JQuery :: Error Removing Html From A Div - Appending ?
Oct 21, 2010
You will need to see the attached code,copy and paste to a location on your computer and then browse to see the problem. I'm pretty sure it's something small, but I can't see it.
II have tried appending ($('#div').append('selector) but all that does is just append the normal visual rendered text to my #div. What I need is the whole selector to be appended.
I tried using .html to copy of the selector over to the DOM, but nothing shows up in that specified div when I look in firebug.
I am using jqGrid to separate my nodes from the static xml file that it is working with.
Here is the node that I need copied into a div in my DOM:
I'm trying to read an html file using the ajax() method, and then place content from that in certain places (e.g. 'info' in my 'InfoBox' section, 'details' in my 'DetailBox section). I'm very new to jQuery, and am pretty sure I'm screwing up the selector - it's the 'data' object used in the success callback (is that the right word?)
I want to append the content of an already defined "old div" tag to the "new div" tag dynamically but how to do this. The code i tried is attached below. how to remove that appended div tag dynamically?
<html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function add() {
I'm working on a list with doctypes and fases. There are n types and n fases. The fases can be ordered by dragging them.
example:
[btn Append new type] - a - a.1 - a.2
[Code]....
I have a fancybox (lightbox) to append new doctypes and fases, but after appending either one, the functions dont work anymore (dragging and opening the lightbox of the appended doctype.
The HTML gets appended without a prob. But it seems that the initiation of the draggable <ul> and the lightbox links doenst work.
I tried adding Javascript to re-initialize the functions, but this doenst work.
How can i fix the prob that appended links with the right class show the lightbox when they are clicked, and how do i make an <ul> draggble after one is added?
p.s. function appendFase(docTypeId,appendThis){ $(docTypeId).append(appendThis); $(docTypeId).sortable('refresh'); } gives error's...
I'm writing examples for placing standards-compliant java applets in XHTML or HTML documents. And I'm also testing with Javascript. At some point, I created two 'object' elements, each with their 'param' children. Code:
I have an AJAX function in jquery that sends information and displays it on the spot for you. The problem is when I append the message it appends it on top of the other DIVs.
So basically this is the structure of DIVs:
When I hit submit it puts the hidden DIV over DIV1 so the results is like this:
I need it to be under DIV3 so that it logically makes sense to the user. Like so:
Code: <script type="text/javscript" src="jquery-1.3.2.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- function doItAll(){ var a_p = ""; var d = new Date(); [Code]...
when is bind some jquery events to, for example, <p id="test">. and later i remove this HTML with jquery should i unbind all events first or are they unbinded with removing the html?
This code was working originally. Then I had made some modifications and things weren't going right so I went back to how it was originally, and now it's not working!What this does is add a file text box when you click a button & then remove it when you click on its link. I get an error though when I click the Remove link saying that its argument is invalid. I don't understand why since its the exact same line of code the Add button has except assigned to a new variable.
This is the line that's coming up with the error: var d = document.getElementById('addToDiv'); in the removeAdditionalFile function. The error message says 'Invalid Argument'.
Here's the javascript:
function addFileTextbox() { var a = document.getElementById('addToDiv'); var b = document.getElementById('theValue');
Why isn't this code working? I can add items but only remove the ones originally added in the source code, not the ones dynamically added. <form><div class="list"> <div class="item"> <input type="text" value="" /> <a href=""class="removeitem">Remove this item</a> </div><div class="item"> <input type="text" value="" /> <a href="" class="removeitem">Remove this item</a> </div><a href="" class="additem">Add item to list</a> </div></form> <script type="text/javascript"> // Add item to list $('.additem').click(function(){ var template = $($(this).prev().get(0)).clone(); template.insertBefore($(this)); return false; }); // Remove item from list $('.removeitem').click(function(){ $(this).prev().parent().remove(); return false; }); </script>
I'm trying to remove an html element in the example below. I don't see the "bye" message at the end and there are no errors reported in Firefox or exceptions caught if I wrap the remove child line in a try-catch. Any ideas what is wrong?
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"> <html lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"> <title>garbage</title> </head> <body>
<div id="my_div">hi<div>
<script type='text/javascript'> var my_div = document.getElementById("my_div"); my_div.parentNode.removeChild(my_div); document.write("bye"); </script>
I need some help creating some regular expressions that remove specific html tags...the script/expression will run when a button is clicked (i.e. "Remove Bold" button will remove <b> </b>).
currently I have these expressions working but they do not accomplish what exactly what I am after...Actually the functionality I'm looking for will incorperate both, however I can't seem to get it to work properly...
data.replace(/<[^>]+>/ig,"")+""); - this removes all tags (no matter what kind), I would like it to be a little less "greedy" and only remove specific tags. i.e: Input = <u><b>THIS IS SOME DATA</b></u> Output= THIS IS SOME DATA
data.replace(/<(B|b)[^>]*>[^<]*(</B>|</b>)/ig,"")+""); - this removes bold tags and will leave other tags like <u> behind, exactly what I was looking for. However, it also removes the content/data that is wrapped in the tag. i.e: Input = <u><b>THIS IS SOME DATA</b></u> Output= <u></u>
In the above example what I would like to happen is: Input = <b><u>THIS IS SOME DATA</u></b> Output= <u>THIS IS SOME DATA</u>
I'm trying to write a script to remove <script> tags and everything between. This is to simply remove all Javascript from code automatically. I originally tried to split the input from a textarea using RegEx but I'm not getting matches properly.
I want to enhance the script to increment the index of the last List element in the last row of my table.
Here's my jsp snippet:
My jQuery script is as follows:
The table i want to insert a row to has class 'tableAddRow' and the button that adds a new row has class 'addRow'. The problem I'm having is that when i click the addRow button, the browser freezes and a popup to stop the script comes up.
I have written some JavaScript that I can use to remove a table row from a table. If I have the table:
[Code]...
I also have JavaScript that will add a row to the same table. I've found that if I add a bunch of rows, when I delete one, there is a small amount of whitespace added between the permanent row and the others. It seems like while the row is removed, some remnants of it remain. Is there a way to get rid of it completely?
Im having a problem with the jquery .append in IE8.
Im displaying a model screen of a div section that has been built with the .append method.
The modal works fine in FF and Chrome, but AS USUAL, IE is not working correctly. The data is not being appended to the div. When I put in in IE in IE8 mode it works fine.
What is the proper way to .append to an element that has been appended? I'm creating a unordered list via jQuery and attempting to append list elements to said list but those elements, loaded from an XML file, duplicate themselves when I do this.
When I append those list elements to an html element that is hard coded into my html file, this does not happen.
I'm sure the answer to this question has to do with iterating over each element in the wrapped set, but I still don't understand why. I have a number of anchors in my page that have a class named Get.I want to append a querystring name value pair to the end of each href.
$( '.Get').attr('href').append('&id=' + id); does not work. Can someone tell me why and what is the correct solution.
'm trying to use jQuery to append to the onchange event of each of the following input elements. The following code actually replaces the event. When the onchange event fires on any of the elements, I get one alert which just says "new". What I would like to see is 2 alerts, one that says "test?" where ? is the element that changed and another that says "new".
