JQuery :: How To Access Specific Fields In A Form

Oct 27, 2010

On submit of a form I want to check some fields. I cannot get JQuery to do it.

[Code]...

The alert never fires. I prefer to refer to a specific element in a specific form, hence the line $("form[name="+theForm+"]:input[name="+checkFields[i]+"]"); What am I doing wrong and how can I do this???

JQuery :: Dynamically Generate Specific Numbers Of Form Input Fields?

Sep 22, 2010

I am not new to jQuery but I just want to ask the best way to approach this. Basically I have a textfield in which the user is going to type in a number (for example 20) and after this textfield lose focus jQuery will be triggered to create whatever number of textfields the user put before (in this case 20).

So, to illustrate: How many users do you have: [ 2 ](and after the field above lose focus, the below will be generated)

JQuery :: Unable To Access The Raw CSS Code That Has Been Loaded For The Specific Page?

Feb 24, 2011

I would like to be able to access the raw CSS code that has been loaded for the specific page. I'm not looking to change the code (I know how to use jQuery for CSS manipulation etc...) I just want to parse through it and extract some useful information.I considered just loading the stylesheet references in the page, then placing a request to the server for the .css file, but this feels messy even if the browser happens to have the page cached from having just requested it.Has anyone got a clue as to how one would go about this? As always, I think its best if it uses jQuery XD, however, I just really want to get this done

JQuery :: Form Validation - Two Input Fields In A Form - Only One Of Two Fields Is Required

Oct 10, 2009

There are two input fields in a form, but only one of them is required, they are not required at the same time. Either A or B is required. ( A is required OR B is required). In other words, a user can input data to field A, or he can input data to filed B, but he can not input data to Both A and B at the same time. How to implement this constraint in Jquery form validation?

var the_cookie="file_address~"+x+";path=gallerylogin.php";

...it still doesn't set it so "gallerylogin.php" can access it.

Have you come across to a similar script.

I would appreciate any contributions.

What I am trying to do is a page where the user will add their employees details so we can order business cards for them. So I have fileds such as, Name, Tel Num, Email, Cell etc.

JQuery :: Malsup's Form Plugin Uses .attr() For Disabled - IE7 Drops Form Fields W/ JQ Core 1.6.*?

Jul 11, 2011

We're using Malsup's form plugin v2.82 and jQuery core 1.6.2. We're having issues in IE7 where, on a form with file upload, form fields are being dropped before the form is submitted to the server. We tracked it down to the `fileUpload` function, specifically line 196 where each field in the form data has `.attr('disabled',false)` run against it. If we change this to`.prop('disabled',false)` it all works fine.I don't see a clearly marked place to submit bug reports for the form plugin, and wanted to verify that others see this as well,

JQuery :: Run PHP Script After 4 Form Fields Entered And Form Not Submitted?

Nov 12, 2010

I am re-developing my website and want to use some Ajax/jQuery in it (so I am learning as I go) and I am not sure if this is possible so that is my first question:I have a registration form and I would like to know if after the person registering has completed their first and surname and the 2 sections of their postcode if I can use jQuery to run a PHP script to see if they are already registered before waiting for the form to be submitted and running a script then.I am thinking onkeyup (or similar) after the last field is completed but I don't know how that would work needing to also use 3 other field values. If this is possible, can anyone give me any ideas of examples that do this or how I can go about passing all the variables and running the scripts at the correct time.

This.parentNode - Access The Elements Of The Form Without Referring To Them By ID As The Whole Form Is Intended To Be Cloned

Feb 16, 2011

I've put together what I think is an illustration of my problem at [URL] Quite simply, I need to be able to access the elements of the form without referring to them by ID as the whole form is intended to be cloned. I intended to do this using parentNode and childNodes[] together with the 'this' keyword. My understanding of 'this' in this context is that it should refer to the HTML element calling the function, i.e. one of the radio button inputs. However this gives the error "Error: this.parentNode is undefined"

Populate A Form's Field (via Hyperlink) Without Access To The Form's Code?

I work for a very large company that has zero communications between IT and the employees...so there is very little possibility of having any code changed.I need to use a web based system that submits orders for my department. The problem is i must order by "task number". I could have 20-30 task numbers so to complete the order I need to go to my company's page and fill out 15 form fields and submit for each task code. It is a terrible pain. 14 of the 15 fields are the same for each order... only the task code changes.

Access Is Denied On Form Submit When Too Many Data In Form

Jul 23, 2005

I'm getting an incredible behaviour of internet explorer.
I have a generated html page with one form and many input of checkbox
type.

Those checkbox are grouped in 4 lists and each list of checkbox
contain checkboxs with the same name so I can easily retrieve on my
server side (java) wich checkbox are checked with a
request.getParameterValues(). (Each checkbox has a value corresponding
to the id of the row)
Anyway that's not on the server that the problem is.

Here it comes. When more than 132 checkboxes are checked, my form
submit generate a javascript error. When 132 or less checkboxes are
checked it submit without problem.

I tested the page with firefox, the problem is not here with that
browser and it can submit liek for example 400 checkboxes.

Then I tried to make a workaround, on submiting I browse the elements
list of my document and I create a big string containing all the ids
checked and then I uncheck all checkboxes and submit. there again it
fail to work.

I'm really affraid I'm looking at a nasty bug of Internet explorer
here and I'm going to engineer a more deep workaround if noone can
point out a solution to me.

I should precise that I have no iframes on that page. I indeed saw
that some people got 'access is denied' on submit form but in my case
it works when not too much data is going to be submited !

JQuery :: Select A Specific Class Inside A Specific Div Based On The ID From A Button Elsewhere On The Page

Mar 10, 2010

<div class="box top"></div>
<div class="box main">
<div class="box header">
<div class="badge"><ul><li class="active"><span>60</span></li></ul></div>

[Code]....

What is happening is $(this) is no longer based on .expand being the (this) that is clicked.

like if i have a button SOMEWHERE randomly on the page with this

<div onclick="Minimize('_alerts');">Click Here</div> this will minimize alerts but because the (this) in minimize function doesn't actually point to the right button that I want to add a class to.

Is there a way to modify the minimize function so that it finds the <div id="mytoggle"><ul> <li class="expand boxminimize" rel="_alerts"> using the rel toggle, and then changes the class of the li from expand boxminimize to boxexpanded??

just like the .expand click function I posted on the top of the post that works?
