I'm trying to make the width of a box change dynamically as you slide the jquery range slider

I am developing a vertical jquery slider. I am able to fetch the value of slider in a text box.
I want to move the slider by typing in the values into the text box. Below is my [code]...
I want to accomplish what the image shows.
Moving slider between columns.
I need to know which tds slider cover.
Blue Lines are the <td> borders.
is it possible?
I want to do like that, I have a center point, when I hover mouse to left of that point, slider will move left and same with right
var margin = $("#viewer").offset().left;
padding = $("#viewer").width()/2,
m = margin+padding;
$("#viewer").mouseenter(function(e) {
var te = m-e.pageX;
$('#slide').animate({left:"-="+te+"px"}) ;
});
And
<div id="viewer">
<div id="slide">
<img id="image1" class="current" src="21.jpg" alt="Amstrad CPC 472">
<img id="image2" src="45ew645f4sa.jpg" alt="Atari TT030">
<img id="image3" src="4h54df54hg5a.jpg" alt="Commodore 64">
<img id="image4" src="46eg.jpg" alt="Commodore 128">
<img id="image5" src="4w54erwe.jpg" alt="Sinclair ZX Spectrum +2">
</div></div>
But, it only move left / right one time. So, how can div slider automatic move left (while mouse still hover viewer) forever until my mouse out of viewer.
I have to change the slider color depending on its value, but I didn't manage to do it, I changed the attribute "background" of the class "ui-slider-range" this way : $("#slider.ui-slider-range").css("background","red"); Since I have three states (red, orange and green) I have to use three sliders, each one has one color, all hidden at the beginning then I show the appropriate slider when the value changes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm a new Javascript coder; it's still pretty easy for me to get snagged on stuff. Anyways, I had a question for a specific project I've been trying to figure out.
I have an element set with CSS to a width of 160px. What I want is a way for users to the site to drag a slider back and forth to set the width of the button. Some sort of smooth animation while this is happening would also be nice. I'd also like a way to set a max width on the element.
So, can this be done? I'm guessing it would use jQuery, but I don't really know.
I need a code that when a button or image is clicked then a div's width and height are changed.
Ive managed to get a few codes that does this, but the real problem is that, the contents of the div is an embedded flash file and i thought that by setting the flash width and height to 100% then the flash would fit to the new size of the div, but it just didnt work.
I need a code that when a button is clicked then the div's and the flash's width and height are changed.
please have a look at the temp website latinunit net / temp / , you will understand where im coming from.
on the right hand side i have a flash chat in a div , div is controled by a script that allows it to follow the scrollers up and down.
My goal is to add a little button in the same div that says expand or maximise so when clicked the the div expands aswell as the flash file.

i'm using the 1.7.2/Slider and i'm quite pleased with it. The only thing that bothers me is how to change the direction of the slider when in vertical orientation. The default values are: min at bottom, max at top, but I want to reverse that, so the slider always starts
from top to bottom. I tryed different things like modifying the code in ui.slider.js, but it didn't seem to work.
I am making a website with a nice picture slide.The slide has arrows on the left and right and I want them toadjustto the size of the active image.Here is the link to the site:http://dergebauer.test6002.info/projekt.htm?id=029&from=matr&category=sonderloesungenIt works everywhere except in IE.I also tried to rebuild the error on a dummy site...but everything worked.

1.I found a Slider Toggle thats demonstrated here [URL] and it seems to work fine but only if the link is placed above the div that slides down.. im trying to make the div slide down from above my menu and i want 1 of the links on my menu to toggle the slider. how do i get it work to where I can place the link below the sliding div? 2. the script originally used .fader{opacity:0;display:none;} but I wanted the slider div to be visible if javascript was disabled so I added
jQuery(".fader").hide(); so its now
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
jQuery(".fader").hide();
$(".fadeNext").click(function(){
$(this).next().fadeSliderToggle()

I have a list of thumbnails generated by Wordpress. I've been trying to piece together a script that would change the ID of the parent element based on the image inside of it I can't seem to get anywhere, does anyone have a simple solution?
I need the id of the li to be "sm" or "smp" depending on the width of the image inside of it (landscape or portrait)
<li class="frame" id="sm">
<div class="frm" id="frame1">

How can I change the height and width of an element with Javascript? I have tried and so far I can only change either the width or height but not both, doing something like this…
Code:
<HTML>
<HEAD>
<script type = "text/javascript">
function changeSize(){document.getElementById('test').style.height = '200'}
[code]....
And this works fine but if I try to change both height and width it doesn’t work. Doing something like this doesn’t work
Code:
function changeSize(){document.getElementById('test').style.height = '200' width=’200’}
I know 800x600 screens occupy a shrinking part of Web surfers, but I want to accommodate them by offering an alternate style sheet where my site pages don't break when someone from this smaller group visits. Yes, there are examples of how to do this on the Web, but I have one more requirement and don't know how to code it. Not only do my pages break on 800x600, they also break if the browser widow is sized smaller on a 1024x768 screen. (I'm studying css that will dynamically respond to this but I'm not there yet.) Do I just need an appropriate if/or statement to deliver different style sheets? Is there even a JS that detects browser window changes?
