I wrote a form with a little DOM/AJAX to submit the form data. The page is being used in google ad campaign, so after a user fills in the form, a google script is run to count conversions.
I am having trouble getting the script to work properly. Since I am not reloading a page, I am including the file dynamically the DOM WAY. Below is a snippet of the code. The code is part of a function that runs when the readyState == 4. Code:
I really don't understand why I am getting this error (parsererror TypeError: data is null [object XMLHttpRequest]) after making the following AJAX request:

So I am wondering why the .ajax function has an error, and yet the XML is being returned?
My prob is that the huge amount of data (15MB of XML) that is loaded by an AJAX call, literally locks the browser while loading it into the DOM. Does any of you know if there is a way to prevent that. Btw - As you see I use jQuery and the ajaxManager plugin.

I worked with now in jQuery. Property however at present the following problem: [i]I provide a AJAX Request. the side is loaded, the parameters all conveyed and back receives I a complete HTML side. Now I would like to have only certain elements however from this side, like DIV, SPAN etc. How can I make with the AJAX Request return in such a way best, which I can select these elements thereby? View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a php page which returns a table representing a query sent to a MySQL database. So far it has worked in every case except now that I'm trying to use it to call a stored procedure, in which case the readystate is staying at 1 and never completing.
I have logged the results of the php file both in an error log and looked at the response from the request using firebug, both of which show a correct result.
Why isn't this returning properly?

All Ajax libraries I've read use encodeURIComponent() on the name-value pairs extracted from forms before POST ing the result to the server with and xmlhttprequest. I can understand why this encoding is required in the case of a GET request and the form data is attached as a URI query string; however, why is the encoding necessary for POST requests?

I am seeing very peculiar behavior in my browser's (chrome)request headers when signing into amazon. The form data, always has the following two header names appended to the second and third to last places of the form data query: x=(some random number), and y=(some random number).
There are no input tags getting dynamically generated,since when i tell google chrome to break on all subtree modifications, the site still sends off the post with the added parameters before anything gets modified, BEFORE crashing. There also is NO ajax call which is causing dynamically added data to be appended to the form post.My question is this: is there any way, using javascript, to instruct a browser, to append data as data, to a form post, WITHOUT the use of dynamically appended input elements, or ajax?
I have a form that submits a POST request when data is submitted.
A Servlet then processes this POST request and a JavaBean is used to make some calculations. The HTML response is not generated within the Servlet but instead I forward the request to a JSP to generate the response. - This all works fine.
However, I am stupidly suck trying to validate the form on the client side with a Javascript function before the form is submitted.

Regardless of whether incorrect input is given, the data is still POSTed to the server and calculated on or a Server Side error is given.
Am I correct in calling the function onclick?
The validation essentially needs to be so that:
- Student field contains a string
- Score1, Score2, Score3 and Score 4 contain a number between 0 and 100

I have a graph that i need to be dynamic in the sense that a user would click a checkbox and select which info will be displayed. I can do this using php, but i want a seamless transition done. My thoughts are AJAX SO basically i need a way to send a a request to a php page lets say graph.php with a variable set liek so: graph.php?id=1

My problem is that the JavaScript from the request does not work, I can only seem to display regular HTML. Is there a solution to this problem to make the JavaScript work or do I have to use an HTML alternative?
I am doing a JSON request to get data back from a PHP file. On the return of that data, I am using a for loop to go through the data and post it up using JS. Here is my code:

Now, what is happening, because there is 10 entries being posted, my JS is looking at the class that is being put together (main-armory button) and making it so that class appends every run through. So, I want one entry for main-armory button and I am getting this:

I'm writing a little application with JSF 2.0 + jQuery. My page contains a simple input form, a submit button and a div containing one div for each string that the user type in the input text field. i'm using JSF 2.0 ajax to send the request to the server and rerendering only the div-container, with the updated content. Initially the div contains a single div with a text example for the user. Every div inserted by the user has the style-class "user", so with jquery I manipulate all off them through a simple function.

This code doesn't work at all after the submit event, so for test purpose only i've changed the event to click and ,using the event generated from the mouse click, it's working.
But obviously i need to apply my jquery function right after the ajax request and without the user's partecipation.
