I'm trying to replace the <head> of a page with the <head> of another page.[code]I call $("head").load("/About head")expecting to replace the <head> section of the current page with that of URL...However, the function seems to insert an empty string into my <head> tag.

I mean, what is the best practice when you insert into the DOM a part of pageB with all the code (title, meta, etc...) that is associated with pageB. (initially i was inserting the whole pageB because of "gracefull degradation", but this inserts the whole pageB DOM into the pageA DOM).

I'm developing this website: [URL]...but now I have a problem. Just on IE it's not loaded right If i put any <script> tag on my page to load, even if it's an HTML comment (<!-- <script> ... -->), the jQuery loads, and the jQuery response says SUCCESS, but doesn't show like needs to show on the screen :( If i delete the script tag, it shows perfect on the whole IEs (ie 6, ie 7 and ie 8)
Does anybody have any idea what is happening? what can i do to fix it? Obs: You can click on the other menus, and it'll load perfect, just the fist page not, because has the script tag
I try to remove element using JQuery, but it doesn't work. The javascript DOM version will work. JQuery doesn't support bracket and dot in id value ?

When I run this code, alert returns null, not array. The same with any element, f.e. "#element". Why it doesn't work?
i have a basic 2 column page, on the left is the navigation, on the right the content.i'm loading in the content with the load() method - some php generated html code which looks like this e.g.

so if i click on the toggle div.. nothing happens so i tried to put a <p id="toggle"> in the navigation bar which is static (not being load()-ed in via jQuery) and it worked so it seems to me, that jQuery can't get the click event out of the load()-ed page
I'm having problems getting this bit of code to work. It works when the page is on my local drive, but when I publish it online it doesn't. The code is exactly the same when local or online. after a lot of investigations I don't know the answer why the attached sample doesn't work properly. Please take a look at the attached sample. That's a html file. Because of forbidden uploads of html files i removed the file extension. So please put after download the file extension ".html" on it and take a look at the sourcecode. The goal is to parse the included xml structure and to show the some information as checkboxes with a title or description.
The checkboxes are parsed based on a xml attributes. That works fine. The title/description should be parsed out of an xml element. That doesn't work. I don't know why. In my opinion the reason is the way of doing of the element pasring which is not right defined for IE.

A side question is, why does FF work? Because it's a local-web-server?

check the alerts:

Perhaps there is something wrong with $(this).children('title').first().text(); or i have no child nodes in my object. normally I use find() to get rid of that but i saw somewhere that filter() is possible for older ie versions.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a js(using jQuery lib) file where all events and following actions(functions) are written. For one of such events there is a function that prepends one more similar element from which prepending was called:

so that when I will click to just prepended element one more element should be prepended and so on.The problem is that when new element is prepended, click event doesn't work on it. jQuery doesn't recognize it, like doesn't see it.
i have to txt <inputs> on a php web page, which use the jquery datepicker. however when i do an ajax refresh of one of the spans on the page, the datepicker wont pop up any more unless i do a reload of the whole page?

I am trying to insert the following call into my page;

It works fine in all browsers except ie(6,7,8) Internet Explorer can not open website. Operation Aborted. I understand it is caused by the jquery autocomplete function loading before the page / DOM has fully loaded. I tried adding Defer="true" to the script however this doesn't seem to work. what i must add to the script so that it loads after the dom has fully loaded?
This javascript code works in ie 8, chrome 3, opera 10, safari 3.0, but in Mozilla 3.6.0 it doesn't work. please help me to fix it.

I'm using the Google AJAX APIs, but some reason google.load works when run through normal javascript, but if I call the method from my jquery ready function it doesn't work. Code and output is below

window.loadFirebugConsole is not a function If I comment out line 3 in code.js, the console debug runs okay, so the ready function is running okay. Even though there's a reference to Firebug, the same error occurs in Safari too. Nothing on the page loads.
I have 2 page. one of them,is gallery.html and another one, is index.html.i want to load the content of the gallery page into <div id="content-gallery"></div> in index.html.I use the fallowing code :
