Image Swap By Thumbnails When In A Cell Background?

Looking for javascript, to do what i've hap-hazardly slapped together here: I'd like to do this without having to reload a page or create a new page for each image.

Specifically the switching of the main image by the thumbnails. The difference in what i've seen online, is that i'm actually using them as a cell background.

I am creating a custom gallery that I require an image and text to swap on click of an anchored thumbnail. I have successfully managed to change the image on click however I can't seem to manage changing the text. Currently when a user clicks on the thumbnail both the image and text is swapped however when the user clicks on another anchored thumbnail (after clicking on the first) the image swaps correctly but the text does not change My Code

Right, here goes: I'm using a modified "jQuery Cycle Plugin - 'goto' Demo 2 (aka: Poor Man's pager)" implementation of the Cycle plugin, this works fine in FF2+, Op9, Saf3+ and Chrome2 but in IE cycle stops the background- image from repeating! As usual I cannot give out a public link due to NDA but I can give you these two image locations to see the differences: [URL]

I'm trying to swap the background image of my index page logo div when a document is loaded into an Iframe on the index page. This is what I have so far in the external js of the page loaded to the Iframe. The function is called in the window onload of the same js file but it makes the logo image turn blank. The alert declares 'silver jewelry' and the image I want to replace the logo is named 'silver jewelry.jpg'

I have a snippet of code that swaps a background image when a link is clicked and swaps the image back to the original when clicked again. This works perfectly in IE and Firefox (both PC and MAC) but doesn't work in Safari. In safari it works on the first click and the first swap back then it stops working.

I'm trying to achieve an effect where background image will change once you hover over a different link, but not sure how to go about that...Here's what I got:

I'm trying to be tricky and its not been working LOL. I have a gallery page with lots of thumbnails that load up. What I wanted to do was have a "LOADING IMAGE" GIF in each of the table cells so that the user would see visually how many more images were going to load up. That bit is fine but when all the thumbs have loaded I want to change that Cell background image to something else.
How would I do this? Would I be able to reference them all at once or would I have to reference each individual cell one at a time.

I'm looking for a very simple image gallery solution (no lightbox or something other fance) with a large image and a x amount of thumbnails at one off the sides, where the big image change whenever another thumbnail is clicked, without page refresh. ( a fade transition would be nice)!Which Plugin, preferably as light as possible, is the most suitable for this task?

Is there any way to have the background color change in a cell only when the mouse is over the link? This is what I have so far:

First off, I am no professional coder, so bare with me. The goal was to implement a photo gallery using "ImgBrowz0r" (javascript), and a jQuery plugin called prettyphoto, to make the selected photo pop-up in front of the website. I am very impressed by the way it looks thusfar.

One thing bugs me however, which I can not wrap my head around;
When viewing the above gallery in Windows 7, using IE8, the thumbnails display really weird rollover behavior. The thumbs are not clickable, except for on the 1-px border and sometimes the exact centerlines. I found out that it is an issue everywhere, except on the last row of folder thumbnails. The last row works perfectly fine! Can anyone explain this to me? I am lost!

I have a php script that gets all images in my directory and outputs them as gallery[0]=firstimage.jpg, [1], [2], .. The php script is supposed to work with the javascript, so to cover all angles here is the php

I'm the webmaster for a recreational organization. As part of one page of the
site, I have an HTML "Calendar at a Glance" of the organization's events for
the month. It's a simple table of a calendar, 7 across by whatever needed
down, and I manually create it each month - not a big deal.
Every day I go in and darken the background color of the current day's cell
by changing the appropriate <TD> entry to <TD bgcolor="c63800"> and uploading
the page. Takes well under a minute start to finish. Thus the calendar
gradually changes color over the course of the month, with the past dates dark
and the future dates lighter and thus more apparent to the eye.
But I have to ask if there's a nifty way in which this might be done
automatically, based on the current day and the number (the day of the month)
that follows the <TD> entry.
A typical "before" entry is
<TD>23<br>Peet's Coffee, Newport Beach<br><br>8 AM: Don<br>9 AM: Molly</TD>
and an "after" entry is
<TD bgcolor="c63800">23<br>Peet's Coffee, Newport Beach<br><br>8 AM: Don<br>9
AM: Molly</TD>
I don't pretend to be a javascript heavy, but can usually stumble my way
through a task given some words of wisdom. Is this "doable"?

Is it possible to change a table cell background color or add any attributes based on a criteria, anyway, here's my scenario. I have a php table dynamically created onthefly, (let say on load), then i have a sql query returning some values. So illustrating:
Table: Sql Result
1 2 3 4 5 2 5 7
6 7 8 9 10
What I am trying to achieve is use the sql result to add attributes to the table cells so for the illustration say i want to add a bold attribute to all table cell which corresponds to the sql result, the result would be,
Result:
1 2 3 4 5
6 7 8 9 10
Any plugins out there? "Its php (server-side) and jquery (client-side) talking...but I know there is a way!

There are many script on the e web that can easily do what I am looking for but they don't teach me anything. I am trying to learn this stuff, and the best way will be to know what each variable is doing, what function is being called when the thumbnail is hover or focus.
All I need is to start with a single image, when I hover on the image, a larger image appear.I know how to declare a variable, create a function, how to put these things into everyday projects is what the books never tells you.

It asks for this to be entered im just not sure where that code should go: useThumbGenerator: true also it asks for a cache folder to be writeable does that just go anywhere or? I came across this awesome image slider: Thumbnails Navigation Gallery with jQuery. The problem is ..you have to click on "best shots" to see the thumbnail navigation...
1) How do you show this thumbnail navigation straight away on loading the page? (ie "best shots" and other list items dont need to be there)
2) and get the thumbnails show near the bottom of the page?
3) and also get the next image to fade in automatically say after 5 seconds, without having to click on a thumbnail, although one can?

I've been working at this one for a few days now, and I keep getting the same puzzling results on what should probably have been a simple issue.
My page has images I've loaded at the top and set to {display: none}. The eventual goal is to create thumbnails that will maintain the original images' proportions, but fit within 150x150 px (this is for an artist's gallery page, so it's pretty important to keep the thumbnails looking like the originals). Obviously, the first thing I need to do is get the images' heights and widths. I've tried to do this by iterating through the document.images array and just getting the widths and heights, but for some reason I always get 0 x 0 for the first image. I've tried fixing this by inserting another image before it and then starting the loop at 1 instead of 0 (so it excludes that first image), but I still get the same value. I even tried setting the script to "defer" so it wouldn't run until the page had loaded. Same results. It also doesn't seem to matter whether I ask for document.images[x].width or document.images[x].naturalWidth. The same thing happens either way. Does anyone know what's going on? There's got to be something I'm missing.

I am trying to make a point and click javascript game. Basically what I want is to have one image displayed on screen at the start (room1.jpg). When you click on a door on that image, I have an onclick event to change the image to a new one that shows the door open (room1_a.jpg). What I want is that when you click the now open door, to display the next room in the game. The only solution I can think of is some sort of nested onclick event using several image maps, but I am fairly new to Javascript and I am not sure if that is possible. What it all comes down to is I want to display each incarnation of each room in the game in the same window without having to reload a new window for each room. I hope that makes sense, if not I can try and clarify. Below is the code I have so far. And as you can see all that does is display the open door when you click on the image. I have not done any of the image mapping yet.
