If I try to access the value of this dynamically generated field (i.e. $("#field").val()), I don't have any value returned. I understand this may be because jquery doesn't detect it as being a part of the DOM or something along those lines.
So, I have a form that, when the user clicks on a link, uses J/S to generate extra form fields for extra information. I can retrieve the value of the dynamically generated fields using $_POST in I.E., but it doesn't work in Firefox (no value is returned). Retrieving values for the static fields is fine in both I.E. and Firefox.
Here's the code - is there a function I'm using that could be replaced with something more friendly to Firefox?:
<script type='text/javascript'> var i = 1; function addArea() { var newArea = addElement();
I am looking for a solutions for the following problem, I need to access at database from within a website, from where I can retrive a specific document in the database and mailing it to someone else. Is it possible to pass information back from a popup window?
I am looking to open a popup from our internet site to our web based mainframe app (HATS). I would like to send some strings from this popup page back to text fields in the calling page to populate a form. Does this sound possible?
I am having trouble populating elements from the following Yahoo RSS feed: [URL] I need to show the current weather conditions when a button is clicked. Here is what I have so far.
[Code].....
I need to populate the <h1> and two <p> elements. I know that the copyWeatherData() and getWeatherData() functions are not coded properly.
i am having problem with the addition of values in the amount field.before i created 5 rows manually in the first table and used addAll() function. It was working fine.but now when am adding/deleting rows dynamically the same function is giving me problem in addition.
Im having the weirdest problems with my ajax. Now first off i have horrible coding convention!! I have one Ajax.js file which handles all my ajax requests and one ajax.php file which handles retrieving data from a database. The problem I am having is when ever I call a certain method which contains a if statement and runs the respective ajax function, it sometimes evaluates the if statement wrong. The weirdest thing of all is when I use FireFox's firebug and step through the javascript code to see why its evaluating the if statement wrong, it evaluates it correctly.
So basically if I don't step through the javascript code it evaluates the if statement wrong which means one of my variables are not being set in time for it to be used in the if statement. BUT if i step through the code with firebug it evaluates the if statement correctly! Now I have tried this is all the browsers and sometimes it evaluates the if statement correctly and when i keep refreshing the page it will sometimes evaluate the if statement correctly! Now I know this makes no sense, but I'm just as confused! The only reason I can think why this is happening is that one of my variables are not being set in time for the if statement to use it!!
i have java script below. i am retrieving states from mysql database and list them dropdown menu. oscommerce, mysql and php. this script works well when it is embedded between head tags to each php file in old version. goes to city_get.php and takes the state result from there. but in the new version (no head tags in php file) i saved the script as js file and try to call from template_top.php (which shows the all the java's way), explorer gives error in the below line. i have followed this error from explorer error messages.

Is there a way to add a convert and convertBack function for data link plugin outside of passing in the map object? What I'd like to accomplish is have a few custom predefined converts and then on document load add them based on classes found in the form.
In my web application we are able to store large data in the browser cookie keeping in mind the limit of 300 cookies per cookie file, 20 keys per cookie per domain and 4KB max size of each cookie. We are unable to retreive this large amount of data immediately after storing through document.cookie in IE browser (The same works fine in Netscape).
Is there any limit on the size of the data that can be retreived using document.cookie in IE browser? Could you please suggest a solution to this problem I am facing.
I want to create a recipe site with similar functionality to a feature on coolspotters. I've only dabbled in jQuery so I'm not sure how complicated it would be to do this. Basically what I want to do is allow a user to add recipes to dynamically created lists. For example if a user searches for Italian food they should be able to create a list called "Italian" and add italian recipes to the list. Or if they do a search for Japanese dishes they will be able to create a list called "Japanese" and add Japanese recipes to it, etc. I know their would be some back-end code involved but I was wondering if jQuery could handle the front-end. I've only dabbled in jQuery so this sounds like a complex thing to do.
As you can see in the "action" attribute, I'm calling this function:
function SubmitEditedInvoice(invno) { $.post('output.php?mode=6&invno=' + invno, $('#formEditInvoice' + invno).serialize(), function(output){[code]....
The problem I'm having is that no data is passed to the PHP back end. I have verified that the variable invno is correctly passed to the javascript function, and have tested my .serialize() by using a hard-coded form ID, but I still get no data passed through.
I've got a form that dynamically generates sets of input elements. First there is a set of up to 99 parent elements, and then the parents can have up to 99 child elements each. My question is not about the generation, but about capturing the data once the form has been filled out.
