I m having a text data of around 6 page length in a text editor...I want to print dat data using window.print. For that i displayed dat data in a html page and used window.print(). Bt my client wants dat some line spaces shud be inserted first in the starting of the page and on the second page also...After that the printing shud be normal... How can i set the page in such a format...?

1) ele (element)
2) w (width)
in this line, how am i supposed to use the "ele" with text.() ?? ele.text("The width for the " + ele + " is " + w + "px."); /* PROBLEM HERE!!!! */
In order for this to work i do: $("#box1").text("The width for the " + ele + " is " + w + "px."); but if i have many different boxes with different ids, i can't create so many functions and have:

Working with a script I had found/pieced together online. It toggles the display of certain content along with selected text (i.e., "view/hide"). It's working great in all browsers except for IE7 (go figure). The showing and hiding of the content works, just not the switching out of the values for "show/hide".

When a user clicks on "webdesign" link menu a shadow goes down with some text on it(you can try it).Right now when I click on that webdesign menu link, the other one "ipone apps" goes down too, but the owner doesn't like this. He likes that shadow, but he doesn't want to see that other menu link to be moved when he clicks on other menu link.

I've got an image for the Name & Email field in a form I've made. On click, I've got the images fade out, and replaced with the text field. The problem I have, is having the cursor go in the text field. I know it works if the text field was there when I click on it, but because clicking causes an event to put it in, it does't act like I clicked on the text field. So what I'm looking to do is at the end of the replaceWith(#name_field), I want it to simulate a click so that the cursor would automatically be in there.

Now what I would like to do is instead of populating with images from .txt file I would like to populate with code from another .html page (a html page containing a table code). I am trying to use a regEx to grab Function names and function parameter names from a text entry.
The script is written in javascript and I expect the functions to be in javascript syntax.
For example the code might look like:

I have a bunch of numbers on my page, wrapped in a particular HTML element e.g.

I am looking for a javascript function that can add these numbers together. The tricky thing is that I do not know how many numbers there might be - anything from 0 to 7.
If necessary, I can give each of the <h2>'s a unique class eg. <h2 class="a">5</h2>, <h2 class="b">1</h2> etc.

I have an application that navigates through the links in a document,
most of which are "javascript:doThisFunction(args)" type of links.
Using DOM navigation I can find the reference to the javascript
function and store it as a String variable, but is there a way to
execute the function? Currently the only way I know how to do it is
in a series of if/else statements as in:

is there a more elegant way to do this?

I have two input boxes on a form which receive the first and last name of a user. I want to be able to use charAt() to get the first letter in each box and pass it to a third box on the same form.
