I just needed a simple dropdown. So what better solution than jquery right? Well, when I finished it, I tested it out and it works until you try to click a link in the dropdown. It then disappears. Not sure if theres something overlaying throwing it off but I didn't see anything in firebug.

I am trying to use the code below to create the following behavior for comboboxes with class = "requiredCombo" -
1. If the selected index is 0, I want the font to be grey; otherwise black.
2. When the mouse enters the box, I want to change the font to black while the user is making a selection.
3. If the mouse leaves the combo and the user did not click (that is, they just ran the mouse over the combobox) and the selected index is 0, I want the font to be grey otherwise black.
4. If the user clicks on a selection and it is not index = 0 I want the font to be black.
The following code works great in Firefox but in IE 7 when I include the "mouseleave" code, the dropdown list opens up when I click the dropdown but as soon as I try to move into the list to make a selection, the dropdown list closes. Any suggestions what I can do?

1. When I hover on a link, it does 2 animations, but when I "unhover", it doesn't reset the default values also with animations. I know the problem might be the display none in the css, but I really have no idea how to get around that.
2. As I said above, when I hover on a link, it does 2 animations, but when I move the cursor to another link, it doesn't "re"-do the animations anymore.

Using the same code, I alter the $("#ipselect").msDropDown(); to a bogus ID such as ipselect1. The jquery dropdown select is gone, and the default select box is viewable. When I click one of the options, the click function processes with no issues. Is it not possible to use the click function with the dropdown select code? I think the image dropdown code was posted on the jquery site as a tutorial.

I'm trying to pass the value of this dropdown to a function and enable another dropdown(and in the future create the populated dropdown based on this choice). I am using a script so that a url selected from a dropdown is given control using the window.location method. This depends on the onsbumit definition attached to the action statement. All that works well. However, I have other checkboxes etc. on the form, and their values are no longer submitted when I used this onsubmit function. Is there a way I can get them to work... So far so good, managed to get it to work with only one set of lists, but I actually have 18 of those sets in this form:
