I've created a accordion with a unorderd list. You cann see this effect on jsfiddle.Unfortunately there are problems with more than one level. A click in this case hide the parent and next click is needed.

I would like to request my SQL database only when i clic on the header of a mail, and avoid to preload all the mails. The other problem, much important in my case, is to mark the mail "read" or "unread". There is a column in the SQL database for this. So, the mail needs to change to "read" state when I click on his accordion's header. Before using accordion, I was using simple link which reloads all the page. I've no problem with PHP/SQL, but I'm not so good in javascript/jquery, or ajax...
SQL request (simplified) :

I have an accordion list much like the example here : [URL]. Say for instance I have page links under the heading 'Section 2' of that demo above. How can I make it so that when you visit a page from these links 'Section 2' is visible and 'section 1' and 'section 3' are closed?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a page that displays a list of people playing in a tournament. I need to be able to generate a Leaderboard based on which players are manually selected by the admin. Next to each person there is a drop-down list. An admin can go in and select a "slot" that a player should be in on the leader board from 1 to 8, or leave it blank if none. What I need to figure out how to do is the following, when a change event happens on a drop-down list, and say the value 5 is selected, I need to check to make sure that 5 is not already selected in one of the other players drop-down lists, in other words, that the 5th leaderboard slot is not already full. if it is, display an error message and make them change that one first. how to do that with jQuery? I'm thinking it will have something to do with the each() function, but not sure exactly how the logic should work.

In my example the basic categories are: News , Announcements , Contact and Career. Only Announcements and Career categories have subcategories. So i would like those two to turn green. The fact is that the list items include a href ,so i don't know how to access those "a href" combined with "this".

I have been trying to make an expand/collapse (essentially accordion) list. So far, everything works and looks fine in Firefox, Safari, and Chrome, but in IE8, the page height is static when it loads, with a page height being as if all headers in the list were expanded. The expand/collapse functionality works,but as you can imagine, there is this big gap of space after the list.
The html markup uses <h2> tags for the always-visible header portion and a <div> for the expanding/collapsing content. The <div> content contains form elements and everything is enclosed in a form tag.Anyways, here is the jQuery code:

I'm working on a project that requires dynamic manipulation of an ordered list -- adding and removing elements in response to the user pressing buttons. I've run in to some odd behavior. Here's my code:

Looks pretty straightforward, problem is when I add the new list element it does not prepend it with any number (being part of an ordered list). Now if I remove the hide and fadeIn lines (just append it), it inserts it correctly with a number before it, but I want this to look pretty being jQuery and all...
I'm trying to accomplish an accordion-like function, but instead of dropping down the section below, the content just lays over the other options.
For example, take a look at the Accordion example here: [url]
Notice how when section 2 is clicked, section 1 rolls up. I'm trying to achieve something where with section 1 open, the user would need to click on section 1 to close it and then could select section 2 which would overlay its content below, rather than pushing section 3 down.
Is there an option on accordion that I'm missing or can this be accomplished using another widget or plugin?
I've tried various other ideas posted here but I cannot get this working in IE7. Sample page :[URL]I am aware there can be issues in IE7 with <div> tags inside <a> tags .. I tried replacing all the divs with span but no success.

It worked great in Firefox, but not in IE. So, I decided I'd try Accordion UI and I spent the afternoon learning how to use jQuery UI and themeroller and trying to get it to work, but to no avail. I've tried everything I know to try. take a look at this page:[URL]
(left column only... ignore the accordion references on the right, they refer to the above attempt.) It appears that the jQuery is not working at all - the scripts OR the css...
I am having trouble trying to load contents on a tab in accordion on the fly. Which means, the content for a particular tab will only be loaded and displayed when user click on it. Is there any example available? I am still trying it with Ajax. I know this is the correct direction but couldn't sort things out.

What is happening is that I have an accordion with sublevels, but it's not working properly. When I click on Test1, it should only show test2 and test7, but it is showing test3 and test5 (that are insinde test2), that only should be visible when clicking test2.
do anyone know how do i slidedown animation using jquery mobile ? im able to do the normal animation thats given in example. Its just kind of hide and show but i need to do a animation like when i click the top div tag it should slide down the inner div content.

Within some of the accordions I have input boxes, select boxes etc. I have no issues with the select boxes, but with the input boxes clicking into them does not give focus to them and I cannot type anything in. However, right-clicking a couple of times do then allow text to be types in.

I am using jquery accordion where multiple accordions can be opened by user. I added onclick event to that adds source to an iframe within that accordion when user clicks on it. If you browse the above with IE you will see that the content load first before the accordion kicks in to structure content into the accordion nicely.
My question is whether it is possible to get the accordion loaded first and then load the content only after that. This is so that we will not see the raw content first before it got put into the accordion.
