No matter what I put in here, Firefox is going into the error; will not return success.What the server returns is just plain text, no html, thinking maybe it has something to do with This, but I can't figure it out because there are only So many options for
For some reason the success and error callbacks are not working at all. I'm using jquery.ajax to submit a form w/o page refresh through a php file. I have set the success & error callbacks but even when I changed the mysql password (to a incorrect one) I got the success message [code]...
I'm using getJSON to load data from the database onto a form. How can I specify the success & error callbacks? here's the code I'm using: EDIT: I managed to get the success callback by adding it below the $('fontSize')... but how can I set the error callback?

When using .ajax, and when before I receive any data back from the server, I would like to call a function that could display some type of 'thinking' icon. In looking a the documentation I see there is a 'success', for when after receiving data back successfully, and an 'error', for obviously when something bad happens and need to error gracefully. I do not see something like a 'beforeSuccess' function that would allow me to specify, for example, to overlay a 'thinking icon' on top of a <div> after request is sent to the server and before I get any data back. I would assume this is a pretty standard necessity in ajax applications, and probably missing something here. How exactly is this done using the .ajax methods?
I've noticed this weird behaviour of jQuery in Safari and Chrome (didn't test on Firefox as I'm using some webkit CSS extensions). After setting up the call like this:
If a timeout occurs (I switch the local webserver off), the 'success' method will be called! More than this in the textStatus parameter there is a string with "success" !!! The error handler doesn't even get called.... (As you may notice the only way I had to tell the problem, was to check the data param if it is null or 0 length. How can I avoid this?
I am writing a small data entry screen that will post the form data to a page and return a message. But i cannot get the Success or Error functions working properly.
Here's the code where strData is the posted querystring of:
I'm not sure whether it should be in a form and using the onsubmit or click of a button.
I'm Matteo and i have some problem with my website with jquery on IE8 browser. In the site I have a filter bar, partially crated with jquery. The code is that: <div id='filter_area_icons'>
I've noticed that when I click the Stop button on the browser, or navigate to another page, jQuery.ajax calls the error event. You can see the problem live at: [URL]..
I'm using jquery-1.3.2.min.js and everything works perfectly in browsers other than Explorer... It's not liking this part:
this.appendChild(E) function(){return this.domManip(arguments,true,function(E){if(this.nodeType==1){this.appendChild(E)}})} ... } I get this error:Unexpected call to method or property access. jquery-1.3.2.min.js, line 12 character 2305
I trying to make a call to an external domain using $.ajax() and it WORKS, the server receives the call, but the response in firebug errors out in jquery.js line 7760. I've been beating my head at this all day and don't feel like I've made it much further.
I suspect it has something to do with the dataType or type of the request. But I've tried all kinds of things from POST to GET to JSONP in the type. For dataType, I've also tried "html", "text", "xml", "json", and even some combos of "text html" but no success.
All I'm doing righthere is calling a Perl script on an intranet server and using the xml results to popluate a <select> element. This works on my machine but a co-worker is getting a "Permission Denied" error when this function is executing onReady
function populateGroups(){ var p = 1; var groupNames = new Array(); $.ajax({ type:"GET", .....
I had him run a tracert to that server and we all connected through the same network devices... And this works on a couple of other co-worker's computers. He also does have access to that server so that he can type in the url and get the xml results...
I'm a newbie to jquery and am using jquery version 1.4.2 in my java application. I am trying to develop an application, where I am accessing the data available in a remote server and rendering the data in an HTML page in my local system, using an Ajax call. The code works fine in IE7 and above. However, I am facing a problem in Firefox ( version 3.5.8) and google Chrome. The following error is reported in Firefox [code]
While searching in google on this error, I have found that this occurs because Firefox's security model does not allow retrieving/accessing localhost resources.Also Firefox does not allow accessing resources from other domains.The following are the source code of the html and js files [code]Is there anything that I am missing? Or, is there any other way for carrying out this functionality?
Simple routine to fadeOut a <div>, change the src in the <img> tag and text in the header, and then fadeIn the <div>. Works fine in Firefox, receive this error in IE8. New to Jquery, not sure where to look for a solution.

I am able to run below code in IE but not in FireFox. Script : var prodElement = document.getElementById('moveattrribseq '); var value = " "; prodElement .add(new Option(value,value)); : This not working in FireFox
Recently i tried to use getJSON to retrieve data from [url] and every time i tested in firefox, the console will always give me error on the line $.each(data.results, function(i,result) saying data is null. i am wondering how to solve this problem?
I have a application that uses jquery-1.6.4.jsandjquery-ui-1.8.14.custom.min.js. A call is made by a js file that works if I break on the call and single step using firebug but when run w/o the single step the call to the php in the server never seems to occure. IE doesn't seem to have this problem
I'm writing a firefox addon to readout the facebook-privacysettings of an user.

There are a lot of "Edit settings" which open a dialog like this:
The HTML code looks like this:
My solution idea was to fake the ajax call like this:
I got this parameter from Firebug, and i get the same answer as the "manual"-click. It's javascript code, beginning with "for...". however the dialog doesn't open, the DOM node isn't added and i get the alert "Error! Status = 200 OK"
So I just figured: why the comlicated way with ajax, can't I somehow fake the real manual click? If someone knows a way with ajax or faking the click?
I have a function which is called twice. It allows the elements of an array to be set to a different color, successively:
function ln8 (arrayA,color,current) { var arrayB=(typeof arrayA == 'string')? arrayA.split(',') : arrayA; var line = document.getElementById(arrayB[current]);
