I'm using this colorpicker, and it is wonderful. However, I want to use it inside a jQuery dialog box (on an input tag inside a form just like the example in the website), but the problem is that when the colorpicker appears it is partially behind the dialog (on the z-axis) and therefore unusable. FYI changing the zIndex property on the dialog does not work.
View 1 RepliesStill a bit of a jquery newbie here, I'm making a form and using the date picker plugin by eyecon. But when the calendar pops out, instead of seeing the month and dates, It just repeatedly prints 'NaN'. This is super freaky and I cant figure out why.

I've found myself looking to jQuery as a potential solution to an interesting problem that I'd like to solve: I have a basic CMS that clients can use to manage the rental of items (caravan pitches to backhoes). The site administrator gets to enter the details of their products, prices and so forth, and then visitors to their site can see the availability of their products on a dynamically generated calendar - and book them online.
Part of the CMS allows the creation of 'seasons' - periods of the year in which a product's rental price changes - for special offers, etc. Different seasons are shown on the calendar using different css markup that the admin can change in the 'create/edit season' form.
Clearly, I can't expect Joe Siteadmin to type correct CSS and, ideally, I'd like to avoid limiting him to a swatch of pre-generated choices. So, having been seduced by the sexiness of the jQuery UI calendar plugin, I was thinking that it ought to be fairly easy to provide a jQuery color picker of some sort on the 'create/edit season' form, maybe with some radio buttons to dynamically link the picker to change background, text and border color - and update the relevant css rules for the colors chosen, on the fly, in the relevant input field on the form.

There are so many plugins for modal dialogs that I don't know which one should I use and/or which one is the best... I mean, if there was only one plugin of this type including all the features from all the modal plugins, that would be cool. Which one do you think it's the best and why? Care to state the pros and cons of each plugin (or the ones you know/have already tested)?

But when I click on the "lnk.addnote" link, the dialog is shown and immediately closed. In fact i can see the "ADD FIRED" alert, then the "CREATING DIALOG" alert but nothing appear. And finally I got this message into the Firebug console "$ is not defined".
Code like the below creates almost always more than one and sometimes as many as ELEVEN dialog boxes. This frustrating behavior doesn't seem to be affected at all by whether you choose "OK" or "Cancel".Is this a known issue and if so, is there a workaround?

I'm trying to take the hex value chosen from a jQuery colorpicker plugin, and store it as a cookie using the jQuery cookie plugin. I just don't know the appropriate way to tie the two together.

I'm pretty sure after reading this board and many like it that it is
impossible to change the ok, ok/cancel buttons that appear by default
in the alert and confirm javascript dialogs. Now for question one why
not? And question two why do they still say ok and ok/cancel when
viewed in a non-english browser install?
I have installed Chinese IE 6.0 and these buttons still say Ok/Cancel.
the rest of the browser (buttons, menus, etc...) is in Chinese except

I have an input text field with an add/submit button - it's purpose is to add tags to an article created in a CMS. Whenever a tag is entered
1) I am using a click listener on the submit button
2) and am calling Jquery.load() to perform some checks/validation and
4) add the tag to the database
5) then retrieve the new set of tags for that article and inject them into the DOM.
Therefore there are two click listerners in my header:
1 for the submit button:

This code works to insert a MySQL record to a Database using AJAX. It works fine on IE, but it's not working on FF or Chrome. When I test it on FF/Chrome, i just get the text "Just a second..." and it doesn't advance from there.

I am working on a Javascript application and i am facing a strange behavior of the application in IE. I am creating a table at runtime using DHTML and registering event for the table row click. When i deploy this application on web server and browse the application, the events fires in firefox and chrome but in IE the events are not fired. If i browse the application from the server with localhost, the application triggers the events and fails when i use machine name.

I have a website that lists the movies I have on my computer and then when you click on a link for that movie, it retrieves information from IMDB. The code is in testing but for the most part it works.I was wondering if anyone knew why the following JavaScript would work on Firefox but not in IE. I develop on Linux, and I know there are IEs available for Linux, and I have used them before. I will be sure to track down the issue later, but from the resources I've been using, this should work in both major browser types (standards compliant and microsoft).The code is very dirty, and I have started an object oriented rewrite, but if I don't have the proper DOM skills for IE in this spaghetti code then I doubt anything is going to change putting it all into Objects.

Let me say ahead of time I haven't the slightest clue how to write JavaScript, I've been copying and pasting for 12 years the same code and it's always worked.Right now, I'm having an issue with 2 of the 4 button graphics not doing the hovering effect they're supposed to. I DID do a search for this and couldn't find it so please forgive me if it is indeed here somewhere.Again, to be clear, 2 of the 4 images ARE going to the 2nd image when hovered over. 2 aren't and I can't figure out why.
