I've been through various jQuery windows popups (modal, fancybox, boxy la facebook ...) but none of them convinced me.want to displayinside the popup php/html file not images. I really like the modalstyle but it displays only javascript files. My goal is to have kind of mail goggles popup. The user can't discloseit if he clicks outside of the window.
I found the following 'Cut & Paste Google Internal Site Search script' in the Javascriptkit.com library - it works well and provides an easy solution for adding a search function to a website - code below
<script type="text/javascript"> // Google Internal Site Search script- By JavaScriptKit.com (http://www.javascriptkit.com) // For this and over 400+ free scripts, visit JavaScript Kit- http://www.javascriptkit.com/ // This notice must stay intact for use //Enter domain of site to search. var domainroot="www.javascriptkit.com" [Code]...
What I want to do is somehow get my browser version through javascript:
Code:
var browse = navigator.appName; and then mail that to myself. I can't figure out how to get that variable into php so I can email. I'm aware of the difference between client/server side, so I need to know how I could POST the value to another page or something.
There is a webpage (of another website) "page A" (a registration form) that I have to use as a popunder on my website.
However, due to the code for the form validation (email & other entries) on Page A, the page does NOT remain as a popunder, but popups above my actual website's main page....
Is it because of this attribute in the body tag? <body OnLoad="document.form1.email.focus();">
If so, what counter can I use to beat it poping up above the main index page? PS: Cannot make changes to PAGE A, just my own Index page....
</div> </div> </div><!-- End demo --> <div class="demo-description"> Fetch external content via Ajax for the tabs by setting an href value in the tab links. While the Ajax request is waiting for a response, the tab label changes to say "Loading...", then returns to the normal label once loaded. </div><!-- End demo-description --> </body> </html>
I have Google Mail login page, saved locally to C: disk. I want to edit its source so, that when entered username and password and clicked on "Login" button it did absolutelly nothing, but the form did not reset. I tried deleting from the source "form action = https"//....", "method = post", "onsubmit = ...".
So, when the form is submitted, nothing happens(as I want it to be), but the field values are reset(what I want to avoid). I also tried inserting to source code "form onsubmit = return false", but the username and password values are still reset.
I hav linked external js (ext1.js) to my app.html page. Now in the ext1.js, I have a function like
[CODE] function onwindowload(){ //Access HTML element and append external js 2 (ext2.js) here }[CODE] //Access HTML element and append external js 2 (ext2.js) here--->I donno how to add external JS here.
Even if i add the external JS here, the JS uses document.write fn. which replaces entire page.
I have a navigational element that is distinct from the rest of my navigation and is a graphical icon. Therefore, I'm not using the standard <li> elements to display it. I'm simply using an <img> tag. The <li> tag for that nav element is not being displayed. I do however want the subnav to display when you mouse over the image. You can view it here: [URL] Question: How would I activate the display of the subnav (and hide the current subnav) using an object outside of the navigational list? I know I need to somehow trigger superfish with a mouseover event
I'm having issues with jquery and the tabs I'm using. My tabs work but... I want some more functions and that seems to be a big problem for a Javascript and jquery newby.
I really don't know if this is correct but it works! What doesn't work is the active class. If you use one of the buttons in the first tab you go to the right tab but the tab itself has no class called active and that ruins the style.
2) I also have one other question: lets say that all the above is my second page and I have my frontpage in which I also have buttons. I want somebody to use the button and end up in the third tab of page 2. My link is something like
Code: page2.html#tab3
I read that using this should lead you the third tab but it's not working for me. You go to the first tab of page 2 instead.
I've been reading a LOT! Jquery for dummies, I googled, read the forum and other forums. I posted on a Dutch forum but no answer. I've added a lot of different code but it doesn't work.
I have been trying to display "anythingslider" plugin inside a jquery modal popup. I have tried with both colorbox and simplemodal and both give exact same effect. The effects I am seeing is when the modal window is launched the anythingslider shows the start button and the 2 green 1-2 tabs stacked vertically on top of each other. I don't see anything else (no slides etc).I am testing with the code found here:URL....I am using the setup and example code as it is listed on the page.[code]
What I want to do basically is to replicate functionaly from jquery forum. While browising forum list you may notice that small menu popup on right side. I want to do something similiar on my forums, and siplay some small menu for each thread and post. Now what I need is way to do it in table cell.
I am using the jQuery dialog window. Inside the modal window it is displayed a table. When I display the table in a standard HTML page everything works well but, when I display the table inside the dialog, special characters does not appear correctly (I mean the characters ‡·¡¨ " and so on).
So I'm trying to put a bit of javascript together to compliment some general monitoring systems we use at work. I have put together some simple stuff for running a slide show of graphs and stuff, but I also need to include a table of information from a page on a system called opsview. The problem is the page on ops view is roughly 40% rubbish that I don't need clogging up my nice clean UI. So any ideas as to a function that may accomplish this? I was thinking it may be a good idea to use some kind of XML based extraction or maybe to use getElementById.innerHTML to strip everything out of the unneeded divs. Both of these solutions strike me as a little inefficient as they would involve loading the whole page each time and as the page will need to be refreshed every 18 seconds this might not be the best way.
I have an external JS file that generates HTML for displaying an image--it does this via a document.write. I would like to capture the HTML it writes and display the HTML in a textarea.
To better illustrate what I want, this is what I originally tried:
When I load a page into an existing page I think the div's are not nested properly therefore the javascript is not working correctly. What's happening is ALL the div's on the second page are showing. I just need the first div to show then when you click on the <li> element the other div shoes. It works fine when the page loaded by istself. Here is my code:MAIN
I'm trying to link to a jQuery tab (the second tab) from an external source and havent had much luck so far. I found this on the jQuery UI demo's page: ...select a tab from a text link instead of clicking a tab itselfvar $tabs = $('#example').tabs(); // first tab selected $('#my-text-link').click(function() { // bind click event to link $tabs.tabs('select', 2); // switch to third tab return false; });
But cant figure out what I should be putting in "#my-text-link ", what is itreferringtoo? My second tab is called '#tabs-2' so I assume that's what I place into'#example' ?
I'm using the following JQuery Popup code to make smooth popups: [URL]
I was wondering how I can use use this to load external pages into the popup?
So instead of having a hidden <div> in the page, there would be some sort of empty <div (<div id='this'></div>). The when I click a link, an external page would be loaded into this empty.
So it would function just as it does in the above tutorial, expect the popup content would be coming from an another page, not within the page
but the problem is that when I put this in a PHP echo, like so
// retrieve the session information $u = $_SESSION['username']; $uid = $_SESSION['loginid']; // display the user box
[Code]...
the javascript does not work because the ' interferes I'm assuming. So is there a way to accomplish the show/hide without using some sort of code that would interfere with the php echo?
Hi I'm trying to load a part of a page (that has script in it) into another page using jquery. However, though the html loads in correctly, none of the script is working. I'm using code from [URL]..ie. the pages all work without java (static pages) and when java is enabled, instead of going to bio.html you get taken to ..#bio.html.
However if I've got any script I would like to be loaded .. ie. lightbox gallery or even a simple jav split and put back together email address hider. I'm not very clued up about jquery at the moment unfortunately and though I've been trying to read and learn, alot is going over my head..Not sure how best it is to show you the page as it's not live yet. Maybe if it helps I can upload a zip of the site. It's a simple 6 page musician site.Though my code is exactly like the css-tricks page, just that I have a lightbox on one page (which loads fine if there's no hash in the address - but when hash is there, it shows thumbnails, and when you click one, it just takes you to the larger .jpg destination page (no lightboxness etc).)
