I have a div inside a link. I want the link to work, but also for the div to work as a button, and when you click it, I want the link not to be followed. I have an onclick handler which executes and jquery ajax load function but I need to validate a form first before executing the load function. I don't know how to prevent the load from occurring until the validate is complete. I am validating using the jquery validate plugin.

The idea is that when I use for example:
The elements within .setDefault will return to its default font/color/height/width etc... so basically all posible values.

Adjust the CSS margins of the BODY element with the first slider. The yellow P (paragraph) element resizes to fit its smaller containing block, as I would expect.
Then, adjust the CSS border or padding of the BODY element with the second and third sliders. The P element does not resize, though its origin changes. Instead, it overflows its containing block.
Finally, adjust the margins again. The P element snaps back into its containing block.
As you can see from the source, this is jQuery 1.6.4 and jQueryUI 1.8 pulled from googleapis.com.

All is working well until the page ids hit double digits. Subsequently a menu with the link "p=10" and above will highlight when "p=1" in the location bar. How should Iamend the code to prevent this partial match? The menu item links always end after "p="; there are no furtherkeys in the querystring toact as a delimiter.

I have content that loads into a div and in every browser except IE it renders fine. In the wonderful IE it comes in jagged...sometimes it "snaps" after and looks normal but for the most part its all jagged. The page is a white bg with text rendering into of it. The users types something in a textbox and after 3 characters, the getJSON method is beeing called. This processes the data by calling another site and after received the data, it displays the result in a div tag.If a user types something, it automatically searchs - my problem is the delay. Because if a user continuous, he will already receive (delayed) results - so far it works as designed. My question is, how can I stop the other callbacks of being processed and only receive and display the details of the last callback?

I have a form which is submitted via $.post(). This posts data to the server script and then a response is sent back to the client script. I would like to prevent the execution of this post for 10 seconds after the first execution. This function is for a quick reply method, so naturally i dont want people to post replies every second, therefore i would like an interval between quick replies to discourage multiple spamming.

This works perfectly. Now the mail combo have a option value="0" with title "Please select one" so if not change happen then the second combo never is activated. How when the user select the first option "Please select one" in the main combo (#manufacturer_id) I can disable the second combo?
