Imitate PHP Round Function In JS?
Jun 22, 2011
When rounding these 2 numbers in PHP and JS i get the following results:
22.044960000000003
PHP = 22.04
JS = 22.05 [code].....
}
I have tried many functions but cant seem to produce the same result as the PHP round. Does anyone have a solution to how can i get the same result using JS?

To round off a value to a specified number of digits:
function RoundIt(Value,Digits) {
var P=Math.pow(10,Digits);
var R=Math.round(Value*P)/P;
var G=true;
while(G) {
R=String(R);
var L=R.length;
var I=R.indexOf('.');
if (I == -1) {
R=R+'.'
} else {
var D=L-I-1;
if (D < Digits) {
R=R+Ɔ'
} else {
G=false;
}
}
}
return R;
}

This sci calculator listed in [URL] has Round function which rounds the result to a nearest integer. I wonder if it possible to easy modify it so that it would leave two numbers after decimal point when it perform rounding? The calculator's script has these codes related to Round:
<INPUT style="WIDTH: 74px; HEIGHT: 31px" onclick="Round()" type=button size=24 value=Round>
And
function Round()
{form1.display.value=Math.round(form1.display.value);}
I tried {form1.display.value=Math.round(form1.display.value,2);}, but it did no do it.

I am trying to imitate facebook's wall , and it should allow images if needed, instead of words. I know that this isn't possible without server side languages, but I'm just trying it out with Javascript, knowing that once I refresh, all my comments will disappear. However, the only problem is I am stuck on how to make an image show up. I've googled, and I've come to know that images can't be uploaded in a textarea. That is my option one, entitled working.html
OPTION 1(working.html)
-Every comment will be uploaded into one single textarea. My problem is, where do the images go?
OPTION 2 (fran.html)
- Once a commenter posts something, a new textarea will be created using innerHTML, that way, I can use divs to upload the image right next to the textarea.
-Except, this should be vertical, not horizontal, like I have it.
And how do I put an image in from a user input? (The user will type the location of the image in the local computer in a form text box, and once they click submit, the image should upload.) My professor won't allow us to use the input type "file."
Attached File(s)
Working.html (1008bytes)
Number of downloads: 115
fran.html (986bytes)
Number of downloads: 72

how to imitate browser zoom with javascript?I know you are not allowed to control browser's zoom capabilities, but perhaps there's a way to change all content dimensions with javascript?In firefox, when you press ctrl+, the whole page resizes appropriately, even background images.With this imitation JS zoom, background images would not zoom since there is no scale size numer or anything like that in CSS.It would simply be cool to have a script that resizes everything on the page. That way, you can design highdefinition content that fits a 1280 * 960 browser frame, but can zoom out for smaller resolutions (1024 or 800).

I haven't found in my CSS book how to create a gradient to fill a division
tag, and to create a border with round corners.
Is it possible using either CSS or JavaScript? I'd like to create a menu bar with a gradient in the background, and I want the top corners to be a little round with a 5px radius.

First time user of Javascript and built an online calculator, trouble is I dont know where or how to code it so the answer ends with only 2 decimals
I have embedded code, Personally I think it's a miracle the darn thing works.:thumbsup: Link to page it's on [URL]...I have searched and read but after hours of trying stuff gave up.
<!--
function treevalue() {
document.volume.result.value=(((3.14159*((document.volume.radius.value)*(document.volume.radius.valu e)))*(document.volume.height.value))/3)*(document.volume.base.value)*(document.volume.e.value)*(document.volume.fv.value)*(document.volum e.l.value);

I am trying to use the following javascript [URL] to create something similar to the example on [URL] for a school project but I wondered if someone could advise me how I can round numbers to 2 decimal places in the field box as I have to convert the calculated value by an exchange rate, e.g.:
where x=100 and y=50
calculate="(x+y)/1.55"
returns a value of 96.77419355. I would like to round this figure up to 2 decimal places so it would read 96.77 but I cannot figure out how to do this.

My javascripting is getting there, I have been learning for the last week and I have produced a working script however im getting stuck with how you round a variable (stored user input) up to the nearest whole number to 2 decimals I have looked at many tutorials and I think that the math.round has to be used somewhere but I cannot work out the syntax to integrate it into my code because everywhere I have looked seems to be using document.write syntax:

According to the Apple docs, the round arrow in a list means that the next page is the final page. In Jquery, the default is the gray chevron pointing to another list. How do I make the round arrow (arrow in circle) icon appear instead?

I'm a bit confused as I'm just learning PHP/Java, and need to display a percentage. I successfully can display a percentage, however, the decimal like any calculate displays .00000012130 whatever sometimes. How can I round the output to the nearest 10s place?
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
var a = "14";
var b = "25";
document.write(parseInt(a) / parseInt(b) * 100);
document.write("%");
</script>
This is the code I use, however, it needs to be modified so that it rounds to the nearest 10 instead of display a decimal.

I was wondering if there is a way to find the total round trip time of a request. Addins like firebug and chromes console show you this round trip time but i was hoping there was a way to extract it from the response itself.
I would also like to know the response time from when the server sent the request and the client received it. I do not think this is possible since the server and client have different timing systems but it would be very useful.

I have been trying to get my way round the DOJO charting using the declarative (html) method.
1. I have a ItemFileReadStore for the data source
2. I know the data store has data as I am outputting it to a grid as well.
The only thing that appears is the axes and the numbering for the x axis, there is no line and the numbering for the y - axis, tried googling, but to no avail.

I am trying to make a round corners script in object oriented programming method. This is purely for learning purposes.
The script is no where near complete but I am already having problems with it.
I am trying out the techniques described in 'David Flanagan ' text book 'JavaScript: The Definitive Guide, 5th Edition'
This code is called from html page which once working will place a round container around element
The selector parameter in Custom_rounded_container function is defined because only the else part of the if statement in Custom_rounded_container is executing. I put this in because few people at other forums thought the problem was because of the selector parameter being undefined.

I have a very weired problem (which is not easy to describe.. but I'll do my best):I have a html page with several forms , only one of the got the action="ComputeAndReturn" and the other forms got only name="" tag.the problem is that after i submit the form with the action , and than after a computatioon it returns to the original page, now... if i will submit any of the forms without the action=.they will act as if they were defined action="ComputeAndReturn" (altho they are not!)if they were defined from the first time with action="anything", and than i would submit the form with action="ComputeAndReturn" this problem would not appear (the other forms will keep their action="anything" and would not "imitate" the action= "Compute AndReturn" to them selfs...
any ideas how can i keep my forms without action="" , cause all i need them to do is be submitted to pass the submitted value to other form inside that page.[code]
