i have a question about json and jQuery.post [URL].. I can send info through jQuery.post (json or xml format), but, how can I send info without echo json?? (echo json_encode($info) )
I want to send information to a website the same way i would send throught the buttons and text fields that it lets me use but instead by using javascript from my pc .
I am currently working on a project that requires pretty large bits of jQuery (atleast for me) and once I get this function working I can solve more required functions but I have problems getting this to work. Basically what im trying to do is, when a link is clicked (within a certain div) it reads out the class of that link and searches within XML or JSON for the title and then finds the description within that record.
I have a web service that accepts application/json but returns HTML to place in a DIV. I am not having any luck configuring the .ajax call so that it both POSTs in a format accepted by the web service and does not attempt to validate the HTML response as JSON.

It would seem that I cannot have anything other than 'json' in the dataType, even though from the docs it appears that this only affects the interpretation of the response, changing it's value to 'html' causes the web service to reject the call. I've also tried a converter but perhaps I'm not using it properly. Is it possible to use jquery to post JSON and get back HTML? What configurations am I missing?
i just leanerd the existence of the ajaxSubmit jQuery plugin,im wondering if there is a way to use the JSON both to send and retrieve the requests .I mean, no the plugin have the option 'dataType',that is used to specify the format that the server will send back, but i need to send the form as jquery to the server. For example, if my form looks like:
I'm working on a very Javascript heavy application, and we've set up a number of different Objects to handle the data on the page. Very often, we'll need to send all of the data from these objects to PHP. Right now, we're using JSON.stringify. Are there any issues with this? It seem's like it does exactly what we need, but are there any downsides?
I'm looking to fill out an input box, and onBlur get info from the database and echo it. Very similar to how you register on this site, when you fill out a username, onBlur it checks to see if the username is available and echos yes or no. I want to fill out a username, and when you click out of the textbox, echo the First and Last name if it exists.
I have been doing google map and display the google map in my profile page. The flow of my web application is login page-> profile page I wanted to have only one marker and echo the logged in user's name and address in infowindow of the google map. However, i can only echo all users in my database and show all markers to the google map.
but the problem is that when I put this in a PHP echo, like so
// retrieve the session information $u = $_SESSION['username']; $uid = $_SESSION['loginid']; // display the user box

the javascript does not work because the ' interferes I'm assuming. So is there a way to accomplish the show/hide without using some sort of code that would interfere with the php echo?
I have a form, that when the user click Submit, I need a php variable to be echoed to the page. This is for an upload page. So when they are waiting for the file to upload, it will say "Uploading..." until the upload is complete.
All I know so far is I need to create a javascript function and include it in the submit button. This is all I have so far in the submit button tag: onClick="Transferring();"
I'm trying to echo a php variable to my javascript function but nothing is happening.Basically this php page displays bunch of records with a radio button next to each record. So when the radio button is clicked it would open that record in a new window that is clicked.
I have a html file that I want to load, loop through the json data and for each json entry I want to add a new block of the html and insert the json data into the matching div/class of the html. json looks like this:
So for each json entry of name/age, I want to insert that into the html, and then add another row, until all json data has been fetched. After this I want to insert all of this into #box, which is just a divthat should contain that html. Looping like this obviously does not work, since I just keep replacing the same html through the loop.
I am trying to do a simple echo onclick, but despite what I try to do, it shows no errors, but won't work. I've tried things like: echo "<div onclick="alert('test');">t</div>"; echo '<div onclick="alert('test');">t</div>'; But just can't seem to get it to work right. I'm trying to do this on a script that is being eval on the ajax request. Thus I'm having problems placing the ',", marks.
I have a JSON structure in API.When I call the API in my code it returns as the same JSON .I have to print this JSON result as table with pagination in Javascript. The table should be dynamic with previous and next buttons and the table should populate the results according to the JSON and each page should have 20 entries and then the remaining entries should go on the next page and I should be able to go back and forth in the table using previous and next respectively.tell me the exact code of how to start with getting JSON from the API and then write the JSON data in the form of dynamic table with pagination.
Then when it is submitted, the data will be processed and the script which is processing the data will echo some data on-screen based on the data from the form.I need this to happen in an AJAX manner, ie: the page won't need to reload.how to go about doing this? I'll be using jQuery on the same page in case
