I am facing a problem in passing replace() function as an argument in user defined java function.
intention is to pass a file path to my user defined function, but before passing the path i want to replace the character '' to '\'
I am posting my javascript function here:
<a href="#" onclick="OpenDocPreview('<%# Eval("PATH")%>'.replace(/\/g,"\\"), '<%# Eval("Filename")%>')"><%# Eval("DocTitle") %></a>
function OpenDocPreview(url, docname) {
alert('message from search base : ' + url + ' ' + docname);

I've got an HTML file displayed at [URL]
The Firefox 3.6.12 displays only:
=========== Start ===========
10_ShowClassesAndTypes
Starting 10_ShowClassesAndTypestesting dw
=========== End ============
The "dw" function writes nothing. Suggestion on how to get "shorthand document.write" function working. In the meantime I'm going to see if I can get Protype to provide a shorthand function.
I am trying to use a user defined function and text area for a project, but nothing is showing up in the text area when i click the button.

Nothing happens either way.

I am having a problem of calling the user defined JS function after I make the AJAX call. Basically, I created couple radio buttons on the main html page. When the user clicks on one of the radio button, it will trigger the AJAX call and return another html file in the "div" content that I set in the main html page. The other html file contains a user defined JS function (e.g. "updateContent()") which use the onclick event handler to call the function. When I'm running the app, and click on the button. I had seen the firebug was complaining the "updateContent() is not defined" error. The function itself works fine and must be defined properly.
Here is the code in the main.html page:
Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
var asyncRequest;
function getTools(url){

I am trying to set up a toggle to allow users to show more precision when a user clicks a button. I have a function high() that doesn't do anything when it is called. I am fairly new to jQuery so I am not to familiar with the syntax.

it to work....
Im trying to add a cross browser event listener to an element so i made my own function that detects weather the browser is IE or Firefox, then add the appropriate eventListener function to the element.
Code JavaScript:
// CROSS-BROWSER ADD EVENT HELPER METHODS
function addCrossBrowserEventListener (elementName, eventName, functionName) {
// does the addEventListener function exist?
[Code]....
but when i run the code inside Firefox i get a error message "name.addCrossBrowserEventListener is not a function".
So I'm wondering is it possible to add custom functions to elements directly or is there any special way of doing it.
I don't know if I can/should do this w/ JavaScript on the client or can/should this be done on the server - and if so what language would be best?
Here's my goal:
I am asking users 4 questions - depending on the one selected - that answer creates a profile and that profiles stays with them throughout the site.
E.G.; if (women under 30) is selected this information will stay on the site throughout w/ content detailed for this group.
I've been writing a slideshow script that I've had working perfectly on my mac in Chrome and Safari, however I went to look at it in IE8 and lo and behold it falls over. It says 'object doesn't support this property or method' in relation to the new SlideShow line in the main() function.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a form button with id="submit". When pressed, ClickGeocode(credentials) is called. This works fine and dandy with: $('submit").click(ClickGeocode) Despite there being no indication that the function takes an argument 'credentials'. So when I want to call the function at some point in my code, I should be able to do something like ClickGeocode(credentials) ... no? However, my issue is that credentials isn't once defined in my code - it is part of Bing Maps function... like so:
function ClickGeocode(credentials)
{
map.getCredentials(MakeGeocodeRequest);
}
So why does it work using .click(), and how can I call the function without user interaction (simply somewhere in my code) even if 'credentials' is not defined?
Is there any javascript code that I can use in "window.open" that will pop up a window of whatever the user has set as the default browser window size? (This should be the size of the browser window when they first open it)
Also, any code to go to the user's defined homepage as set up in their browsers preferences?
Ok so the following code works.
function myFunction(myName)
{
alert("You are "+myName);
}
callFunction = "myFunction";
parameter = "Joe";

I know it's something stupid I'm doing but I can't figure it out. Essentially I'm trying to load two objects with URLs with two websites that can be loaded(displayed) and unloaded(hidden) at the click of a button.
I've spent an hour trying to debug this and I'm at my whits end! I'm doing this with changing the width and height of the divs that contain the objects that will load the websites. But, in Firefox I get an error in the error console saying : loadUnload is not defined. why? code...
I am writing a simple html in which when the user moves his mouse over a particular DIV, a message box will pop up.
Part of the code is as follows:

I dont know how to pass a DIV's ID to a self-defined function in JQuery.
I am getting $document.ready(function() not defined in the firebug console. I have seen that in most cases this is caused when the jQuery core is missing or the path is invalid. I do not believe this is the problem in my case becuase firebug shows the code as being loaded successfully and it is readable.

I'm making some changes to a google chrome extension I made and am having some trouble. Heres my code on a content script page (removeAttr.js) :
chrome.extension.sendRequest({greeting: "whitelist"}, function(response) {
var whitelist = response.whitelist;
console.log(response.whitelist);//working
});
alert(whitelist);//alerts "undefined"
How do I acess the whitelist variable from outside the sendrequest() function?
Iv tried saving it to a window.var variable with no luck. Iv tried creating a div and assigning it's innerHTML as the whitelist variable and getting it later with no luck. The fact that it's a chrome extension complicates things because i dont actually know if i can create elements from where the script is located.
