The input field is a text based field it will contain a name from a list of current names... the link is a search button which brings up a smaller window if the user does not know a name... this way they can search in the smaller window using a dropdown menu otherwise just type the name into the form... my windows and stuff pop up fine but i can't figure out how to make the value of the input field equal that of the selected information in the pop-up windows form field when it closes...

When a user enters information in those two textboxes and click on submit, the information is sent to a function in Javascript. In the javascript, the information from those textboxes is stored in a javascript variable. The problem is as follows:When I am inputting string text in the html text boxes and in the javascript when I am trying to print those values, it is giving me out an error saying NaN. However when i input integer values in the text boxes it is printing those numbers. Is there a conversion that I have to do for the string to be printed. I am new to Javascript and need your help. My main issue is that i want this to select from a database so i found out that you can get information from php files i just couldn't figure out how to get the variables it submits. Aug 24, 2010I am currently in the process of writing an interactive calendar in jscript. It's my first major project so bear with me please, I'm quite new :P.
I was hoping to add a section of code to the calendar which would allow me to display events happening on a certain date and add new ones etc.
However I was not sure how best to store the information as I know javascript is not 'designed' to access files. I was wondering maybe a cookie or learning how to use SQL? Or is there something that I haven't come accross yet?

The actual scenario is, I need to allow the access to the page only if the

Jul 20, 2005Is there anyway to use javascript to be able to retrieve information from
someone, then have it post to a text document on a server? Without
overwriting whats in the document at the time. The server I'm using doesn't
support php, asp, or anything to be able to database (that and i don't even
know how, yet). Plus, I don't need it to retrieve from a database...just a
simple text file that can be written to and read from.

i have a div up here and the id is inuse it chooses the first selection automatically to use
below that is a "menu" when one of the items are clicked it moves the information pulled via php from whichever one is clicked to the inuse div... as you can tell i am new to js and am trying to start out doing some different things with menu onlick items etc..

My goal is to have the four Javascript buttons toggle the four pictures on and off. I know my css is right. Since everything is placed where I want it and is hidden when the page loads. I believe everything in my html is right. I am reasonably sure I am passing the img id using the onclick function correctly. I think my problem is in the Javascript file. I am thinking I am not passing it into the function correctly.

May 8, 2009I have a large table with too many columns, I have a column show / hide script. Just to reduce the script size, I want to do some modification. On the First ROW of the Table, there are columns heading, and each have an ID. i.e. <image id="col1"...> Now, I want to have a function where if I pass the ID, it determine the column index it self, OR if I pass the column Index, it will return the column ID.