I made a script that handles getting the values and putting the values, along with their input id in an object that is used later. I don't want to have to use css classes or other attributes to identify the input elements, and wondering if that being the case, if I could get a critique of my script:
Edit this Fiddle - jsFiddle - Online Editor for the Web (JavaScript, MooTools, jQuery, Prototype, YUI, Glow and Dojo, HTML, CSS)
The output (the object) logs to your console when you click anywhere in the Result area.
So here is my problem...I've been banging my head against the wall for days with this one.How do you send data through the URL to be handled by a script in page.html, where page.html processes the data and dynamically displays the data in a modal. I can get the script to execute without trying to display in a modal, but as soon as I attempt to display in a modal, all I get is the static HTML without the jquery dynamic html.I know some code should be given, but if anyone could just walk me through the logic of why static html might be shown but not the dynamic, I think i can figure it out.
I have a program that allows the user to input a product number from 1 to 5, and the amount of each product number sold. After all values are added, the program is supposed to calculate each product's total retail value, as well as the total retail value of all five products combined. The program runs fine, up until the end. I got all my alert boxes working, and the program is doing the multiplication as it is supposed to. However, when I get to the end, I receive "Last weeks total retail sales are: $NaN".
My code: var productNum; var quantity; var prodPrice1 = 2.98; var prodPrice2 = 4.50; var prodPrice3 = 9.98; var prodPrice4 = 4.49; var prodPrice5 = 6.87; var total1; var total2; var total3; var total4; var total5; productNum = window.prompt( "Enter a Product Number (1,2,3,4,5):", "1" ); quantity1 = window.prompt( "Enter the quantity sold" ); productNum = window.prompt( "Enter a Product Number (1,2,3,4,5):", "1" ); quantity2 = window.prompt( "Enter the quantity sold" ); productNum = window.prompt( "Enter a Product Number (1,2,3,4,5):", "1" ); quantity3 = window.prompt( "Enter the quantity sold" ); productNum = window.prompt( "Enter a Product Number (1,2,3,4,5):", "1" ); quantity4 = window.prompt( "Enter the quantity sold" ); productNum = window.prompt( "Enter a Product Number (1,2,3,4,5):", "1" ); quantity5 = window.prompt( "Enter the quantity sold" );
total1 = document.writeln("Total for product 1 is $" + (prodPrice1 * quantity1) + "<br />"); total2 = document.writeln("Total for product 2 is $" + (prodPrice2 * quantity2) + "<br />"); total3 = document.writeln("Total for product 3 is $" + (prodPrice3 * quantity3) + "<br />"); total4 = document.writeln("Total for product 4 is $" + (prodPrice4 * quantity4) + "<br />"); total5 = document.writeln("Total for product 5 is $" + (prodPrice5 * quantity5) + "<br />"); document.writeln( "<h1>Last weeks total retail sales are: $" + ( total1 + total2 + total3 + total4 + total5) + "</h1>" );
I was wondering if anyone was aware of a script that would reccomend products from a list on another individual products page?
I would like something that will list three products that a customer might be interested in when they are viewing an item on my site.
I have an ecommerce site where I was told that I needed to use javascript to avoid paying alot of money for something very complex and more than what I need.
Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, do you have a script to get me started?
Ultimately I'd like a set up resembling http://shop.lululemon.com/Swift_Tank...30/p/1230.html
Where you're able to click a swatch color and get a thumbnail of it on the model and a thumbnail of a fabric detail that you could then enlarge. I'm not sure how to go about this. I'm able to do it with one thumbnail, where when you rollover the various swatch colors, the thumbnail of the model gets replaced. However I'm unable to add in the 2 other thumbnails (on that site they're using 3 but I would only need 2) that would change at the same time, where you could switch back and forth from at detail of the model and the fabric.
I don't necessarily need the zoom function, but if it is possible to do all of those that would be good too.Otherwise I just need help coding how to at least get the swatches to change 3 images upon mouseover and that 2 of those images would be like the 3 thumbnails on the link above and would replace the larger thumbnail once clicked.
I am using Ajax and Javascript to show real-time data on the web page. On my web page, a 4-digit number is displayed in a text box and this number updates every 10 millisecond automatically to display real-time data (show 100 numbers per second).
What I would like to do is to save the lastest 10 second data in the local PC (client PC) when client clicks a button on the page. Is that possbile with Javascript and Ajax? Or is there any other ways to sort it out?
let's say I have a table "Names" with a field "name" --> bob, and tom (2 records)
I want the ajax/php page to pull out all the names. which would be bob and tom. And then if my database got updated at the backend (ex: a new name jack is added). my page showing bob and tom will automatically be updated with jack showing.
