Feb 23, 2011I have a problem here. I know how to store a cookie and check a cookie... but i don't know how to calculate the time between current visit and previous visit...
Example.
I logged in @ 1pm and logged in again @ 3pm... It should a msg like "your last visit was 2 hours ago"

Mar 28, 2011I'm trying to create a list that contains items which are filters for a search. The list shows 10 items (max) on the page load. if there are more than 10 it changes the class of the elements > 10 so they are hidden, and a 'show more' link is appended. Now if the user has 'unhidden' the previously hidden items and then chooses one, I want the class for all those previously hidden items to change until the user has deselected that item.

Is there a better, smaller way to write this? It works for what i need currently, but there are future features im planning that will not be practical checkingindividualindexes the way i've done it.

Program Menu Items To Stay Active / When On Current Page

I used quickmenu and it used JS to produce the arrows at the top of each menu item.I'm trying to program the menu items to stay active when on the current page. At first, it looks correct, but if you hover back over the menu, it changes back to the inactive state.

Dec 19, 2011I have a gallery style page with rectangular images on laid out like a grid of nine. When the user looks at the page there is just the images and no information, but when they hover over the image I would like some text and a bar underneath to show up over the top so the user can read some information.my images sit in "a" tags. There is also a div tag in there which has it's z-index and position (absolute) set up so that it sits over the top of the image element in the "a" tag. stripped down e.g.

I need the div tag withinin the "a" tag to be set to 0 opacity. When the user hovers over the image the div tag slowly fades in to 100% opacity. Once the user moves the mouse away from the image the div tag slowly disappears again.I need each one to work independently so that it only changes the one currently being hovered over.

Feb 15, 2010I'm having problems with my text appearing aliased and turning blue when it fades in and out. I've tried using the Newsticker plugin and the Easyticker plugin, and I'm getting the same result in IE7 and Firefox 3.6. I'm using jQuery 1.2.6-min Specifying a background color doesn't fix it. The examples on the plugin websites look fine, but when I try and implement the effect myself, my orange text becomes aliased and fades to a light blue color before dipping to white. Same thing happens on the fade in. attached is a screenshot of what I'm seeing.

JQuery :: Get A True Cross-fade, Not The Sorta Cross Fade Used By Default?

The cross fade option used by default with cycle is not a linear one...it looks like it uses some kind of S curve because during the crossfade animation the background (meaning the area behind the images being cross-faded) becomes visible. Example screenshot taken mid-transition. The pink should never be visible behind the grey, but it is:

I have a jQuery click event handler on the dethead tr's which is fine.
But what I want to find in this click event handler is the previous <h3> to the clicked <tr>
So if I click on item1, item2 or item3 I want to find the <h3>Heading 1</h3>
I click on item4, item5 or item6 I want to find the <h3>Heading 2</h3>
NOTE: Not all the <h3> will have the same classes, if any class at all.
Been trying various things from Tree Traversal but have not found the right combination.
