I am trying to usw window.open , upload a file in the child window and then referesh the parent window. But once upload is done, window . opener .location.href or opener.location.replace sends a message back but I get a pop up blocker, so if I turn pop up blocker off, it opens in new page. I just want the parent page to refresh on the same window. This works on some employees stations but not on others..I don't know if there are any settings on IE that need to change, I tried everything...weird. does any one done this before?

The Second page (which loads OK) has a link that submits to the third page,
(below).
This third page closes itsself and Loads a new page into the Index page.

I am trying to dynamically open a popup window but ie8 blocks it with the popup blocker. basically within a ajax fuction I have a confirm button and if the user clicks yes it opens a popup window. now I tried it with a javascript function but it got blocked, so I have tried it by creating a form with a button in it and instead of calling the popup function direct I call document.form.button.click and in the form my button has onclick"popup('<? echo url; ?>')" but this also is detected as a unwarranted popup and is blocked.
now I understand that the popup blocker works when a popup is called without user interaction, but allows popups on say button clicks. how can I get the popup to work
I have a pop up window is for the user to submit some information.
That window is refreched a few times with the user inputs (its a form
submit in itself... couple of times). I would like that window to close
after the user submits a rating and refreshed the original page that
opened the window.
I cant use opener.document.refresh because afterall the page isnt
considered the opener after the user posts the information on the pop
up window.
I have a few banners and forms that I wish to open in a new tab not the same window or a new window. I have tried the deprecated
target="_blank"
But even that opens a new window.
I have done some research on google and came up with CSS code:

This however does not work and opens in the same window. When using the CSS I remove the inline target.
what I'd like to do is be able to click on a link in the popup window, and have the popup window close while reloading the parent window to the selected url.

Anyone know how to change the visibility of a DIV in one window from another (pop-up) window? The pop-up was generated by the window with the DIV. The situation: I've got 4 DIVs in the main window with only one showing at a time (it's a multi layered form). The pop-up window is generated from the main window when a user wants to edit certain form fields. When they've completed their edits in the pop-up and submit the main window refreshes with the new data, however the main window defaults to showing the first DIV and hiding the others. When the pop-up is generated from the 2nd, 3rd or 4th DIV I'd like to bring the user back to that DIV, not the first.

So, right now, the piece of the code that redirects the browser looks like this: window.location.href='http://www.somewhere.com/'; Works great, brings it up in the same browser window. So now I need to modify the code so it goes to a different page and brings that page up in a specified iframe.

I have a domain name registration field that links to a reseller storefront and then searches for that domain name. I would like the storefront to open in a new window, instead of the parent window. I have tried to insert the target="blank tag but can not seem to get it to work. Is there another way to make that window open? I've got a bunch of <div> blocks, with a fixed width and height, that are all left floated.I would like a user to be able to click a "remove" link and have it delete a box, and all the boxes to the right "slide in" to fill the void created.I have it working well enough with a "snap" transition. I made that term up because I'm not sure how else to describe it--by "snap" transition I mean that the boxes to the right "snap" into position--there's no "sliding" or easing as they move, it's just moment their in their old positions, and the next moment, everything has been rearranged and they're in their new positions. how to adequately describe it in text, so here's a video showing what I mean: [URL]

I want to create a box with a text in german. Above the text, there are buttons in order to change the language. So, by clicking on "French", the german text disappears and is replaced by the french one. So, I created the buttons and the DIV-Blocks.
