i am trying to switch tabs without page going back to top.
i am using this script.

but i just can't stop it from the page going back to the top when you click a tab.
I've got links on a website that takes the user to different parts of the same page (i.e, no reloading of the page)
I would like 2 things to happen when a link is clicked:
1) the url changes eg. from mysite.com/home to mysite.com/about when the about link is clicked.
2) when refreshing the page that it stays where it's at and not go back to the top of the page.
i want to have tabs like yahoo that displays data on same page while navigation but i want to fetch my data from db im using php
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat i'm doing is that i've got a sign-up form. Since the signup form can be accessed from many pages, i'm trying to use javascript to go back to the page the person comes form. so what i'm using is this:
PHP Code:
This works perfectly.. BUT.. in some browsers i have to press refresh to have the changes made.
E.g. index.php says "hello guest" after signing in some browsers say "hello user" some like ie5 say "hello guest" (if i refresh, then it says "hello user")
So is there anyway to goback to the previous page in history and not to use the cache?
I have many tags. I want click each tag, then post/get the tag's value to another page. In another page, received the values and make a mysql query. Then return the resalt data to the first page(do not make an iframe).

Is there a way to create an alert that would pop-u when the user clicked refresh?
On refresh:
"Warning: Refreshing this page will bring you back to the beginning of the application. Are you sure you want to refresh the page?"
Yes - No
On page forward or back:
"Warning: Using the forward/back buttons may cause unexpected problems. Please use the tabs to navigate from page to page. Are you sure you want to use the forward/back button?"
YES - No
When I load my website www.bellmacchinaproductions.com, I see a slideshow featured category. When I click on the logo to go back to the main page, it is cut off. But when I refresh, it seems to work again...
View 1 Replies View RelatedHere is the url:The issue, as you will see, is initially when my front page loads the "menu" animates into place. Then after a button is clicked:
$(".home_button").click(function() {
$('#content_menu').stop().fadeOut(1000,function() {
window.location = "http://jquery.com/";
[code]...
That all works fine. The issue is when I use the back button on the browser to return to the home page the animation never triggers and the page remains unusable until a refresh. How can I have this page refresh when the user uses the back button and/or is there a better way to do what I'm asking?
I have nested tabs in jquery tabs which are pretty simple to do if we want static jquery tabsbut what if we want nested tabs that the remote page should decide what would be the tabs.or in other words i want nested tabs in a remote page (or ajaxified) For example i m calling this page(remote page) through tabs
<div id="container-2">
<ul>
<li><a href="#fragment-1a"><span>Section 1a</span></a></li>

Has anyone been able to get back button history to work with UI Tabs.
or any way to make the back button work with previous visited tabs.
I tried using the history plug but im not sure how to make it work with ajax created tabs.
I'm using this to change some tabs around. Is there a way to add hashes to the URL too or some way that i can enable back/forward buttons functions and link to a particular tab?
$(document).ready(function(){
$(".buttons").click(function () {
if ($(this).hasClass("current_tab_button")){ //is it the tab that's already displayed

So my problem is that i can't send form data in FF without page refresh (though in IE7-8 everything works smoothly).
My code fragments:
Anyone know how I can change the color of a text link on a page that doesn't load a new page, but rather stays on the same page?The nav links already use an onClick to present content below it that changes depending on what link in the nav I select. In other words, there's already two things going on -- links take you to content on the same page using a JS onClick.What I want to add to that is when you click on the link, it changes style, like turns bold or changes color. So then the user knows that not only have they selected new content, but the link they selected stands out as well.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a page that is dynamically build through DOM manipulation. So, when I browse outside the page, and then click back, those dynamically created DOM objects are gone. I can rebuild the page easily. So the point is that if the user leaves the dynamic page, then clicks back on their browser, I need the page they are going back to to refresh. I thought it might be something about caching, so I've tried to use all following 3 META tags but it doesn't work.
Code:
<meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache">
<META HTTP-EQUIV="CACHE-CONTROL" CONTENT="NO-CACHE">
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Expires" CONTENT="-1">
document.cookie="yourdrive="+driveletter+"; expires="+"; path=/";
document.cookie="maindrive="+menuletter+"; expires="+"; path=/";
They end up looking like this in the cookie:
yourdrive E ~~local~~/ 1088 647360864 29848791 647360864 29848791 * maindrive C ~~local~~/ 1088 647360864 29848791 647360864 29848791 *
So they must be being set. I must have tried a dozen cookie reading routines and I can't read either of them back! Can anyone do it? I am sure it must be simple. But all I get is "false" all the time. Code:
I have a webpage popup (lets call it POPUP) which refreshes the opener window (this one we call PARENT) when we close it, saying we want to save data. For this, we use
top.oWndOpener.refresh();
When we don't want to save the POPUP data, we just close the popup and
don't refresh the PARENT. In the PARENT we have a "Back" link which executes a simple
history.back()
The problem is:
If we refresh parent, we need to go back 2 pages, because the refresh
method adds another page to the history. But we have no (easy) way of
knowing in the PARENT if it had been refreshed. With this, our users
are forced to click two times in the Back link.
Is there anyway of going back to the previous page, no matter how many
refreshes happened in the current one ?
I have a problem with my code. I implement different Tabs into a Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 site (.aspx). Now everytime I select a tab and refresh the whole page, IE7 cannot remmember the last session and navigate automatically back to tab1.. Properly I need to set Cookies. Im a beginner in using cookies and coding javascript..
[CODE]
<%@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~masterurl/default.master" inherits="Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.WebPartPage, Microsoft.SharePoint, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c" meta:progid="SharePoint.WebPartPage.Document" %>

I am loading the pages in a div. Without reloading the page the content is loading into the page by using the below method.

I have a large form that uses jquery's .change to rewrite html select forms, make some calculations, etc. It works great if I don't reload the page via a refresh or a back. If I click back or refresh it doesn't change some of my form's selections, but all of the jquery generated stuff doesn't recalculate. Is there a way I can trigger a re-evaluation? I tried
$(document).ready(function () {
...
(#id).trigger('change');
...
});
I'm working on a chat box. Everything works fine with the chat contents in a separate frame except when it reloads. I'm using the <meta> reload and I don't like how obvious the refresh is. Could someone tell me how I can refresh the frame without having the status bar and tabs showing it loading.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to write a script that uses the IF statement to see wether or not a user clicked the back button to come to a page, and then if it's true to not let the page load and kick them back X number of pages (say 4) This is what I have so far:
<script language="JavaScript"><!--
if javascript:window.history.back == 1
{
javascript:window.history.back(4);
return false;
}
//--></script>
I need some script to force the browser to reload/refresh when a page is reached from the back button.
EG You're on page A -> You click a link onto page B -> You Press Browser back to go onto Page A, it has old content that requires a reload.
Now, my page is currently php so I won't bother with my code here as I am looking for any solution (I have also posted in php forum).
Any JS solution that will trigger a reload on browser back is appreciated. I have tried a few ideas, most work in Chrome, IE always works, Firefox 4 and Opera 11 wont reload, simply fetching from cache I believe.
