Okay, I've been searching through here for a day, but haven't quite found what I need. I'm rebuilding my client's site to update the code and get it off of Yahoo's CMS.My rebuilt siteis nearly complete, except the navigation. I want to keep the function that each menu requires a click to open, not just a hover. Unfortunately, the rebuilt site's menu doesn't function and it'll require absolute links to work in the various root and sub folders.This is one suggestion I found in the archives here, expand5.htm, but it doesn't quite look like what I need.I have other sites that are for persons with disabilities that this could be useful for, so I need to be able to reproduce the results.

I'm designing a quiz page with feedback that is supposed to appear in a popup window. Here's a sample page: [URL] (Fix the link; I can't post proper links until I've been here a bit longer.) I'm using the Greybox popup window library to display the feedback. I know the popups work if I use links, but I need the popups to appear when a the radio button is checked.
According to the Greybox reference [URL], the onclick event should have the form:
GB_showCenter(caption, url, /* optional */ height, width, callback_fn)
I tried inserting this into the radio button code:
<input name="question" type="radio" id="ansA" onclick="GB_showCenter('Answer', feedback/feedback1-1.htm, 250, 400)" />
But it doesn't do anything. How do I trigger the popups with a radio button click?

for example let's say we have:<a id="link" href="google.com">click</a>I want to be able to click the link, as if the click was made by the user ( left mouse button click ).I know I can do this way:document.location.href = $('#link').attr("href");but I believe it's not the same thing as if the user make that click.

The aim is a roll over button. It works on hover, and shows the two images however I can't seem to make them link to their individual pages. First question, How do you put in the a href code correctly? Maybe I'm using the wrong formula although I've reasearched heaps of other alternatives and I just can't seem to make it work.Second question, Anyone know how to bind this all up intoa simplier code?

I started with the simplest step - the hide() function:
$(document).ready(function(){
$("a#p").click(function(event){
$("#HiddenDiv").hide();
})
});
It worked fine as long as the href attribute of the anchor tag was '#'. Then I tried using href other than '#' and ran into a problem. I just changed the href to:
<a id="p" href="test.php">Click me</a><br />
<div id="HiddenDiv">Testing mate</div>
test.php is the page in which both these sections (html and jquery) are present, so like a postback to the same page.
This method didn't work and on clicking the anchor tag, the div stayed visible.
I then tried theevent.preventDefault(); method and that worked.
So I experimented more. I tried using the hide function on a dynamic link, something like test.php?a=1.
I ran into a problem again. The div remained visible on clicking that link.

Im trying to prevent the user from clicking any other links on my page when
the user have selected/clicked a href once.
Sometimes it takes a while before the next page loads so some user will try
clicking other links or the same link.
I can prevent this when i use buttons by calling onclick and in a javascript
getElementsByTagName("input") and then check the type to be type of "button"
or "submit" which i then disable. It works.
This also works for href html tags by calling onclick and in a javascript
remove all href, BUT it also stops everything, even the request that is
about to happen.
If i use disable getElementsByTagName("a") on href like with buttons it does
not get unclickable just get a grey color but you can click on it.
Any workaround to this? This is a seriuos web app so I want the solution
where i disable ALL links on my page so it is not possible to click on any
after the first time.
All the links is NOT in a form only links using <a href="gosomeplace"> click
this link</a> .

I'm using the following code (simplified version) to call a Json file, parse it and on each iteration, create a div with an ID of "tab". I'm using this with jQuery UI .tab() to create a listing with entries which have three tabs. Anyhow, the principle seems to work except that when I examine what's happening behind the scenes using Firefox console, I see that each href in the html code produced is causing the Json function to re-fire using the href as it's url target.

I have a page that I am using, where when a link is clicked a div on the page has its content changed based on which link is clicked. I use jquery to cause the Div to slide into existence when the link is clicked. What im trying to do now is make it so that, when an image is clicked from within the div, that it slides out of existence again.
<script language="javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#toggleButton').click(function() {
if ($('#toggleSection').is(":hidden"))
[Code].....
That code works great for the menu, making the div slide into and out of existence. However the menu is a drop down menu and I'd like to be able to close the div without having to go back to the menu. So I tried putting an image into the content that gets loaded, with a link similar to the ones in the menu, but when it gets clicked nothing happens.
I've tried a number of different things, from creating a special function for it, to assigning extra classes and trying to catch the click by the images class instead of its ID, ive made sure that clicking on the image was working but inserting an Alert and that worked, but the slideup/down did not.

I'm doing a datepicker. On this datepicker I must let some days active or inactive depending some data on my DB. I obtain 2 strings arrays from my DB.
I should do this with the current (on beforeshowday) date to activate or deactivate:
The arrays arrive fine, the javascript search for the current date inside of my arrays and seems that it makes the correct return, but when the day picker it's shown all days are deactivated. I've debugged with explorer and make the correct return but after it's shown badly.

<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#desperation input[type=image]').attr('disabled', true).fadeTo

$('#1').attr('disabled', false).fadeTo("fast", 0.70);

$('#1').toggle(
function () {
$('#1').click(function() {
$('#1').fadeTo("fast", 1.00).attr('checked', true);
$('#2').attr('disabled', false);
});},
function () {
$('#1').click(function() {
$('#1').fadeTo("fast", 0.70).attr('checked', false);
$('#2').attr('disabled', true);

I would like to create a series of checkboxes that would define a particular entity by it's attributes. For example let's say I have some check boxes that say
age limit 18+ [X]
Hip Hop [ ]
Electronica Dance [X]
Least expensive [ ]
[moderately expensive [ ]
These selections above will activate, deactivate, highlight, or bold selections below
Club one
Club two
Club three
And when unchecked all the links are unfiltered
Etc...
When these check boxes are checked in any combination it would remove the hyperlink or highlight/bold the hyperlink of whatever is filtered Would really like someone to point me in the right direction on how to structure this.
