JQuery :: Invoking A Function On Daily Basis Automatically In An Aspx Page?
Mar 10, 2011
Actually it has been just 3 months i started using JQuery and its whole lot exciting with the things we can do using jquery. Is it possible to call a javascript function inside aaspx page created in sharepoint designer on a daily basis automatically .
would anyone be able to assist with a code for updating information on a daily basis? For example, I wish to update a section of our site every day that has the following timing information:
Everything is tabulated in excel and/or csv, and it also has on line pages in monthly format, but on the main index page, I just need to have a small area that provides it on a daily basis without having to go to an individual monthly page.
i have a function test() in a external js file i want to call it in my .aspx page how do i call it i tries using dim dv= externalfile.getfilters() ealier my function was in the same page and hence wrking fine dv= getfilters()
[code]....We have a set list of shows that air each day, and on the site we have a marquee tag on the homepage that scrolls through showing each show and its broadcast time. Right now we're stuck changing this schedule each day by hand, but it's tough considering we're all college students ourselves and sometimes our own schedules simply don't allow the time.Is there a code that would allow this kind of a daily update to happen automatically?
I have a html document with some jquery which is working fine...i pasted the same code in aspx page but its not working properly...i am not able to make out where the problem lies...
I'm new to using JQuery and I've been searching everywhere to be able to post XML to a WebMethod on an aspx page in a site. I'm sure it can be done but I just have no idea how.
I have jQuery loading content from an aspx page - however, once this is loaded, jQuery doesn't appear to "see" the content. For example, in the code below, I am retrieving a table, with the class "stripeme" from the aspx page - I then try to add the mouseover/alternate row scripts, but my table does not change.
My main page is: (page head info removed for length) <script type="text/javascript"> function showDetails() { var div = $("#divResult"); div.slideUp(function () { div.load("getContent.aspx", ..... Should I add dynamic content, that I then want to manipulate using jQuery, in some other way?
I can obviously load an aspx page into a div container thru .load jquery function. But, if the aspx page is already enginereed to work with aspnet ajax (scriptmanager, etc) , this is lost and the first postback cause all the page to reload. My question is, how can I import an aspx page into a div, maintaining its own ajax functions ? In case it's not possible, what's the best way to get same result?
I have a html document when i run in Internet explorer i am getting the desired output(j query working fine). But i copy pasted the same code in aspx page...the same code is not working properly...
1) how can i give absolute url to call GetDate method of default.aspx page?the problem is that, if my page is in a folder and accessing the Default.aspx page method.then it give error object not found, because my Default.aspx page is out side of the folder in which folder page it accessing the Default page method.
2) Is it possible to call a method which is in a class(not a .aspx page)or in a master page of .NET(method declared as Web Method)?
:)Per JMRKER's suggestion I researched Query Strings and partially solved my original request on how to pass a parameter. Now I need to learn how after passing that parameter, how to invoke some code.In an html file I call the program listed below entitled "ShirleyLee.html". The call is initiated by the following statement: onclick="window.open('ShirleyLee.html?Player=WindowsMediaPlayer'"In the body of ShirleyLee.html I call a function in the <head> entitled "DeterminePlayer". This function will parce the url used to open ShirleyLee.html.I tested this code and it works. In the Javascript code located in the <body>, the If clause: "if (SplitQueryStringStoreInArray[1] == "WindowsMediaPlayer")" will trigger the Alert box which will then display "WindowsMediaPlayer" which was parced from the url in the DeterminePlayer function located in the <head>If you look further down, just below the function call in the <body> you will see 11 lines of code which is a table that is comprised of the code neccessary to utilize the Windows Media Player plus parameters.
My question is, how do I invoke this code in the true area of the conditional clause located in the <body> that now temporarily contains: "alert("Player = " + SplitQueryStringStoreInArray[1]);"The following is the file: "ShirleyLee.html"
I have five div tags(jquery tabs) in my aspx page...Inside the seconddiv(tab) i have a button. onclick of that buttton the second div(tab)should be switched..instead of that the first tab is coming.. How cani switch the tab in code behind(Inside button onclick event)...
currently we are having a scenario wherein in a JSP page we invoke the Microsoft Outlook client (open the Outlook client) using ActiveX api.. This we are doing using a java Script function which is called when the JSP page gets loaded. The body of the email is pre populated in a HTML format when the Outlook client opens up.Now we have a requirement wherein we need to open up the Lotus Notes client in a similar way ..Could someone please advise/help how this could be achieved ..whether there are some standard api's which could be used here.
2. Also in case there are 10 users who are using microsoft outlook as their email client while the other 10 users are using lotus notes for emailing..then in this case how could this be handled..
I am trying to use xmlhttprequest to make my aspx page more interactive.
its a page with a slideshow where the user can rate the pic, send a comment of this pics and other stuff... when the user rate or comment a pic, the server side script works properly, but when im going to work with the response (xmlhttprequestObject.responseXML), it all screw up...

Has anybody found a way, using the jquery,validate.js plugin, to change the error place of one field?
I can change the error placement for everything, or consistently for all the fields, but I have 2 fields that I want to place the errors someplace else. Is there a way to do that?
My very simple function clickEvent1() (defined in the page head) that expands/shrinks a hidden tag <h6> with text, id="lignep" in the body
Here is a code which throws error for line 104 in the page body with message "Object expected", but I can't figure out what is wrong in this line that calls for function clickEvent1():
what I'm trying to do is to automatically launch a function before going in the $.ajax ({success}); method. I've this:[code]My problem is that I first see "success" and then "ajaxSuccess" or would have the opposite.dataFilter function doesn't help me because I can't detect if query is successfull or not and not have the XMLHttpRequest.
needs an action, like a click or a mouseover or something. For each file that arrives, and therefore adds another instance of ui-icon-check, I'd like to fire an event. A weekend of googling has really only turned up Live Query from 2007, which works perfectly with
So am I totally mis-understanding the point of live, or just mis-using it?
I'm doing it this way rather than mess with the uploader code as he's updating the code all the time, and the more I can stay away from code code the better I think.
I recently wrote this slider function which automatically detects margin-top CSS values, then offsets the desired div, then simultaneously slides and fades the div in using jQuery's animate() function. It seems to work well with only one div. However if I set it up to slide multiple divs, I am having an issue I cannot figure out.
First, here's the example...[url]
You will have to few the example in Safari or Firefox as I have disabled the javascript in IE using conditional comments. You can view source to see my HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
My issue is this. The #header div slides in great. After a set delay, the #about div slides in. I want each div to slide in separately, one after another. However, when the #about div slides in, it seems to affect the #header element. When the #about div is in motion, I do not want the #header element to move.
