JQuery :: Making SlideToggle Work On A Wordpress Page?

I'm trying to add a slideToggle to a paragraph in a Wordpress blog page. The following code works for triggering an alert, but when I replace the alert with the slideToggle, nothing happens.Here's the alert:
Taken right off a jQuery API page, inserting my own id names .The "#principles" is the id of a span of text just above a paragraph with an id of "p=principles".
I have a slideToggle div, when clicked slides down like a normal slideToggle. However, I have multiple slideToggle divs on top of each other, similar to an Accordion. Is there a way to use the collapsible characteristic for slideToggles like used in an accordion? Meaning when one slideToggle div is open, and then another is clicked, the previously opened one automatically closes. I am trying not to use an accordion due to other factors with my site.
For my work i need to make a form. At some points you have to choose an option from a dropdown select box. After you have chosen one of those some other field appear under the dropdown thing. I use the slideToggle event for this effect. In firefox its all working fine, but in ie 6.0 and 7.0 it doesnt work. What do need:A dropdown menu with a few options in it. You can choose one of those and after you select it a few other options apear under the dropdown menu.
I had help with the following script. But, it only works with specific ID, which I have to specify in the javascript code. If I wanted to have multiple sets of selection lists, I would have to duplicate the entire javascript block, which I do not want to do.
My question is, how can I make this script not have hardcoded IDs, and let those be declared where my onchange is? Is this possible? Code:
Recently I've been using a .slideToggle script to show big images when thumbnails are clicked.
However, the <div> that is revealed does not Toggle Up when multiple thumbs are clicked, so I'm left with a bunch of open <div>s on the page.
I'm not sure what to do -- I think it has something to do with the siblings of the class "largeexamples" but I'm not sure. I've also been reading about eq, but I'm not there yet.
I am trying to implement my script into Wordpress but for some reasons it just doesn't simply work. And whenever I try to test it online, it doesn't work either.Only when I'm offline does it work.[code]
Im using a plugin already called pbd-ajax-load-posts which is found here: [URL] (it's free and only has 3 files, a php, a css and the js which is where everything is at) The plugin works, but not on my template which is: [URL] It's a simple plugin and I tried playing around with it, and got really close to what I'm trying toachieve which is load the posts to an element,it's just not loading to where it needs to be. I'm new to this jquery/javascript and been trying to study it more
I have a table that is a production schedule of orders. Each order has 1 row with the main information and then 2 or 3 other rows with additional information. There could be 350+ rows. The pages loads fine by itself. I also have a function to expand/collapse individual rows when you click on them which works good. However, I wanted all the rows to be collapsed by default when the page loads. I added this code...
It works, but it is very slow. It could take 30+ seconds to run. Is there a faster way to use slideToggle on hundreds of rows at once? Or is there a better way to have them "closed" by default? ~bruno71
I currently have a couple old plugins (autocomplete 1.1 by Joern Zaefferer - json version, and datepick by Keith Wood) that do not work with 1.4.2, but do with 1.3.2. I'm wondering if it's possible to somehow force or modify them to work with the new version of jQuery.I know they both have new versions, and are now a part of jQuery UI, but I can't seem to get the UI versions to work. UI also seems more bloated than I need, for just a few functions.
I am trying to build my first interface using jQuery. I will have some icons on the page. When user hovers the mouse on an image, it should display a list of menu options (some more icons). Like:
I am calling a page which uses a jquery plugin(lightbox) which functions perfectly by itself, but whenever an ajax call is made and this page is retrieved the plugin stops functioning.
This is the line for using the plugin which i have stored in a .js file which is imported in all html files, but still it does not work.
We use a variety of plugins on a wordpress site we're developping. But two of them seem to be conflicting, causing one not to load/work properly. One uses jQuery and the other one uses scriptaculous/prototype. It seems those two have some issues running together.
As jQuery is the default library loaded, is there a way (without modifying the $-function) to exclude jQuery from loading from this one page where Scriptaculous is needed?
I had a quick question about the function onmouseover you can apply to html. I have a slideshow at [URL] that I want to start when the mouse is moved over the images and to automatically flip through the images after this initial movement. The images are put on a delay in my separate javascript file. However, whenever I move the mouse over the image again, the slideshow jumps ahead. Is there a way to make onmouseover work the first time and then to not work every other time?

I encoded the action = of my form using GET and I can't seem to get the property/value stuff from it using a JavaScript script I got from the web.
I want to create a trivia game where the user gets 1 question at a time and it keeps scoring until the end and gives a summary and I want to do it only in JavaScript (no ASP, PHP, JSP, etc).
I tried submitting the quiz page to itself using a query string to keep track of question # but no joy.
I can post code if necessary or is there a trivia game engine made for 1 question at a time instead of all on 1 page?
Anyway, I looked on Google at the query string issue til I'm sick of it. I found a Beatles trivia game but it was using frames and hidden JavaScript source files and that's too much work to try and figure out all of that. Code:
i have designed a page that uses a jquery script in a div in the middle of the page (below the logo and upper nav) Every time I click on a button that is part of the script, the page jumps down to the top of that jquery div. I want the page to stay rooted to the top. I can't tell whether this is a problem with the css or the js script.[URL]
I'm trying to take the hex value chosen from a jQuery colorpicker plugin, and store it as a cookie using the jQuery cookie plugin. I just don't know the appropriate way to tie the two together.
I am trying to get a dialog box to open another dialog box. Clicking on "more search options" the first time results in opening a dialog box. Clicking "search" within the dialog box results in opening up a second dialog box. But this only works the first time I click on "more search options". In other words, the second dialog box only opens up only once. To get the second dialog to open again, I have to reload the page in the browser.

I found a way to do this in IE but is this possible to do in Firefox aswell? I mean when a user chooses to make it his default page by clicking on a link.
Is there a way to tell the state of slideToggle? My problem is I have two buttons that change a div and also toggle it open/close. But if you click one button then click the other, the changes take effect and then it will close. So is there something like if(slideToggle() == open) or something along those lines?
