JQuery :: Nesting A Page Inside Of Main Page?
May 23, 2011
When I load a page into an existing page I think the div's are not nested properly therefore the javascript is not working correctly. What's happening is ALL the div's on the second page are showing. I just need the first div to show then when you click on the <li> element the other div shoes. It works fine when the page loaded by istself. Here is my code:MAIN
PAGE:<

I am trying to incorporate two javascript files (using jQuery) and they are creating a conflict.If the main js is on the page part of the page does not work. If I do not include it my menu and some related features do not work correctly.One code is long so here is the link to it: *I removed Link* (this is the main code for the menu etc)The other js is:
$(document).ready(function(){
Engine.Initialize();
if( !$('body').hasClass('index') && !$('body').hasClass('homepage') ) {[code]....

if it's possible to nest tabs inside a scrollable from jQuery Tools. Basically, replacing the page content with a set of tabs. I've tried a few times, and with the jQuery native tabs, there must either be some JS or CSS conflicts that prevent things from working properly.

On my webpage, I dynamically create an iFrame when a button is pressed, then load a html page from within my own domain into the iframe, based on what html page is loaded into a variable. My question is, can I dynamically change the font family of the loaded html page from the javascript of the main page? My code to create the iframe is:
function setSubTxt(){
var par = document.getElementById('parentDiv');
par.innerHTML = '<iframe src="'+subTxt+'" style="width: 375px; position: fixed; height: 365px; left: 400px; top: 145px; border=none;" name="subIframe" frameBorder=0></iframe>';
frames['subIframe'].window.location=subTxt;
document.subIframe.document.body.style.fontFamily = "Arial";
[Code]....
the variable "subTxt" has the url of the html page to be loaded (always on the same domain). The code: document.subIframe.document.body.style.fontFamily = "Arial"; was my attempt to dynamically change the font, but it didn't work. Also, it should be noted that there is no font family set in the html pages which would override this.

Our company own a lot of domains and want to put a short page of copy on each address along with keywords before redirecting the user to our main site. I have been able to get the page to load the main site after the desired time using this code in the head...
<META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="40;URL=http://webaddress.com/">
That works perfectly, I am now trying to display a countdown timer from 40 seconds down to 0, and on 0 redirect the user. Saying something like "You will be redirected in XX seconds". Is there anyway of doing this? I've been searching google for the answers with no luck and can only seem to find timers that countdown to a set date.

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

I have to click the 'Yes' button about thirty times before the browser will finally close. Does anyone have any idea what this is?
Here is the source code.

But I am doing both front and backend for a project and having an issue with a jquery slider which, when inserted, is breaking 2 other js scripts in the page, including my main menu.Can anyone point me to a resource that outlines best practices for working with more than one js library and/or raw js .I'm doing some tests on the order of the scripts right now, but wanted to put a feeler out there to see if someone has dealt with this before.

I have an ajax script which loads new content onto the page when the main navigation links is clicked. I also have a jquery script which fades divs in and out when another subset of links are clicked.
I guess these scripts essentially do the same thing but the first basically is loading in 'pages' without the page having to refresh. The second is just fading in and out divs that are on a page.
The problem is is that the second script only seems to work once, when the page is loaded.
Here they are:

i've a div that contains a form, each of these elements have their own id; the structure is something like this
<div class="art-Block-body">
<div class="art-BlockHeader">
<div class="art-header-tag-icon">[code].....
I'd want that: at the first user's click on the #register div, the div #registerForm become visible, it should remains visible also when the user click the submit button within and it should disappear if the user click a second time on the #register.I partially solved my problems with this:
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#registerForm").css("display","none");
$("#register").toggle(function(){[code]....
but i can't resolve the submit issue: whenever a user submit the form in the #loginForm div, the page refresh and the main div return invisible.

I have a script which works from my main page, but I need to embed it also into an iframed page, and have it affect the main page from there as well. In my main page, I have the following iframes:
<iframe id="main">
<iframe id="player">
<control buttons embedded on main page, along with the iframes>
The default source of "main" is page A, which is a frameset of pages B and C. In page B, I want to embed the same controls I have on the main page, and have them affect the main page from there.
Here's the controls script from the main page - it works from that page - a resizing onClick of the "player" iframe:
<head>
<script language="JavaScript">
function resizeIframe(iframeId, iframeHeight, iframeWidth)
{
if (iframeWidth>0)
{
document.getElementById(iframeId).style.width=iframeWidth;
}
if (iframeHeight>0)
{
document.getElementById(iframeId).style.height=iframeHeight;
}
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<a id="widenButton" onclick="resizeIframe(player', 420, 720)return false;">Enlarge Player</a>
</body>
How would I put the widenButton in that back page and still have it affect the front page?

I'm looking for a Javascript workaround that'll allow me to indicate the current page on the main menu(basically, the menu button for that page will be a different colour to the rest of the menu buttons). The main menu is in CSS but isn't bringing up the required image for the "current menu item" indicator automatically and no one knows why.

My project is for a scuba diving shop, and they would like to have a touchscreen in their shop. Users can use this touchscreen to browse through the various courses that the scuba diving shop offers. I have the home screen, and the several different pages for each course.
The Problem: Users will sometimes select a course they're interested in, and then leave the screen after using it. Leaving the page on the course and not on the main page for the next user.
I dreamt up a solution for this, however I'm yet to find out how I can go about implementing this.The Solution:Make a timer that appears after 5 mins of being idle and gives the user one more minute to move the mouse (or any activity) before it redirects back to the main screen.
Research:From my research I've come to the conclusion that something like this is possible, using Javascript and I've had a play around myself but to no avail. Here is the script I was trying:

I'm using the code below to create a pop-up search box that finds text strings on a contents page. The contents page contains a list of hyperlinks each of which opens a PDF document in the same window. The search box does exactly what it's intended to do, but the problem is this: if the user clicks on "Find next" or "Find previous" once the PDF document is open, an error occurs; the same error occurs if the user then navigates back to the contents page and clicks on "Find next" or "Find previous". I'm thinking the solution must be to get the search box to close as soon as the PDF document opens, but how do I achieve this?

I have created a link to a new pop up browser window from main site page using following javascript
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/JavaScript">
<!--
function MM_openBrWindow(theURL,winName,features) { //v2.0
window.open(theURL,winName,features);
}
//-->
</script>
The code for the pop window is: <a href="#" onClick="MM_openBrWindow('alabaster/pop1.html','alabaster','width=490,height=630')">View large image</a>
The problem I am having is that on the main content page, you scroll down, click on link to pop up (page loads) but the main parent content jumps back to the top of page, meaning you have to scroll back down to where you were.

I have a normal web page that contains a link.
When the link is pressed a javascript popup window occurs asking the user for a choice.
The popup window then closes and I want also for the original page to be refreshed.
So how do I do the refreshing is my question.
I realise the reload command is relevant, but am unsure on how to tell the pop up window to refresh the original page.

Can somebody tell me how I can make a popup window appear behind the main browser window by modifying the script below to do this? I would like it so the popup will load but they won't see it until they close the main window.
Code:

<!-- Begin
var popupWin
function openWindow() {

I'm having trouble calling javascript functions that are loaded in the main window.
Here's what happens:
- when a link is clicked on my page, the contents of a div are reloaded with new contents from another file.
- The new file only contains the new contents of the div.
- I want the new contents of the div to call a function that was originally loaded before the new contents were reloaded.
- So, the main page loads the information and the javascript functions. Then, when the link is clicked, the new contents are loaded into the div with a link that calls a function that was already loaded.
- However, nothing happens when I click on the link to call the function.
Is there something I need to do to call the function?
