I followed a tutorial on it but my XML file isn't loading.[code]Now my thinking is that when the document loads, it alerts me that the jQuery is running, and it does this. I had hoped that after closing that alert, another one would show saying that the XML file has loaded - This would ensure that the function 'parseXML' has been called, but it does not return an alert or populate my#xml_addressbook div.My index page is at the root, and both my XML file and the javascript file are in a folder, as shown below.[code]

Jan 7, 2010I'm building an application with a c#.net server and a good bit of jquery on the front end. I'm having trouble getting/parsing data from c#. In the C#, I am doing a db call to pull the information for all users, and putting it into xml format:

When I run the application, I'm getting the 'in AjaxSucceeded [object XMLDocument]' alert, but I cannot get inside of the 'each' loop.
JQuery :: Dojo Parsing Fails After Ajax?
Jul 19, 2011Maybe it isn't really best practice (as it turns out) to use both jQuery and Dojo in the same application, but there are things I like about both libraries (for example jQuery is faster with animations, while Dojo has interface objects I like better). Nonetheless, best practice or not, I use both and that seem to create some complications.
The first time I load content via AJAX with jQuery DOJO seems to properly parse the checkboxes, datetime pickers, etc. which are sent with the new HTML. However, it seems the second time the parser won't react. I'm calling dojo.parser.parse() every time I load content with jQuery's $.ajax call. So basically my code looks like this:

It's like when an ID has been treated once by Dojo it doesn't want to do it again. there's a way to let Dojo know it has to parse the same IDs again?
JQuery :: IE (any Version) Is Not Parsing Returned JSON Via GetJSON Or $.ajax Calls?
Jul 6, 2009I am trying out $.ajax instead of getJSON for debugging purposes. Because getJSON did not report an error in IE (6,7 or 8) and I am
trying to figure out why a jQuery plug-in is not painting my returned images to the screen in IE but is in other browsers. So I tried this. Interestingly enough, it hits the error event in IE but not firefox, safari and the rest and I don't know why (this code works great and renders my data just fine in FireFox and the rest). I know my returned json is valid:

I don't know what else to do to troubleshoot why IE is having so much trouble with the returned JSON or just executing the function(data)

Same result. Firefox and the rest had no issue. IE still exited the $.ajax and my error method kicked in. No rhyme or reason whatsoever and I tried the IE Dev tools... nothing. About the only thing I get is this: Line: 163 Error: System error: -1072896658.Line 163 which is simply the line: function() { alert("An error has occurred. try again."); This has got to be the most f*d up situation I've been in and I need to get this working! I just cannot understand why IE can't parse a getJSON or $.ajax response, that is impossible or else there would be a huge meltdown with jQuery.
AJAX XML Parsing Problem

Dec 15, 2010I'm currently working on a pretty straight-forward AJAX application. In this application, I get some XML, and then parse it. An example of what I'm working with is as such:

Now, I've been able to read the XML with XMLHttpRequest , my trouble is with parsing the results. I've tried tons of things, but I just can't seem to get the different child nodes. Now, let's say we have something like this:

Could I use childNode to access user & content? And if so, how? I've tried many things, but nothing is working :/ Is there a better way to parse the results I get back from the server?
Parsing Text Not Working In 3D Projection Script?
Jul 31, 2011The problem is I have a script that draws 3d models that are in the OBJ Wavefront format onto the canvas. I have narrowed the problem I have down to a small section of the code, the code creates an array within an array to store the X,Y and Z co-ordinates, there is also some code that stores the linking of the vertices. The arrays are as arranged as follows:
coordinate
0
X
Y
Z
1
2
3 etc.
the vertices linking array is as above but with point 1 and point 2 as opposed to X,Y and Z. Within the array X,Y and Z (and also points 1 and 2 in their array) are numbered 0,1 and 2.

Apr 9, 2010I am new to jQuery and I am trying to do an AJAX call. The only call I could get to work was getJSON (which is fine because my responses are always JSON). Firebug lets me know that the request goes out and the response that is returned is what expected, but the success function is never called. Based on the code below, I should get an alert with the response, but I don't. If the problem is a JSON parsing error, how do I find that out? If something else is the problem, what could it be?

JQuery :: Ajax Post Only Working Once?
Aug 5, 2011I am building a web app that uses alot a jquery including a function that reaches out to a webservice using $.ajax to grab data and return to tdata to the web app. The function that makes the call is outside the ready block but is called in the ready block to make it run on the load. After the load I use a timer to keep calling the function to keep things up to date. But after the first run the function does not seam to work. This might sound wierd, but the ajax function appears to run after the initial go, but it always returns the original request, it does not make new request to the server. I use fiddler and watch what going on and after the initial run method it doesnt make any other calls even though I see the ajax method being stepped through using debugging software and see the AJAX call being attempted and returned successfully.

JQuery :: AJAX Timeout Not Working
Jan 26, 2010First off, great job guys. I love this library.
Now, I am having one problem with the .ajax() function. My problem is, the timeout value seems to be completely ignored. [code]...
The idea is that when the underlying hardware is restarted (this is a control page for a device), we should time out very quickly, rather than locking the browser. I have stepped though with a debugger, and the 250ms value is definitely being inserted when the reboot command is issued. Any idea why this is not working?
