this.change(function() { resetExitSurveyTimer(); });

I have created a page that takes several txt inputs and outputs html and javascript code to be copied and pasted by the user into a html capable text area of a document in creation. when that document in creation is loaded by the user it creates a popup window filled with textual info adjacent to their main content. Problem: I am able to convert the text in which contains apostrophes to "'" so that they don't break the code lines but not able to convert them back once the content is finally displayed on the final page.
Code:
clnParaOne = txtParaOne.replace(/'/g,''');
var output ="//code to output";
+"var popup=window.open('_blank','','width=1280,height=1024,"+marginLeft+",top=0');"

Within an aspx page, I have a form with asp controls (text boxes) that I'm loading within a jQuery modal popup dialog. Once the user fills out the form and the register button is clicked in the modal form, it invokes a code-behind function, which seems to be working fine. However, the problem I'm facing is in the code-behind function; none of the field values in the modal popup form are being passed to the code-behind function.I was unable to attach some snapshots directly to the post, so I uploaded it at the following urls:

I've been messing with this code for about a couple of hours, and I did everything down to the wire..yet still I am unable to get it to work. When I input the numbers, and click off to the side nothing appears down at the final textarea of the form which is suppose to show the average.I've tried just about everything, sadly all I have to go by is other example codes, and the very intricate instructions which states I must pass the values to the calcAvg() to the second function of performCalc(), which I did, and then I assigned the var calcResult another value. From there I did the return..and after that I'm rather loss as to what to do next to get this code to work, any tips?

The code below lays out 3 divs, the 1st. div contains a slideshow, the 2nd. div is a container for the 3rd div which contains buttons to override the slideshow and replace it with a new image in the slidshow div.
All the above scenario works perfectly.
Where I run into trouble is as follows:
1. When a button is hover, the image needs to change but I already have a onmouseover() function for each button
2. When the image changes, it need to have a href to example: file8.php to open in _self - I have 2 commented lines in my changeIt function to show the last things I tried. code...

I have an Autocomplete widget inside a function that works slightly differently depending on the country. It works. I want the user to be able to switch from country to country to country. I started with
getCityFromGeonames("#city2"); //select town via 2 steps - country, town
getCityFromGeonames("#city3"); //select town via 3 steps - country, stateProvince, town
This will select in the city2 input, then in the city3 input, then no further action is possible until you reload the page. So I put a change function around it.
$("#city2").change(function ()
{
getCityFromGeonames("#city2"); //select town via 2 steps - country, town
getCityFromGeonames("#city3"); //select town via 3 steps - country, stateProvince, town
).change();

I know in JavaScript you are able to write functions that you can just call at a later time. I'm working on a jQuery UI slider, and I wrote a function for the animation that happens when you start sliding. I would also like this same function to fire for the "change" event, but I can't seem to get it to work.
Here is the shortened code sample:
$(function(){
var posterO = $(".poster-slider")
.slider({
slide: function(event, ui){
//This is the function I would like to reuse at "change", below
poster.css(...);
posterLi.css( ... );
ptCopy.css( ... );
sliderValue = ui.value;
},
//change:,
animate:true
});
//When "#abundant-trees" link is clicked, the slider handle changes, firing the "change" event, but the "slide" function is not called.
$("#poster-switcher a[href=#abundant-trees]").click(function(link){
posterO.slider("value", 100);
link.preventDefault(); //Stop browser from following the link that was clicked on.
})});
I would like to apply the "slide" function to the "change" event without having to duplicate all the code.

I have a select form with id=px. I want to make the select execute a function every time an option is selected. I took the Change function and my code looks like this:
$("#px").change(function () {
var str = "";
$("#px option:selected").each(function () {
str += $(this).text() + " ";
});
// $("div").text(str); - this line is changed with my function
$('#selectable1 span.cica').css('font-size', str + "px");
})
.change();
It looks that srt variable is not working with my .css function. What is wrong?
My markup is:
<select id="px">
<option class="option" value="8" label="8">8</option>
<option class="option" value="9" label="9">9</option>
<option class="option" value="10" label="10">10</option>
<option class="option" value="11" label="11">11</option>
<option class="option" value="12" label="12">12</option>
<option class="option" value="14" label="14">14</option>
<option class="option" value="18" label="18">18</option>
<option class="option" value="21" label="21">21</option>

Having an issue with the .change functionality on a form selector in IE8 which I have not been able to figure out, and is now driving me insane.
When the select is change to an item with a value of 1, it is supposed to set the values of two textboxes to blank. Eg;[code]...
The most interesting thing is when I run this through jsfiddle to test it - it works perfectly there, but not when in our actual website (an intranet with a FQDN, and IE8 is set up to run such pages in standards mode, and not the default of compatibility mode).
Using latest version of jQuery (1.4.2-min), and no success. Same issues occurred when trying it in 1.2.6.

I have a form that is initially submitted by normal submit button, but after that I want it to resubmit on change(). I thought I'd be able to pick up the secondary change()s by adding a class to all of the inputs. However I now understand that won't work by default because the change() can't be attached to the class added by the the submit() as it didn't exist at the time, it was added by Jquery. I've since discovered on() but I'm now stuck on where to include it.
Here's the script so far:
The submit() adds the 'stu' class, and then the change() tries to select it but can't
<script>
$(document).ready( function(){
$("#search_choices").submit( function(evt){
runSearch();
$("input").addClass("stu");
evt.preventDefault();
});
});
$('.stu').change( function(){
runSearch();
});
function runSearch(){
var sFor
= $("#for").val(),
sWhere
= $('input[name=where]:radio:checked').val();
$("#search_results").load('search.php', { where: sWhere, treb: sFor } );
};
</script>

I don't really know how to say this, that's why I'm going to show you some code which will hopefully point out what I mean.This is what I wrote yesterday:
var div = $('<div></div>').attr('id','box').fadeIn(1250);
$('body').append(div);
This worked well, but then I wanted to make a function to be able to change the innerHTML of that div but it didn't work.
function changeContent(content) {
var box = $('#box');
box.html(content);

My change function allows users to switch from country to country and get different text and features. It works when changing country selections. But at initial page load, it does not fire jQuery change to set the text for the default / initial country. When I change away and then back to the default/initial country, change fires and shows the proper information and features. I have tried document.ready with a change function both inside the switch selections and outside the change function. Neither work - they don't fire the hide, show and other jQuery in the switch cases at doc ready. Its not clear to me what function will fire the jQuery change function at doc ready. Here's the code. The country selection below is just 2 countries to keep it simple, but actually, there are many.

I have multiple inputs with names like "price1","price2" etc. and they added in the document dynamically after a user event.
I want to bind a function to them so everytime a change event occur to each one, i can calculate the new price. I try to use $("input[name*='price']").each(function(index){}); but I can't to this with live method and combine the change event too.

I wrote this function to be a change event applied to a checkbox. Now it is apparent I need to use it as a custom validator method, so it runs when you hit "Next" to step through the form. I have all that working, I just can't get the syntax of the rule right.
Here it is as a change event:
$(
'#MKDPT'
).change(
function(){
if(
$(
'#MKDPT'
).is(
':checked'
)){
var
checked
=
false
; .....
And my attempt at a custom validation rule:
$
.
validator
.
addMethod (
"MKDPTOnly" ,
function (
value .....
I have tried several versions, but none is letting the form go to the next step (return true) if the conditions are met.
