Are there any good web UI component libraries -open source or commercial - that you can recomment? They need to be cross browser compatible and have good documentation. Jquery UI is very good but limited in number of controls it offers. YUI is very verbose and very hard to use. extJs only other one I can think of. Any others you use and like?
I've built a complex web application that loads content into the main page using .load of php pages. Some of those pages are using datepicker and timepicker. I have these working ok to a point, but there is some troubling behaviour. e.g. sometimes when clicking a date field, the calendar doesn't appear. The timepicker seems to work ok most of the time. Clicking around like a loon on various pages sometimes makes the field work with dates, but other times not.
Sometimes I see the calendar display stays on the page even when new content is loaded. Summary is that the datepicker works perfectly, but then it stops working, then starts again.. Now I have a mix of calls to google and local source code .js and ui and tools which is perhaps complicating things. I'm not sure if this is a problem with coding, or the doc ready function being used in 'child' pages.
I am a new to jQuery and am trying to install the TimePicker plugins. [URL]. I have downloaded the files and uploaded them to my site. The code I have looks like this: In Header: <script src="[URL]" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="[URL]" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="scripts/jquery-ui-timepicker-0.2.9/jquery.ui.timepicker.js"></script> $('#timepicker').timepicker(); In body: <input id="timepicker" type="text" name="leave">
I have a page with 10 buttons, when the user presses a button it shows/hides the respective <div> containing the information. However if they show a div and try to show another before hiding the last one both of them are visible.Is there a way to iterate through all the div names and hide all off them and then show only the one that was selected?
I am having some real trouble figuring out how I can hide and show divs one at a time, a bit like an accordian. Currently, I have several buttons, which open and close a div containing a ul menu. What I am trying to achieve is to only have one div showing at a time.
So for instance, when the page loads no divs are displayed, just the buttons. You click a button a div slides out. you click another button this div closes and another opens. I am new to jQuery, but working hard to understand and learn. So far I have the below for each button (div).
There is a div. When the mouse is over it the div is shown and it is hidden when the mouse is out. The script is here.
<script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { function runToggle(){ $("#effect").toggle('blind', [], 500); };
[Code]....
The problem is that there is no time delay for showing/hidding the div. When the mouse is over/out the div several times, the div is shown/hidden several times as well. How can I have the code to prevent this behaviour and only display/hide the div when the mouse stays on/out the div for a second?
Is there a way to add a convert and convertBack function for data link plugin outside of passing in the map object? What I'd like to accomplish is have a few custom predefined converts and then on document load add them based on classes found in the form.
I have a container <div> with a link inside of it. What I need to do is change the background of the <div> and the color of the link text at the same time.I can change the color of the link when I hover over it, but not when I hover over the <div>I have columns of links and each column is the width of the longest link so there are some links with "space" to the right of the link. When that "space" is hovered over the background of the div changes but not the color of the link text.The menulinkbox is the container and there are, for example, 4 columns with 4 rows in each column. When I hover over a column + row I want the menulinkbox's background to change *and* the color of the <a> text to change.
I have a UL group with multiple LI items, and each LI has a DL with a DT and DD inside. What I am trying to do is show EACH LI's DT, but not the DD. The DD will only show once the DT has been clicked (except for the first, which should be visible on page load.here is the structure code ... I am struggling to make this work using jQuery show/hide functionailty.
<!-- LIST --> <ul class="examples"> <!-- ITEM #1 -->
What I'm trying to do is, a jquery script to show in real time the total price. I got this: <li>Users</li> <li> <select name="users" id="users"> <option value='1'>1</option> <option value='2'>2</option> <option value='3'>3</option> <option value='4'>4</option> <option value='5'>5</option> <option value='6'>6</option> <option value='7'>7</option> <option value='8'>8</option> <option value='9'>9</option> <option value='10'>10</option> </select> </li>
1 Month and 1 User price should be 0.50 USD +1 Month = + 0.50 USD + 1 User = + 0.50 USD Example: 5 Users + 2 Months = 3.50 USD I wanna make the jquery to show the total price at li class="price".
I'm currently creating a simple shoutbox system. The whole shoutbox is in one DIV (shout_box). The DIV shows the 8 latest posts and below that you can enter a new shout / post. I used some script to submit the new post to a PHP page which fetches the data using Post. Then the script displays the message that the post has been added. This works great! However after 5 seconds I want the original DIV contents to reload (the 8 latest posts and the form to add posts. is that possible to do? I think it is, but don't really now where to begin.
I currently got the code below: var dataString = 'message='+message; //alert (dataString);return false; $.ajax({
I'm sure this has been brought up on these forums multiple times about showing and hiding div tags via links that you click on. The majority of ones that I found have you click a link to open the div and if you click the same link again, the div closes like it should.
But my problem involves multiple links and multiple div files that need to open the div assigned to it when clicked but also hide any previous divs that were shown with previous link clicks.
My Javascript in the head
Code: <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- Show arrow on link click function showArrow(id) {
I start to create a page with a vertical menu, and when the user click in one item, jquery function create a new tab with the name of the item clicked and show the corresponding page. and the user can close this tab. But my problem is: when the page loaded contain links, this link repeated in all the other pages loaded, and when I click in this link , it doesn't add to the tab.
I got the Timepicker add-on to the Datepicker and it works almost too good. Many users accidentally hit the "Now" (as in "enter the current time") button and think there's something wrong when the current time shows up. Since this function has no use in my form, I want to disable it. How do I do that?
I have multiple divs called article which have a show/hide link to toggle a div inside called articleBody. Problem is when I click the link all divs show/hide. The html structure is below:
<div class="article"> <p class="show"><a href="#">Hide [-]</a></p> <div class="articleBody"><!-- Stuff i need to hide on click</div> </div>
how I can toggle the text to say show/hide as well as just closing that one instance of div article rather than every instance on the page?
I have 11 elements with long description of each element of them. I decided to display the elements on the sidebar and the description of each one of them will be displayed on the body directly when the user clicks on the element.but the problem with this one is put the content (or description) inside the javascript code, and I want the description be on the HTML code to make it later on flexible for changes by the admin after putting the data including the description of these elements on the database instead of hard-coded style.
6. Display a message saying Good Morning if it is in the morning, Good Afternoon if it is in the afternoon, and Good Evening if it is in the Evening. This is my code:
I have many links on my page. When the user moves over one of the Links, i want to show two or three small icons (perhaps fade in) on the right side of the link so the user could click on it. When the user moves to another link, the previous shown icons should be hidden (perhaps fade out) and the new icons which belong the new link should be shown and made visible. Is this possible?
I have a table that contains information that is hidden within a 'td' element. Users can access this information if they wish by clicking on a link that is held in another 'td' element on the previous row (table structure below):
I need a javascript code that allows me to hide a link at a certain time and show the link again at a certain time. my project requirement is that i need to be able to hide the link at a certain period of time to restrict users from acessing it.only from 12pm to 2pm the link will be display, users are able to click the link. after and before that timing, the link will not be displayed[hide] or the when click on the link error message will be shown.
