Is there anyway I can get the username and domain of the user accessing a
webpage using somekind of client side script. Users accessing the page are
always Windows users.
The actual scenario is, I need to allow the access to the page only if the
user is logged onto a domain. If user is not logged in to the domain deny
access.
I've got two seperate websites that I'm working on. I am doing the design of the main website and the second site is a secure login area which another person has created.
My question is... can I put a login form on the main page, and then have it transfer the information into the secure login? The purpose being so that people can login directly from the main page instead of having to click to go to the secure area and then log in?
i m making a web app. after login i want the app run in a 1280*800 size window. i saw many tuts on how to make a popup window but what i don't get it where should i post the code? in the login page or the main home page and so on?

I have a HTML form containing two text box controls in it and a submit button. When a user enters information in those two textboxes and click on submit, the information is sent to a function in Javascript. In the javascript, the information from those textboxes is stored in a javascript variable. The problem is as follows:When I am inputting string text in the html text boxes and in the javascript when I am trying to print those values, it is giving me out an error saying NaN. I have a parent window that pushes a new window object onto an Array
with the following code :

This pops up a new window with every call. In the child window I call
a parent function onbeforeunload, appClose() :

The window.opener.CloseChild() function is called perfectly when I have
one child window open, but as soon as I create another child window
both of the open child windows don't ever call it. They do both go
into the onbeforeunload appClose() function, but do not call the
window.opener.CloseChild() function inside of this routine.
Anyone have any ideas why when I have two child windows open I can't
access the window.opener functions?

I'm doing 1 web-system, where login page in .jsp but other functional page in .html where I use javascript to do function. So if user knows any other html page's url then they can browse directly any of those page. But I've to prevent them & send to login page if they try to browse with out login. Very sad I can't do it

If not, is there a way to run a 'echo %USERNAME%' from DOS command

I found his basic code online for a popup login but I don't know how to get the information from it either into php variables or whatever i need to do code...
I put the css on a separate page and just copied the login link and the javascripts. I don't know how to get the information into php variables so i can check it with the database.
