the server receives the submission and handles it without errors, then in the browser I always get the same alert from the processAddressEditSubmitError() function, with an "Invalid JSON" message:

pStatus=parsererror
pErrorText=Invalid JSON: {"nickname":"trytrez","success":"success"}

However, the JSON looks OK for me (and http:[url]...agrees that it is valid).

JQuery :: Star-rating Plugin Callback Function Throwing Error?

Code:

However, once the callback is included I get an error I've been trying to track down for the past day and a half. In IE the error thrown is "Object doesn't support this property or method" on Line 100 character 4. In my JS debugger the plugin breaks on line 99

JQuery :: Callback Not Invoked With JSON Response In 1.4.1?

Jan 30, 2010

I've been hitting a strange bug where callbacks are not invoked when a JSON response is returned from an AJAX call under jQuery 1.4.1. I just upgraded my app; this was working perfectly pre-1.4.

I do specify the return type as "json" when I invoke $.post . When a simple JSON string like "false" is returned, the callback is invoked. It seems to fail with more complex types, specifically with JSON objects, i.e., {"a":1, "b":5} .

If it helps, I'm running Firefox 3.5 on Ubuntu. In my test environment, the only installed extension is Firebug.

JQuery :: JSON Callback Not Working In Safari / Opera And IE7

Jul 6, 2011

I am looking for a solution for many days: my callback - function works well in firefox 5, IE8, but not in safari, opera, IE7 etc. The function "checken" is not executed. There are no error messages in the debugger of safari or IE7.

var session_id = $.cookie("fe_typo_user");
function checken (nummer){
var elem = "#img" + nummer;
$(elem).attr('checked',true); }
var url = "refreshCheckboxes.php?id=" + session_id;
$.getJSON(url,function(data){
$.each(data.posts, function(i,data){
checken (data.number);
}); });

The response of the script:
{"posts": [{"number":"1325"},{"number":"1303"},{"number":"1302"}]}
html (example):
<input
type="checkbox"
id="img1325"
class="merkzettel"
name="merkzettel1325"
value="img_1325.jpg"
/>

You can test it here: [URL]. Activate some checkboxes, load another site and then go back to this site and the checkboxes you have selected, must be activated by the script.

$('body').click(function(event) {

event.preventDefault();
$( '#dialog-add' )
.dialog( 'open' );
}});
$( "#dialog-add" ).dialog({

width: 400, .....
draggable: false,
position: "center",
resizable: false,
modal: true,
buttons: {
"Make a booking": function() {
$('#addbooking').validate({
submitHandler: function(form) {

//ajax
});
$( this ).dialog( "close" );
}});},
Cancel: function() {
$( this ).dialog( "close" );
}},
close: function() {
}});

JQuery :: ValidationEngine Plugin - Custom Callback For Datepicker Input Fields

Apr 9, 2010

I'm using thisjQuery validationEnginebut I'm having a problem validating input fields which are transformed usingJonathan Leighton's datepicker. I need to validate that two dates are the same, so i have a custom callback (validateDOB) to check this. When I run this callback in the firebug console it correctly tests the values against each other, but the callback isn't triggered with the validation engine. I am not sure if i am missing something obvious here. This is the order I load my js files, then my instantiation calls and the callback (see below).

JQuery :: GMap Plugin - Modifying A JSON Object?

Oct 9, 2010

I've started using the gMap plugin [URL] in my site

I have a div, with id "map" in my code and I am creating the map with the following code, passing in a JSON object for config:

$(function() {
$("#map").gMap({
latitude: 54.7,
longitude: -4,

[Code]....

I want to programatically re-center the map and add markers elsewhere in my code, but don't know how to access this JSON object to modify it.

The way I'm currently doing this is to call gMap again with some new configuration, but I don't think this is right as I think it's re-creating the map all over again.

JQuery :: JSON Query Format And The Microft Template Plugin?

Dec 5, 2010

Server-side code returns a JSON representation of a query like this:

{"recordcount":3,"columnlist":"messageid,messagetext,dateposted,firstname,lastname","data":{"messageid":[3,2,1],"messagetext":["hello? is this thing on???","what? why?","Hello, and welcome!"],"dateposted":["{ts '2010-12-05 11:32:51'}","{ts '2010-12-05 11:32:17'}","{ts
'2010-12-05 09:44:30'}"],"firstname":["Mortimer","Tom","Waldo"],"lastname":["Who","Dickenharry","Emerson"]}}

Makes sense, and jQuery converts it to the equivalent javascript object when it comes back in an AJAX response, but I'm having trouble using that with the template plugin. It apparently expects an array of individual objects, each with a field for each query column.The server response is an object containing recordcount, columnlist, and data members, where 'data' is an object keyed by column name, whose values are arrays with the data for each record. It's equivalent, in a familiar format, and a much more concise representation than the javascript for an array of individual objects, since it doesn't repeat the column names for each row, but it's not the same.

JQuery :: Using Return In Callback Function

Sep 30, 2010

I have some problem using the $.post function. I wrote a function that test if a username is already used in my database. That function must return true if the username is free and false in the other case. My problem is that I use the $.post function and I put the return true; and return false; in the callback function. So it's the callback function that returns true/false instead of my function !

Here is my code :
function validateName(){
$.post("ajax_is_name_used.php",
{name: $form_name.val()}, function(data) {
if (data.success == 1) {
$form_name.addClass("error");
return false; // Problem, we are in the callback function !
} else {
return true; // Problem, we are in the callback function !
}}, "json");}

JQuery :: Using The Callback Function For .load()?

Aug 5, 2010

I'm a jQuery novice and I think I've gotten myself in over my head here. I have a #Calculatebutton with a click function attached which, when clicked, iterates through a form and sends the users input values, via $_GET, to a php script called'prepsession.php'. Here the inputs are validated and sanitized, a session is started and some session variables are created using the form input values. If there are any errors I want error messages displayed beside the form. Everything works fine up to this point.

If this script runs ok without giving any errors I would like to fire another php script called'printsummary.php'which accesses the previously created session variables and inserts them into a div #PanelContent. The reason I am usingseparatephp scripts for this is that I would like to be able to print my data in various different ways so I have numerous php print scripts accessing the session variables.

JQuery :: Call A Plugin Function From A Html File In Which The Plugin Is Running

Aug 18, 2011

I have a slideshow plugin and there is a function in it called stopAutoplay(). This is called when I click on the pre-defined pause button in the slideshow, so it stops.

If I switch between the slideshows(Slideshow 1 2 3) the slideshow is getting messier and messier because it starts many slideshows at the same time and the plugin gets confused what to show.

I figured if I click on the pause button before I switch to another slideshow it works fine. Therefore what I would like to achieve now is to call stopAutoplay() somehow before I switch to the new slides.

How can I call stopAutoplay() from the html file when I click on one of the slideshow 1 2 3 buttons?

I've tried the codes in green below but they don't work.

fadeSlideShow(); plugin pause function part:
stopAutoplay = function(){
clearInterval(intval);
intval = false;

[Code]....

If there is a better solution let's say to kill everything before the new slideshow appears it's even better. Although I've tried die(), empty(), detach(), remove(). I hoped remove() would help cause as I read it's suppsed to remove everything but for some reasons it doesn't...
