Centering Objects In IFrame On Main Page

Mar 2, 2009

I have a main page(html) and an iframe in it.
<html>
<body>
<iframe src="myIframe.html" />
</body>
</html>

In the iframe I have DIV element with a picture/or another element in it. I need to center the DIV element in the iframe, the DIV in the end should be in the center of the iframe(client area), this iframe can be resize, so every time the iframe is resize I need to center the DIV according to the new client area. How I can get the client area and center the DIV? I'm guessing that I will need also the size of the element(picture) to center it, right?

Iframe Affecting Anchors Of Main Window

Dec 11, 2009

I have javascript in an iframe that controls showing/hiding of divs. This works great, but after the javascript is executed it changes the behavior of anchor tags of the main window of the website (namely - links in the main window all open in new windows and not in the specified target iframe). I've searched and searched and looked up all sorts of things, rendering me a confused and frustrated fellow.

Changing IFrame Source From Main Window Onclick?

Nov 18, 2009

Ok, 'nother head-banger for the hardcore!

I have a "contact us" <a> with the id 'contact' on the main page, which is supposed to change the source file of an iframe to the contact page. Except when I click on "contact us" nothing happens.

I've tried to get this to work several different ways, and suspect that the problem is purely syntax, but I just haven't been able to figure it out.

Here's the code:

The snippet on the main page (index.html):

<div id="linkListContact" class="LinkList">
<img id="linkListContactBg" class="SideBarBgImg" src="Assets/Backgrounds/SideBar/ContactBg.png"></img>
<span>

[Code]....

The setIFrame function is used to call the content initially when the page loads, and is working beautifully in that context. You can see the problem in action at the actual site: [URL]

JQuery :: Scrolling Main Document After Iframe Has Finished Loading?

Jan 29, 2010

I have a long (more that one screen) document, which has a iframe in the bottom. The iframe target URL contains a "bookmark" (hash mark) to scroll the iframe contents, like this: <iframe src="document.html#bookmark"></iframe> The problem with this is that the main document also scrolls down to show the bookmark in the iframe!

So I tried to solve this with a little jQuery in the main document, but I can't get it to work as it should:

$('iframe').ready(function () {
//alert('hello world');
$(document).scrollTop(0);
});

The alert show that the function is triggered (and having it enabled, actually prevents the document from scrolling down), but the scrollTop() is not executed...

For eg: I have www.example.com , which has a page sendto.aspx and I open it in Iframe from subdomain sps.example.com.

This Iframe is not closing if I say self.close(), window.close(), window.parent.close() and nothing works for me.

I also checked that the current domain is example.com when I try to alert with document.domain.

Dynamically Change The Font Family Of The Loaded Html Page Of The Main Page?

Nov 4, 2010

On my webpage, I dynamically create an iFrame when a button is pressed, then load a html page from within my own domain into the iframe, based on what html page is loaded into a variable. My question is, can I dynamically change the font family of the loaded html page from the javascript of the main page? My code to create the iframe is:

function setSubTxt(){
var par = document.getElementById('parentDiv');
par.innerHTML = '<iframe src="'+subTxt+'" style="width: 375px; position: fixed; height: 365px; left: 400px; top: 145px; border=none;" name="subIframe" frameBorder=0></iframe>';
frames['subIframe'].window.location=subTxt;
document.subIframe.document.body.style.fontFamily = "Arial";
[Code]....

the variable "subTxt" has the url of the html page to be loaded (always on the same domain). The code: document.subIframe.document.body.style.fontFamily = "Arial"; was my attempt to dynamically change the font, but it didn't work. Also, it should be noted that there is no font family set in the html pages which would override this.

Access Iframe DOM

Apr 17, 2007

Is it possible to read the DOM of an iframe if the iframe's src is
from another domain?

I realise I can't manipulate the DOM from another domain for security
reasons, but can I access the DOM and just read object's values?

This is what I've tried so far without any success:

document.getElementsByTagName("iframe").contentWindow;
document.getElementsByTagName("iframe").innerHTML;
document.getElementsByTagName("iframe").childNodes[0].innerHTML;
document.getElementsByTagName("iframe").childNodes[0].nodeValue;
document.getElementsByTagName("iframe").documentElement;
document.getElementsByTagName("iframe").contentDocument.
document.getElementById("testIframe").innerHTML;
document.getElementById("testIframe").childNodes[0].innerHTML;
document.getElementById("testIframe").childNodes[0].nodeValue;

Countdown To Page Refresh - Put A Short Page Of Copy On Each Address Along With Keywords Before Redirecting The User To Main Site

Aug 22, 2011

Our company own a lot of domains and want to put a short page of copy on each address along with keywords before redirecting the user to our main site. I have been able to get the page to load the main site after the desired time using this code in the head...

<META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="40;URL=http://webaddress.com/">

That works perfectly, I am now trying to display a countdown timer from 40 seconds down to 0, and on 0 redirect the user. Saying something like "You will be redirected in XX seconds". Is there anyway of doing this? I've been searching google for the answers with no luck and can only seem to find timers that countdown to a set date.

Write A Class Or Function That Controls Stats On Page?

Aug 21, 2011

I am trying to write a class or function (not sure which is needed) that controls stats on my page. I currently have a working example but I need additional functionality and I'm not sure how to do it. Basically it needs to run every 6 seconds to update the stats(as they change constantly).

I need the javascript to connect(using ajax) to a database and retrieve stats to initially store as global variables. Then, as stated, I need it to modify(simple math that I can do) these stats every 6 seconds.

IFrame, GetSelection(), And Unauthorized Access

I'm trying to figure out a way to have JavaScript use getSelection()
with text located in an iFrame. I've been able to make it work, but only
when the iFrame displays a page located on the parent page's domain.
When the iFrame displays pages on other domains, I get an error --
something about unauthorized access. I'm guessing the error stems from
concerns about scripting attacks.

JQuery :: Access The Content Of An Iframe?

Jun 1, 2009

I am trying to access the content of an iframe. I have search google and read a couple of other post, but my problem is a little bit more complicated. I can't use the ...contents().find("whatever") function though the result is of content type text/plain. In other words: There is not HTML is the result. The result cannot be tampered with either. Because contents, html and text are not really helping me I thought to use a counter. Whenever the length would be more than 1 I would show the result. But that doesn't seem to work either.
