JQuery :: Bring An Element To Be Visible On Screen?

I have a setup where clicking on one of several spots on the screen shows one of the two forms that are hidden by default. I was wondering if there's a way to scroll the screen so this element is visible. Otherwise I can open below the fold and people will not know that something happened. The elements that I click on are not hyperlinks, jut regular divs. I was wondering if there's some method I overlooked that lets me take the page to a specific element.

I am trying to make the #div2 appear when the cursor moves over the #div1 at the current mouse position. Somehow the #div2 doesn't show up, and I tried to validate the where the #div2 would appear by an alert down in the code.
To my surprise, the alert message said 'auto' instead of the y coordinate of the mouse position.

I have an image that I set to have a width of 100%. I want its height to be no greater than the visible height of the browser web-page area. This could distort the image, but thats OK. To makes things difficult, the image is in a div, and I want the div to be higher than the visible area. So I can't just set the div to height of 100%, and then within that set the image to a height of 100%. I know there is a javascript way of getting the height of the entire screen (screen.height) but that includes the extra areas of the browser such as toolbars etc. I know there is a 'offsetHeight' attribute, but I think I would have to use that on the BODY tag, and the BODY of the page could be several screens in height. So is there a solution to this? If there isn't then can I detect the aspect ratio of the screen?

We have site that has autolinking of keywords (~150), each going to a specific page in the site. On a forum page with 300+ posts (all on one page) the php script takes too long and errors with max execution time exceeded. (the owner want it all on one page, and there are also anchor links somewhere else directly to the posts)
Now I have tested jQuery with viewport plugin to see if I can only autolink the table-rows that are visible in the screen only. (if I run the function on the whole page the script becomes unresponsive) It works fine on page load, but when I run it in a loop to update every 5 sec the already matched keywords just disappear! I have tried the scrollstop plugin as well, but made the scroll unresponsive

I have a web application with an asp:panel, users can add images, the program automatically make the thumbnail. when user click on thumbnail they can see a pop up modal page.Images are in different sizes, so what I need to achieve is to get the screen resolution or browser visible area and re-size the image according to this resolution. (users could have different type of computer screen with different resolution), I need a JavaScript or jquery code.

I have a class hidden by default at the document ready state. I use the show() function when its parent has been clicked and I want to be able to apply a click function to this newly visible element - when I write it I am finding that it is overriding the initial hide(). How do I work around this? I should say that this element is just a bit of text that says "close x" and will be used to "close" its parent div down...

I need to find out how to center an element on a form that scrolls. I have code (below) that displays a dialog, but I can't figure out how to make sure the dialog is centered on the page when the dialog displays as the user scrolls down the page. The dialog is displayed from a click on a href tag. I thought I could get the x,y coordinates where the href was click, but can't figure out how to center since the href can be at either the upper or low end of the page when it shown.

I am unsure what is going on with my website? I had flash on it, and I have removed the flash and installed javascript. Everything is installed correctly from what I can see, when I go to the view page button on Dreamweaver the images rotate. When I upload it to my server they stop rotating.I have download all of the files needed for this to work, and have added them all to my server. Here is a copy of the coding.

Is it possible to have a draggable div that will only be draggable between certain coordinates? in other words create a window through which the draggable div is visible and draggable. Would you use a stop drag when cursor hits a certain point? my div is a map and will be about 2000px by 2000px and want to have a fixed position and size of 500px by 500px so that that is all the user will see or be able to interact with. I know in image slider plugins that the divs scroll to the side or up and down through what appears to be a window so it should be possible?

For example.It show objects if I remove the if statement that checks if the class is visible.for example this shows a class and works.

Is there a jQuery function that can cause an element to slide down as in fly from an edge of a screen to the location that it is supposed to be at? The slideDown();function causes an element to start at the top of the container the element it is applied to and then roll down. I guess what I am looking for is something that would on an event slide from an edge of a screen or browser window to where it is supposed to go? Are there any functions or transitions like that?

I setup a jquery ajax request to update my sql database... (add a product to shopping cart) then after it completes I want to use .load to re-load the shoppingcart (the cart is currently loaded with php include - so it is it's own seperate .php file). The problem is that when it reloads it doesn't have the "current version" If i refresh the page it's fine..

I have also tried to put a variable in front from the $.ajax and then use $("#cart").ajaxComplete(function() { $(this).load("cart.php"); } });
But yet still no luck. How to make ajax load a page after the mysql update has been done then display it?! I used to do this all the time before I started using jquery. When readyState was = 4 { load page code here } it would always work.
