JQuery :: How To List All (But Highlight Current) Title In Slideshow Array
Jun 9, 2011
I have an image scroller with several elements connected to it in an array. When the image goes to the next slide, the elements (title, category, desc., etc.) adjust to coincide with the new image. My issue is that I am unable to create an element (category) that pulls each "category:'current slide category'," entered in the array as a list and highlights the current slide's corresponding category.
E.g.,
var slides = Array(
{ <!--slide 1 -->
url: 'images/image1.jpg',
category:'category 1',
title: 'This is the title of the image/article',
imgLink: '#',
caption: 'This briefly explains the image/article', },
{ <!--slide 2 -->
url: 'images/image2.jpg',
category:'category 2',
Title: 'this is the title of the image/article',
imgLink: '#',
caption: 'this briefly explains the image/article',
},)
I want it to display:
>> category 1 / category 2 / category 3
The corresponding slide 2 elements are active/visible in the slideshow, so whatever is entered as the category for each slide should be listed visibly (instead of the non-current items fading) and then highlighting the current one.
Slideshow JS (category element on lines 309-313): [URL]
Currently using jQuery's function loadContent(elementSelector, sourceURL) { $(""+elementSelector+"").load(""+sourceURL+""); } and href="javascript:loadContent('#content', 'page/home.html');"
to load some remote content into the main container. The problems is: i'm unable to find any working solution to highlight the current, active menu item (build as an <ul> and styled with external css), considering the main page isn't reloading - especially when i'm in no way able to understand JS at all.Would any of you have any idea how to mark the current menu item marked as active untill another one is chosen - and then repeat the function?
I have created a simple slideshow/ gallery.There are five small pictures with titles below the slideshow.How can I get the title box above the slide show to change according to the selected picture.Been playing with it but nothing seems to work.[code]
I write simple slideshow on jQuery but I can't understand how to change current image count. Here is my current code:
HTML Code: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $('#slideshow img').hide(); $('#slideshow img:first').show(); function slide(){ var $top = $('#slideshow img:visible'); var $next;
var $imgCount = $('#slideshow img'); var $iCount = $imgCount.length; $('#slideshow img').click(slide); $('#totalImages').text($iCount); }); </script> I'm trying make like this 2/45, where 2 - is current image number.
as with document.title we can get the current page title,
<body onLoad="MM_goToURL('parent','script.php?title=document.title');return document.MM_returnValue"> this is the function I've used for that above trick
function MM_goToURL() { //v3.0 var i, args=MM_goToURL.arguments; document.MM_returnValue = false; for (i=0; i<(args.length-1); i+=2) eval(args[i]+".location='"+args[i+1]+"'"); }
I'm designing a website and I would like to add a certain class to a navigation element based on the document title. I currently have the following javascript. The nav elements have separate ids (the About Us nav element has the id="about" and so on)
<code> window.onload=function(){ var docTitle = document.title; var about = document.getElementById("about"); var advising = document.getElementById("advising")
[Code]...
The problem seems to be that the if statement is true whether or not the document.title ="about" or anything else, (if I remove the return, both about us and advising elements have their class changed.
I have some jquery code that will highlight in grey a row in a list when it's hovered over - ie:
[Code]...
but of course that will highlight every -even and -odd row, but I want to exclude the list classed .views-important-dates. I can get bloated with it and duplicate the whole code, or I could write a function (which is a definite possibility) but I was wondering if there was a conditional way I could do this - for eg:
I have a navigation that has a list of employee name. And I used up and down key to see the names and I click enter key to view the data of that employee. Now, I want to have a color the name when I press the up and down key and also I want to be highlight or the color will stay in the the name that I choose after I press the enter key..Is it possible?is it using CSS? or javascript?How?
Here is my code: Code: <script> window.onload = function() { // function() { var ul = document.getElementById('searchpayroll'); var links = ul.getElementsByTagName('a'); var i = 0; document.onkeyup = function(e){ //function(e){ e = window.event || e; .....
if i wanted to know on a certain event lets say onblur/or onfocus on which element of the array the focus was on how would i know that in jquery. I basically want to get the key of the price array on a certain event.
I've made a simple slideshow from images in an array. I've search for a way to add elements to each "slide", in addition to the image, but they only pertain to image attributes (title, alt, url, etc.). Is there a way to create classes (for elements other than images, like header text and a content paragraph) in my javascript that can be added to each slide's array (and stylized in css)?This is my current code:
var infoData =[ 'images/image1.jpg', 'images/image2.jpg',
I've seen several jquery slideshows, but I don't know how to adapt them to my needs. I'm working in Visual Studio 2010, Visual Basic. I have a database that contains the file names of the files I want in the slide show. I can easily create an array or an arraylist to contain the files to use. The slideshow examples I've seen have the photo files hard coded. How can I use the array I fill from the database instead? Are there particular slideshows you would recommend?
I'm trying to create a list that contains items which are filters for a search. The list shows 10 items (max) on the page load. if there are more than 10 it changes the class of the elements > 10 so they are hidden, and a 'show more' link is appended. Now if the user has 'unhidden' the previously hidden items and then chooses one, I want the class for all those previously hidden items to change until the user has deselected that item.
[Code]...
Is there a better, smaller way to write this? It works for what i need currently, but there are future features im planning that will not be practical checkingindividualindexes the way i've done it.
I have this C# code that is connecting to database and creating a array(list)
Code:
I'm trying to pass it to a javascript function so I can then pass it to a silverlight page so I was able to create this easy javascript that show a aleart box on startup of the list(array)
Code:
But I want to do something like this and can't get it:
Okay, so I've been trying to pick up JavaScript and JQuery. And I have a few questions, would be very grateful for answers: -If I'm making a sliding image gallery with JQuery, how do I store my images in an array? I take it this is the best way? I've made a JQuery gallery by assigning each image an ID, and hiding the ones that aren't required. This looks like bad practice though.
I take it it should work with a standard JavaScript array, then reference the position of the image I've loaded? like [0][1][2] etc, but something must be amiss in my code. So basically, I've animated my image in, and there's a next button that I want to take me to the next image in the sequence.
what can be the reasons for the same code which works perfectly in notepad to not show its result in a jsp application done using eclipse??anything to do with settings?
I am not able to display the current date as default in dd/mm/yyyy format in drop down menu..only dd and yyyy apears but month isnt apearing as default..
can u suggest alternative logic and its code to implement the same??
I have two functions that i want to combine for a calander link that would use the current month value from an array to choose the corresponding html file and display it in a pop up window. each month calander is its own html file labelled by month. I cant seem to figure out how to combine the my_win() function with the getCal() function. any ideas? Code:
I'm using jQuery.LocalScroll to scroll a large page to the content depending on the link clicked. I have one css styled menu that stays in a consistent position while the rest of the page moves.It works well but as the page isn't 're-loading' for each section I can't think how I can indicate on the menu which section you are in.
