How can i trigger scroll on a select menu? I tried to do it a lot. but I couldn't find any tricks. Please help me to do that.
ie, when i scroll on a country lists, without expanding the lists, how can i change values according to that scoll.
Currently I am using an onchange event on a select menu and it is working fine. But if the user uses any arrow keys the event will not trigger. Is there any way to do that?

Clicking accordion elements scrolls a main div into position (y-axis). However, i would like to trigger the accordion externally. More specifically, if the user manually scrolls the main content div (using the browser scrollbar or their mousewheel) i would like to trigger the relative accordion section based on the scroll (y-axis) position of the scrolling div. What would be the best way/plugin for achieving this?
The positions would be very specific so there could be an array of y-pos values. Alternatively, for the accordion scroll function anchor links are already set up in the main scrolling div so would this be the best option? I'm just struggling to see how to achieve this.
I have been trying to develop a simple method of styling the button on select dropdowns. Basically just positioning a span of the button on a select box that is styled as required.

Ok so I have a site that I want to automatically close the window when the focus is lost from the page. For example, if the user clicks off the page to something else on there desktop I want the page to close. So far I have managed to do this but the grids on my page and the scroll bars all trigger the close function when clicked on. Is there anyway to make the scroll bars and drop down boxes not trigger the function?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anyone had already built the jQuery equivalent of the menu on Google's livingstories that scrolls with the page to the top then sits at the top until the page is scrolled back down. If you haven't seen it, here's an example [URL}.. It doesn't work in IE, but in other modern browsers, the menu on the right ("Timeline of important events") starts out 450+ pixels down the page, below headers and other page chrome, but when it would otherwise scroll off the screen it switches to "position: fixed; top: 0" If the whole thing does not fit on the page, as you scroll near the bottom it switches again to "position: relative; top: NNNpx" where NNN is presumably the difference between the position of the top of the footer and height of the menu.
It's a nice effect that I haven't seen before, and I was wondering if anyone had already created something like this as a jQuery plug-in.

I have a verticle dropdown menu, which works nicely. The problem is when the window is resized the menu and submenu stay's in it's fixed position, this means that user has to scroll down the page to access bottom links of large submenus. Is there a way to make the menu's shift up depending on the elements in them and the size of window or even have a scroll bar.

I'm having problems with a Javascript 'Lookup' function.
Basically, I have a select menu 'Customer' which triggers a 3 JS functions, to populate 2 extra select menus.
Using IE Developer Tools, during debugging, I get this error: Expected ';' Error
This relates to either: eval(ajax_CustContact[index].response); OR eval(ajax_CostCentreContact[index].response); (it's a bit random, as sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't)
I have tried changing the 'custid' to 'custname' to check whether it was an integer causing the problem, but had the same problem.
We have a list of items that each has a different quantity available. So I am going to create a multiple select menu, where they can select several different items. So, how can I make it that when they leave the field it sends all the different ones to the ajax program to build all the appropriate quantity forms?

bars are controlled by the OS/Browser and there are no ways to change

I'm trying to create a scrolling menu. Example here [URL] I don't think there's an issue with the javascript necessarily. I've tried alternatively using jquery's animate function with scrollLeft and I still get the flickering. I'm thinking it's more to do with the HTML/CSS. For instance I'm wondering if using a table instead of a floated list for the menu might be a step in the right direction.

I'm beginner in jQuery and trying to write "add/remove div object" script.
I found on web some examples how to do it but... there's two problems.
Firstly I want to add some DIV when user choose any value from select list html object and absolutely don't know how to do it...
Secondly - every new DIV object created by select list from html must have (inside of this div) something like "remove me link" which of course should deleted this DIV from page.
say i have a select menu "select1" with several options available. And a color "color" menu with several options for color. Inside my "select1" option list i have a "variety" option.With this option selected i no longer need the "color" menu at all. I need a javascript or jquery that will make it so that when "variety" is selected it then hides the "color" select menu.
