I was wondering if it was possible to call a specific PHP function using AJAX instead of calling a whole page. An example:
function MakeRequest() { var xmlHttp = getXMLHTTP(); xmlHttp.onreadystatechange = function() { if(xmlHttp.readyState == 4
[Code]...
I already have a PHP function (in a class) that retrieves the provinces/states from the database based on the country. I was wondering if it was possible to call this function instead of having to make a new file (in this case FindProvinces.php) that calls the function.
i'm having trouble with some of my codes.i've been trying to put variables in function calls parameters, but it just does not work. for example, if I try to do sth like this:
Code: //a function that creates page numbers based on number of pictures that can be shown on the page function MenuBar() { pageSpan = [document.createElement('span')];[code]....
when i try to run it, it won't work.what i'm trying to do is that every time the loop runs, the "onclick" event of the created span will be the value of the loops "x" variable -1, and the value of x variable.meaning, for every new span, the parameters in the showImage() function are different.
Code: pageSpan[1].onclick = function () { showImages(0, 1) }; pageSpan[2].onclick = function () { showImages(1, 2) }; pageSpan[3].onclick = function () { showImages(2, 3) }; pageSpan[4].onclick = function () { showImages(3, 4) }; pageSpan[5].onclick = function () { showImages(4, 5) };
I know that each of the objects in the array have data because I tried to run each one of the lines above separately without calling the other two and it worked fine.
I'd like to ask how can i ask for a function inside a for loop , if i remove the loop the code works fine but i need it for 10 rows .here is the code...
I want to do exactly as mentioned on the title. You can consider this like surfing pages in traffic exchangers or PTCs. The functionality is exactly like those, though it is not for those.
This is what I have now.
Code HTML4Strict:
Currently, it shows "Page has been loaded" before even showing the "Please wait" part.
I have a function that displays a loading icon just before the ajax call starts, but I wanted to display that icon only if the ajax call takes longer than 3 seconds. My question is: How to implement a counter after the ajax call?
I found this script that hides text and would like to add a loop to the function code. I have given it my best shot but I'm afraid to say my Javascript ability is a little ordinary.with this.PHP Code:
<body> <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> function sizeTbl(h) {
Code: function initArray() { this.length = initArray.arguments.length; for (var i = 0; i < this.length; i++) {[code].....
For the above piece of code, does the function 'function initArray()' just predefine the array that is written right after so that it's first array index starts at 1 instead of 0?
var category_list = document.getElementById('category_list'); var dom_div = document.createElement('div'); dom_div.id = 'content' var dom_link = document.createElement('a'); dom_link.href ='#' dom_link.onclick = displayDiv(); val = document.createTextNode('Click'); dom_link.appendChild(val); dom_div.appendChild(dom_link); category_list.appendChild(dom_div);
The displayDiv Funcion
function displayDiv() { dv = document.getElementById('content'); //Here is the error. }
The Problem is when the following script:
dom_link.onclick = displayDiv('content'); is executed it is calling the function displayDiv(name) Here we have the code document.getElementById('content'); which throws the error.
The reason is the div container is not yet created.
What I need is the function should be called only on the click event. It should not be called while I define it to the Click Event. (ie it should not be called at the time of defining) How to achieve this.
Im trying to use jquery to try to do what the image shows: Its for a website made for iphone so im trying to add the slide effect. It all seems a little complicated, but ill explain: 1-The user clicks a link 2-A loading message (or image) appears Meanwhile, the new page loads on a hidden side (its a FULL page, not just a div)

I would like to call a function when the user either clicks out or tabs out of a field. I'm trying to update text on the page based on what the user has entered into the field. Is this possible?
I'm trying to create an accordion (jquery ui) that shows information about its items when clicked. The information for these items is grabbed from 4 locations:- one to get the item's basic structure info one to populate an 'interoperability' info box where the 'service' and 'about' properties match a box like the 'interoperability' box, but for 'similarity' info a file with user-created 'annotation' information about sub-items that could be shown.
I am using a timer to fadeOut and fadeIn some articles such that 5 articles are displayed in rotation.However, for some reason the call to fadeIn or fadeOut is causing the page to change it's y scroll position. If I am currently at the bottom of the page, the fadeIn call causes the page to scroll up.
I'm using a function to load a page into a div. When I add the class of the element I want to show (.contentpaneopen) Chrome and Safari show no content. It works OK in IE and FF.When I ommit the class it works on all browsers.
function loadContent(elementSelector, sourceUrl) { //Works in Chrome en Safari: $(""+elementSelector+"").load(""+sourceUrl+"");

I'm using this code for my website to load pages dynamically:
It works great. However, I'm using a script for tooltips as well - when I load a page that has links/abbr's that need tooltips, the JavaScript doesn't run on them. My solution to this was to add a <script> in the #content of each page that needed tooltips, except that doesn't work either.
I am using VS2008 C# with MVC architecture to build web application. I am using jquery and json to develop the application.I am making json call to server side methods using $getJSON(url, null, function(data){ }); like this.Now this function consumes some amount of time to load the data what I want is to show a gif image "loading" while all this functions finishes the display data task.
