I have found a few answers but none that fit what i need. alot tell you to use target blank on submit, but i have two buttons that do 2 completely different things. Target="_blank" Functionality - Target Page To Open It As Top Location From Within An Iframe
Mar 24, 2011I am using the following javascript on the target page to open it as top location from within an iframe, which is working ok.

However my problem occurs when the user uses the browsers back arrow to return to the previous page, the script executes again returning them once more to the page they have come from. Is anyone aware of a work around to this problem as it would seem there isn't one? perhaps even a better solution for opening the target page from the iframe as top location. This is really causing confusion for users, and I really need to get the issue fixed.

Oct 19, 2011I have a few banners and forms that I wish to open in a new tab not the same window or a new window. I have tried the deprecated
target="_blank"
But even that opens a new window.
I have done some research on google and came up with CSS code:
form[target] {
target-name: new;
target-new: tab;
}
a[target] {
target-name: new;
target-new: tab;
}
This however does not work and opens in the same window. When using the CSS I remove the inline target.

I would like the storefront to open in a new window, instead of the parent window. I have tried to insert the target="blank tag but can not seem to get it to work. I am creating a web-based mobile app. In other words, the native app acts just like a set of frames that load web pages. One of the frames loads an ad. The ad is invoked via javascript provided by various mobile ad networks.On the iPhone, we are noticing the ad loads within the ad frame inside the app, instead of spawning a new browser window. We would like to resolve this w/ javascript code that forces all links (specifically links generated via javascript) to open in a new browser window.

I used the "Image Control" to bind 6 photos via a Parameter Query with the drive path to each photo stored in a table. So far this works great and the co-workers are impressed. However the photos (Thumbnails) are small and it would be great if I could use the "Image Control's" (on-click) event to open a new widow so as to see a larger image of the photo. As an interim solution I am using the Hyperlink control, however when you click on it the photo opens in the same window and when you click IE's Back arrow the Parameter query prompts the user for the value again. All this could be avoided if the Image control (or hyperlink) could open a new window (with the photo of course), and when finished merely close it. The script

I can do that easily via onUnload event of javascript but the catch is that the popup must open only when we close the window and not when we submit a form or click a link on the page.Actually it is a survey which opens only when one closes the window.
