I am working on a module where I have 2 div tags which I wanted to swap on page refresh. i.e., when page loads it displays 1st div and upon refresh it loads 2nd div(and one more refresh wil load 1st and so on....). that works perfectly but the issue is I have an iframe inside both the divs which points to two different html files and its not swapping upon refresh. whatever iframe loads first remains there.
I thought its because of browser caching and the browser caches the iframe thats loaded 1st., so I tried adding meta tags on head like no-cache and expire=-1 but no luck.
I have a single web page that loads several iframes. One of the iframe pages has to be logged in first. I have that taken care of but once the page is loaded I need to change the source to a link with in the page. My guess is I need something to execute the code like a onload or something. This is what Ive been trying to get to work but like I said a newb! code...
I put my website in an iFrame to mask the URL...and everything works great, except that on any given page, when you click the browser reload button it goes back to the original iframe src.
I assume I need JS to get it to refresh the current content(page), but I cannot for the life of me find a simple answer. Does anyone know how to do this off hand? Is it even JS that I need?

perhapse I could load the page on the document load, and store those contents in a var.then have a code that will compair the remote page to the var every second or so.if the page compairs differently, update the var info and refresh the iframe.

I currently have several instances of a video player placed on the page by number of XML nodes. Each player has a source of one of 2 video codecs, dependent on browser as to which one will be read. The issue I am having is that on click of a thumb 1 video player and its corresponding sources is animated into view and plays. That is all fine, yet when selecting a different thumb the previous video continues to play unless I place the statement in green into my click function. This works until I add another node into my xml, and or place more video.pause without videos actually being in the xml (undefined, of coarse). I have been trying to find the syntax to replace the source with the corresponding thumb id (url, url2) and utilize only one player, but I have failed in my searches. Is it possible to swap the source upon clicking on the thumbs? $('video').player.pause(); is not recognized.
I have this code in a page that appears in my iframe if requested from parent:

So, the person clicks a link from the parent, it does a php process in a hidden iframe, which then tells the parent page to refresh. The only problem is that it puts Firefox in a constant loop of refreshing. IE and Chrome work fine. They refresh once and stop.
Though the src code opens the iframe like so: <iframe src="" style="display:none; height:1px;" name="hdplus" id="hdplus"></iframe> Firefox seems to refresh the page with the memory of the child page being in the iframe, constantly looping the child request to refresh the parent.
Why won't Firefox just accept that no page should load in the iframe, as stated in the code? I need to stop this loop, which means I need to get firefox to reset the iframe as it reloads the page.
I have a page A and inside it I have an iframe B. B points to another php file that shows a form (so basically in the iframe we see a form). When I submit the form, I call to another page C that verifies the fields of the form and if they are ok I redirect to page X, if not I redirect to page Y. The problem is that I see page X and Y inside the iframe, and I want to see them in the parent page.
Is it possible to read the address of a page from another domain fully loaded in an iframe, because when i call the page i ask to a cgi script which returns an encoded url with a unic hashmac key i must catch to create a temporary account with this key.

I'm trying to swap the background image of my index page logo div when a document is loaded into an Iframe on the index page. This is what I have so far in the external js of the page loaded to the Iframe. The function is called in the window onload of the same js file but it makes the logo image turn blank. I need some code that prevents the contents of an iframe from loading outside their source. Namely, the page has its main text content in an iframe so it can be scrolled through while keeping fixed size layouts. That iframe points to a file, content.html, that I want to keep the user from loading directly in the browser. I'd like it so, if they do go to content.html directly, it will just boot them back to the main index.

I'm trying to create a sort of preview page that both shows a rendered page, then shows the source code next to it.
[edit]: I'm thinking that using OnLoad JS event in the HTML body tag would allow this to work. The page loads, the OnLoad event calls a JS function that pulls the innerHTML from the IFRAME and inserts it into the textarea.

The objective is to call that php function. The javascript function is called. I don't know if the element is actually created. Unlike php javascript doesn't put anything in the source for us to verify. I don't have ajax. How can I make the javascript function call create an element that loads the php file and causes the code in that php file to execute.
I have a "contact us" <a> with the id 'contact' on the main page, which is supposed to change the source file of an iframe to the contact page. Except when I click on "contact us" nothing happens.

I have a page that has mulitple iframes each of which grabs a web page. he problem is I have no control over these web pages and some of them have a refresh if they are not the top browser, probably some code like this:

Well first off all I would appricate any help that you could give me because I've been looking all over the internet for the solution without any result. So off to my problem, I made this text-based online game and let's say the user does a crime, he did this crime 17:04:30 and has to wait till 17:06:30 before he can do a crime again (this is printed in the MySQL database). Getting the value from the database and changing it into the right format mm:ss is no problem. The problem comes to when its about refreshing. I've tried meta refresh and javascript location.refresh with good results, i sat the timer to 1 sec and it refreshed The problem comes to when it refresh the mouse cursor and the tab (in firefox and chrome) gets that look, like when u refresh a page normally u can see an hourglass and all that. Is there anyway to disable that? And i think it really slows the browser down after a while (because after like 30 min or more firefox used 600 mb of my RAM).
I think I've finally figured out a good use for iframes, but I need a little help as my javascript is not up to scratch.
What I need is that when the iframe refreshes it gets content from a textarea on the parent page. I can get the iframe to refresh, but am stuck on how to get it to display the content of the parents textarea.
