I'm using this jquery plugin I recently found, and I'm having some trouble with it. Actually I got it to work quite nicely, the thing is that (as you may notice in that same demo) it works using the Title attribute so when you hover for a couple of seconds over a menu button, that awful default tooltip appears. I did some research but I couldn't find any simple way to hide those.
I need different definitions of tooltip on one page: 1/ Replace the default tooltip of all title elements
$('*[title]').tooltip({ delay: 500 });
AND
2/ Replace only Title elements within class "fast" (e.g. <a class="fast" href="..." title="fast tooltip">Fast</a> )
$('*[title].fast').tooltip({ delay: 0 });
But first definition overrides the second one all the time. I moved "general" definition 1/ on the first position of js and the "class based" 2/ on the last one but no success.
I'm using jQuery Tooltip plugin (url) and need to access title attribute of element which plugin is applied to. As you know all title attributes are removed when tooltip function is applied, is there any way how to access them?
Is there a way of telling the validation plug-in to use it's defaulterror messages when the title on the control is set? The defaultvalidation error messages are good for most of my cases so I'd rathernot have to explicitly set the messages for each and every one ofthem.For example, if I attach a "required" validation rule to a textbox andset its title to something, I don't want that title to appear as theerror message when they leave the field blank and I'd rather not haveto explicitly set the validation message
I've been using prettySociable on my site (can be downloaded here. I use the uncompressed version). I want to be able to change the tooltip (that shows up when you drag an image) to default to an image on my server, rather than to the page title. I think I've tracked down the code on line 265 of the jquery.prettySociable.js file, but I'm unsure how to change it:
I use this snippet to remember the state of a toggle. But i want the default state to be hidden. How can i accomplish this? I added "display:none;" to .toggle_container but this isn't working.
Assuming that a checkbox is initially unchecked, the following code works because the additional text is hidden, and when the checkbox is checked, the function if performed to show() it. However, what needs to be done if the checkbox may or may not be checked initially?
Anyway, I am using some code that someone else wrote so I claim no credit here for the code.It works great and I've managed to persuade to work in Wordpress but I have one thing I would like to change.Basically the text I am trying to toggle is "shown" on page load - I would like it to be "hidden" until the user clicks on the link to make it appear.Here's the code:
how to rename/hide the title in the popup window. I found the below code from google. this code is working fine. Actualy I don't want to show the url to the user. Below code helps to hide the address bar. But still user can see the url in title bar. If I add the titlebar=no in the var feature then also it is showing the url in titlebar.
function loadMainWindow() { var win = window.self; win.opener = window.self;
I'm trying to make one div default open, and that is working ok, but when I hit the link for the the other div to open, the first div is not closing... It closes when I hit the link for the first div...
var currentShowingDiv = document.getElementById('idShowHide1'); function doHideShow3(divName){ var objDiv = document.getElementById(divName); [code]...
So just to clarify what I want is to have one div open as default (idShowHide1) and when the user hits the link for the second div (idShowHide2) the first div close and the other open... As it is now the first div does not close...
<script type="text/javascript"> function wp(){ var fn1=window.location.href var fn2=fn1.split("?") if (fn2.length>1){ var fn3=fn2[fn2.length-1] x=document.getElementById(fn3); x.className="show"; } } </script> </head> <body onload="wp()"> <div id="div1" class="dontshow">Div 1</div> <div id="div2" class="dontshow">Div 2</div> </body> </html> </code>
What I would like to do is have page2.html <div1> as the default and show up. Problem is, if I click the link to show <div2> from page1.html, both <div>'s show up. How can I hide <div1>?
I'm not allowed to post a link yet since I'm a newbie. But the page is here: tinyurl dot com /m8ajyp
This page (and others on the site) use javascript to show/hide some divs in order to have a tab-like interface.
Is there any way to link to this page with the "Past Events" div showing as the default? Right now you can see that "Coming Events" shows on page load. And that's the way we want it most of the time.
But there are places in the site where I'd like to link specifically to this page with the "Past Events" div showing on page load.code...
I have an odd problem I can't seem to find a solution for. I have two ValidationTextBox elements in a form, username and password. In the onBlur() function of username I call the validator function. Here I make an ajax call to the server to verify that the username is not already registered. If it is then focus is set back to the username field. That all works great. My problem is that when the user clicks on the password field (or tabs) the validator() function for that field is called and displays the tooltip for saying "password can not be empty" and the tooltip for username stating that the username is already taken is not shown.
how to show the username tooltip instead of the password tooltip? I have tried calling an empty displayMessage("") on the password field and this does not work. It is rather annoying because the user does not know why the username field is invalid. Visually it is obvious that the field is invalid but it doesn't state anywhere that the username is already used.
I am looking for a way to put all CSS values on my selected elements back to its default. I was wondering if anyone has maybe done this before and if not has any idea's to get me started.
The idea is that when I use for example:
The elements within .setDefault will return to its default font/color/height/width etc... so basically all posible values.
If I want to hide a title / heading if a field below is not filled in, what would be the js for that?
I have an "Attachments" h2 heading and three following fields for the client to add up to three attachments. But if none are filled in I want the h2 heading to not display.
This is what I have so far:
This should take care of the three fields, but how do I tie in the heading too?
This page: [URL] seems to indicate that it's possible, but it looks like it also pops up an alert window which would be annoying as hell. Is there a way to, say, once every minute change the title bar text?
You see I have a text file of rotating slogans that appear each time you reload a page on my site and someone suggested that having them change even when the page is already open might be fun. I thought I'd look into it and see if it's possible. The site is [URL]
I don't know enough about javascript to know if this is possible. I am fairly good at implementing and installing other people's code, though, and can usually make minor changes to tweak things.
I have implemented a site where I made a tooltip, show when mouseover an item. here is the site [url]
The problem is data got from a remote server using ajax. I perform jQuery .hover() on the content got through Ajax. not use .live(). So Now the situation is in IE tooltip shown but in FF and Safari tooltip is not shown.
Here is the js code and make the Ajax call..this is index.php
Code:
Here is the main PHP code where using CSS and JS hover implemented.
so the story is that i using and IFRAME in my web site , and i want the main title of the document (which appears in the browser title bar) to be the title from the iframe 'page' . my English is not so good so i 'll give an example .
I am looking to use a similar method as facebook chat does, where it alternates between the original title text and 'friendsName has sent you a message!...'
At my day job, we use a cms that generates really terrible <title></title> tags that are killing our SE rankings.
Instead of taking the title of the piece of content and putting it in the title tags, it uses the name of the page template.
I first attempted this with jquery, but i'm looking for something that will basically just take <title>template name</title> and replace it with something friendlier.
I am trying to add a tooltip to an element (based on vertigo-[URL]... Normally, works fine, except when I clone an element which has a tooltip in it and append it to another element, the title disappears after the first time it is hovered over. Code is below, and a live example is here.
I'm trying to use Zeroclipboard Code: [URL]to copy stuff to the clipboard and add a tooltip when the mouse hover on the flash. but it doesn't seem to be working.
I'm trying to get my tooltip to work, it doesn't.[URL]...n-tooltip/ is where I picked it up from.[URL]... is my current display. when I hover over "59 minutes ago" It's supposed to have a tool tip that says "July 28, 2011 23:40"and it's not.Am i missing an include or something?This is my first stab at jQuery. Like... very first stab. As in, 10 minutes ago, I haven't done much beyond
