my script that works in firefox/opera like a charm, but doesn't so in IE8.
Here we go:
$(document).ready(function(){
$(".folder").live('click',function(){
var id = $(this).attr("id");
if($('#' + id).hasClass('folderClosed')){
[Code].....
The basic idea is to show a "virtual" directorie from a mysql database over json. The first part works also quit well, only the .remove() function doesn't work right, which means the sub <ul> elements remaining on the page.
I love Jquery but I've got some starting problems. code...
When I click on the X the tab disappears, perfect, as it should be. But when I create a new tab and try to remove that one it doesn't do anything.
What im I doing wrong?
the remove(i) doesn't remove the option[i] but works unexpectedly and removes the first 4 options.how to delete the selected index only?

When I run this code, alert returns null, not array. The same with any element, f.e. "#element". Why it doesn't work?
I have this code:
Code:
<html>
<head>
<style type='css/text'/>
splash { position:absolute; left:0px; top:0px; z-index:2 }
page { position:absolute; left:0px; top:0px; z-index:1 }
[Code]....
Why doesn't this remove the 'splash' element in half a second?
after a lot of investigations I don't know the answer why the attached sample doesn't work properly. Please take a look at the attached sample. That's a html file. Because of forbidden uploads of html files i removed the file extension. So please put after download the file extension ".html" on it and take a look at the sourcecode. The goal is to parse the included xml structure and to show the some information as checkboxes with a title or description.
The checkboxes are parsed based on a xml attributes. That works fine. The title/description should be parsed out of an xml element. That doesn't work. I don't know why. In my opinion the reason is the way of doing of the element pasring which is not right defined for IE.
I'm trying to replace the <head> of a page with the <head> of another page.[code]I call $("head").load("/About head")expecting to replace the <head> section of the current page with that of URL...However, the function seems to insert an empty string into my <head> tag.

The goal is to parse the included xml structure and to show the some information as tabs with a title. Unfortunately I need to run that in IE& or to day in quirks document mode cause my application just runs on that. <press F12 in IE and set document mode to quirks>
check the alerts:
alert('ID: ' + $(this).attr('id')); works fine but not this: alert('ATTR: ' + $(this).children('title').first().text());
Perhaps there is something wrong with $(this).children('title').first().text(); or i have no child nodes in my object. normally I use find() to get rid of that but i saw somewhere that filter() is possible for older ie versions.
I have a js(using jQuery lib) file where all events and following actions(functions) are written. For one of such events there is a function that prepends one more similar element from which prepending was called:
$("#id1").click(function(){
$(...).before("<div id='id1'></div>");
});
so that when I will click to just prepended element one more element should be prepended and so on.The problem is that when new element is prepended, click event doesn't work on it. jQuery doesn't recognize it, like doesn't see it.
This time I have a trouble with remove(). Here is my code :
$.each(val.produitsIds,
function (j, val2) {
if($('#chk_' + i).prop("checked")){
//$('#' + val2).prepend("<div>liste des tailles</div>");
$('#' + val2).prepend("<div>" + $('#chk_' + i).attr("value") + "</div>");
}

i have got about 50 definition lists on one html-page witch all look linke this:
<dl>
<dt class="title">aaa</dt>
<dd class="subtitle">bbb</dd>
<dd class="city">ccc</dd>
<dd class="email">ddd</dd>
<dd class="website">eee</dd>
<dd class="description">fff</dd>
</dl>
if the dt-element in one of the definition lists has a specific css-property (e.g. length > 100px) then the dd-element with the css-class "subtitle" in the same definition list should be removed.
I've this script:
When I press again the "a.item_add" link it doesn't work (doesn't fadein the div again). how can I "restart" the script ?
This is a makeshift sort function for a table. I want to replace a div contents with a javascript function call. It works fine if I define the individual case, but the general case doesn't work. The problem lies with the +divHold+ part. It never converges to the passed value on the 2nd iteration. This is my Div:
[Code]...
<li><input type="checkbox" name="test" />test</li>
how can I remove the input field from the list?I want to end like this:
<li><input type="checkbox" name="test" />test</li>
I thought the following, but does not work:
$('li').remove('input');
The "Permission denied" cross site issue.
I have to check from my external domain if a service is running on localhost:8080 of a local machine.
I'm using XMLHttpRequest to do it.
I'm checking a local-web-server, not a file.
Every browser doesn't work, but Firefox. So I'm looking for a work-aorund.
An iframe? a flash swf? an applet java? HTA applications?
A side question is, why does FF work? Because it's a local-web-server?
I have a page where I need to insert some html elements dynamically and I use append. It seems to work fine. But then at a later point I also need to remove the elements I added and I am using the remove function but does not seem to work. As you can see in my code, I tested the effect on the element by storing the html both before and after calling the remove method. But both variables (before and after the remove function call) holds the same html. In other words, the element that was supposed to have been removed is still there.

I am trying to put a remove link beside each newly created input. It doesn't work. It only works if I put the remove link in the HTML and not inject it dynamically. Can anybody work out why this would be?

I have to remove a node from XML using jquery but remove() and empty()is not working.
var xmlData = {xml document};
$(xmlData).find({node}).each(function(){
$(this).remove(); or $(this).parent().empty();
})
This work fine for firefox but not work in ie.Can anybody provide me with some workaround so that i'll be able to remove node from XML.
Why doesnt the following code work in IE. There is an error on the same row as fillText. It says object doesnt support this property or method.

I have a "hard-wired" html div which encloses a button. Clicking the button causes the execution of a JS which successfully creates another div which encloses a button. The onclick attribute of the second button points to a JS which is supposed to remove the second div, the second div is not removed. I am using Firefox Deer Park Alpha 2 on an iMac 10.3.9.
Assume for the moment that I have not made a mistake in any of the code. Is it possible that a div cannot remove itself?
I have some problems with removing <li> element by clicking on <a href=""> element in it.
For example:
<ul id="menuList">
<li><input type="text" class="title"/> <input type="text" class="block" /><a class="delete" href="#">Delete</a><li/>
<li> <input type="text" class="title"/> <input type="text" class="block" /> <a class="delete" href="#">Delete</a><li/>
[Code]...
It checks all <li> elements and save value of title and block input fields in array of objects ang generate JSON - code and input it into #code element.But when I delete one of the <li> by clicking the link, it becomes invisible for me, but function ParseMenu save it into array whatever/ What can I delete this <li> element from everywhere?
I appended an a and select tag inside a div.
When a checkbox is checked it will append these items. Yet, now I want it where if it's not checked or the person unchecks it... then it will remove the appended elements.
How can I do this?
This is the code I have so far:
if($('input[name="hosting_Service"]').not(":checked")){
$("#hosting_text").remove();
$("#hosting_options").remove();
}
This is inside a php echo.. so don't mind the " " it's just saying it's " "
according to the code... I check with a if statement if true and remove the elements. the condition is when the checkbox is not checked. I have the same exact code to append the elements inside the div. but instead I used the .is instead of .not the hosting_Service is the input that is a checkbox.
however this code seems to work.. only for hosting_options. yet, it breaks all the code... meaning I have the if statement before this checking if it is checked... then append the elements.
well if I add the code above it dosen't allow when you check the box to append the elements inside a div.Yet if I didn't add this code and then click the checkbox it will append the elements but without refreshing the page.. if I then add this code given to above the hosting_options would only be removed and the hosting_text will still not be removed.
I was both to work properly. I want it where if you click the check box to mark it... it should append elements into the div. If you uncheck it then it should remove those elements that were appended.
How i Add/Remove element dynamically using jquery ,i want to Add/remove not more then 8 element (ie Textbox)
