JQuery :: Appending A Selector From Xml Document To A Html Div

II have tried appending ($('#div').append('selector) but all that does is just append the normal visual rendered text to my #div. What I need is the whole selector to be appended.
I tried using .html to copy of the selector over to the DOM, but nothing shows up in that specified div when I look in firebug.
I am using jqGrid to separate my nodes from the static xml file that it is working with.
Here is the node that I need copied into a div in my DOM:

I want to load an html div in a variable, modify it in another variable; and then change the document injecting the contents.
1. I load the html to be changed in a variable (code)
2. I modify an attribute of <param> using attr() and I put the result in a var (newcode)
3. I change the html in the doc
I've used the debugger, and all steps give the expected results, except of newcode.html(), which is a null string. Why?

I'm trying to read an html file using the ajax() method, and then place content from that in certain places (e.g. 'info' in my 'InfoBox' section, 'details' in my 'DetailBox section). I'm very new to jQuery, and am pretty sure I'm screwing up the selector - it's the 'data' object used in the success callback (is that the right word?)

I'm working on a list with doctypes and fases. There are n types and n fases. The fases can be ordered by dragging them.
example:
[btn Append new type]
- a
- a.1
- a.2

I have a fancybox (lightbox) to append new doctypes and fases, but after appending either one, the functions dont work anymore (dragging and opening the lightbox of the appended doctype.
The HTML gets appended without a prob. But it seems that the initiation of the draggable <ul> and the lightbox links doenst work.
I tried adding Javascript to re-initialize the functions, but this doenst work.
How can i fix the prob that appended links with the right class show the lightbox when they are clicked, and how do i make an <ul> draggble after one is added?

Is it possible to access a class from a "top" document, when the class is present and defined in another document, embedded using iframe? Doesn't seem to work out of the box.

I have an AJAX function in jquery that sends information and displays it on the spot for you. The problem is when I append the message it appends it on top of the other DIVs.
So basically this is the structure of DIVs:
When I hit submit it puts the hidden DIV over DIV1 so the results is like this:
I need it to be under DIV3 so that it logically makes sense to the user. Like so:

I am trying to load html into a div with jquery and then target a selector within the loaded html. It's not working! Here is what I have.

I'm having a problem that I can boil down to this example.

The first time I click the link, it fires and I get an alert. The second time, after I replaced the HTML contents of the DIV, it won't fire again.
why the function isn't being triggered even though I'm swapping the same content in?

Normally an SVG document is loaded/parsed/interpreted inside an HTML
document using an 'object' (or 'embed') element, although there are
supposedly other ways too. The problem is, the SVG document must be
static this way.
I want to use the DOM interface to build SVG dynamically inside an HTML
document. I am guessing I can build it inside HTML within an 'object' (or
maybe 'iframe'?) element.
My intentions/goals:
In Javascript, I construct an object 'embedSVG' which has properties and
methods for creating valid SVG elements and setting their attributes and
attribute values.
During construction, the SVG document is created with its root element.
During debugging in FF 2.0 (I'll work on an MSIE-compatible format later),
I am using the Mozilla DOM Inspector and comparing nodes when the
'object' element is loading a valid external SVG document, and when I am
appending the child representing the SVG document created by the DOM
functions.
However the child node (#document) does not specify 'svg' as the root
element, but instead 'HTML'. Something is not working.
Here is the relevant code in 'ScriptTest.html' which is the HTML in which
the SVG is supposed to be embedded. Below it is the relevant code for
'svglib.js' which is supposed to contain code for building the SVG
dynamically.
What this code is supposed to do is load the HTML page and execute the
anonymous script, and draw a navy blue-bordered yellow rectangle on a
blank page. This is similar to the example in the SVG 1.1 W3C
Recommendation on page 202 of the 719-page PDF.
I am getting an exception when embedSVG object placeInHTML() method is
called: NS_ERROR_DOM_HIERARCHY_REQUEST_ERR. I find in DOM Inspector in
spite of or after the exception that a document is placed as a child of
the object element, but it is HTML, with a default 'head', 'title',
'body' elements placed.
Where am I blowing it?

Is there no plug in that can convert html+css to a PDF document. I develop in PHP and I am having a huge headache trying to get this to work. The PHP PDF libraries that I have tested are not good with HTML, the conversion always fails.
