View 2 RepliesNeed info on retrieving a div from one html page and place it or its contents in another div? I'm trying to load tables from different pages into a div on this page. Tables are currently in divs with id-"table". The page I want to load them into also has a table in a div with id="table". I want to replace one table with other tables without leaving the page. That is, I am trying to prevent linking back and forth.
I've tried the following with no results;
xmlHttp.onreadystatechange=function() {
if(xmlHttp.readyState==4) {
divTable = document.getElementById("table").innerHTML=xmlHttp.responseText;
}}
xmlHttp.open("GET","../Menu/level9/menutable24.html",true);
xmlHttp.send(null);
I have a URL (var spUrl) and I am trying to get the <title> of the page at that location. I am using $.ajax() to pull the page and process the <title> tag from the response $(data). For some reason, Opera is able pull the title from the <title> tag, but no other browsers are able to do so. When I modify the code to pull the <h2> tag instead of the <title> tag, it works in all browsers.
Here is an abbreviated version of the code:
$.ajax({
url: spUrl,
async: true,
success: function(data) {
var spUrlTitle = $(data).find('title').eq(0).text();[CODE]...
I have this code that load HTML tags (no including <html> or <body>)
into a DIV dinamically...
after correctly retrieving the HTML, I assign it to my DIV Container
document.getElementById(containerid).innerHTML=pag e_request.responseText
now from main page....I need to get a reference to an Object (a
textbox) contained in the dinamically loaded HTML
Once in my main document this, doesn't works:
document.getElementById(containerid)
The objects that I loaded dinamically, are part of the Main Document or
not? How can I access this objects from my main page?

This question may appear opposite of most, but I'm learning JS using a book and I can't understand why/how this particular code works. I'm working on simply retrieving and passing information to and from html forms. This is a very simple script that will change what is selected in the drop down box depending on a button push.
Here is the script:
Code:
function flip(pizzatype) {
if (pizzatype.value == "Veggie Special") {
document.forms["pizzaform"].topping.value = "veggies";
} else if (pizzatype.value == "Meat Special") {
document.forms["pizzaform"].topping.value = "meat";
} else if (pizzatype.value == "Hawaiian") {
document.forms["pizzaform"].topping.value = "hampineapple";
}}
And here is the form's html:
Code:
<form id="pizzaform" action="#" onsubmit="return false;">
<p>
<input type="button" name="veggiespecial" onclick="flip(veggiespecial)"
value="Veggie Special"/>
<input type="button" onclick="flip(meatspecial)" name="meatspecial"
value="Meat Special" />
<input type="button" onclick="flip(hawaiian)" name="hawaiian"
value="Hawaiian" />
</p>
<p>Main Topping: <select name="topping">
<option value="cheese" selected="selected">Cheese</option>
<option value="veggies">Veggies</option>
<option value="meat">Meat</option>
<option value="hampineapple">Ham & Pineapples</option>
</select></p>
</form>
The way I see it is the button onclick will call the flip function and pass it a var, for example "veggiespecial". I understand the code that will perform the actual change on the drop down menu. What I don't understand is the if statement.
if(pizzatype.value == "veggiespecial")...
Shouldn't it be just (pizzatype == "veggiespecial")?
Why does it have to be pizzatype.value? Where the heck does the .value come from???
I'm trying to accomplish something unique that I am not finding any examples for in web searches.I have a webpage with arrow pictures that I will set up with a clickable link that will send http arguments to a php script.I need to grab the selected value in one of the drop down menus on that same page and send that as one of the html arguments when clicking on one of the arrow buttons.
Right now those drop down lists are just html form controls, would this all work together better if they were instead javascript drop down menus? I really want to build this page the best way for it to be built and I'm not afraid to make changes if there is a better way than what I'm using now.
I have designed a form as below
<form action="https://checkout.google.com/api/checkout/v2/checkoutForm/Merchant/XXXXXXXXXXXX" id="BB_BuyButtonForm" method="post" name="BB_BuyButtonForm" target="_top" >
<input name="item_name_1" type="hidden" value="Test Product"/>
<input name="item_description_1" type="hidden" value="Test Product of my cart"/>
[Code].....
On hitting the button one new window is getting opened with response URL from 3rd party(in this case Google Checkout). But for me i need to open this in a inline-popup (lightBox, ColorBox etc...) rather than new window. In the form definition, i have replaced mymerchant_idwith 'XXXXXXXXXX' for privacy purpose
I have a probelem - how to save information as a text or js file and retrieve it later using only html or javascript .

I would like to know how I can retrieve html data with jQuery. With my current project I have all pages in 1 html file (jQuery mobile). Every page has his own ID. Page 1 has id="question_1", and the next one is id="question_2".

I am having question on how to retrieve data from web page.
There are 'Yes' , 'No' checkbox for different questions on the web page. There are around 50 such questions.
I have to retreive the values submitted by the user by clicking on either Yes or No checkboxes. Then save this data on the server. I have to use Javascript for this.
Since I am new to Javascript I am not getting idea how to implement it.
How do I use Javasript to get the <TITLE> element of a web page?
If anyone can supply a cross browser way (IE 5.5+, Firefox 1+), it is
most appreciated.
How can I retrieve the required height of a page to fit in my current
browser window's width such that I don't need the vertical scrollbar to
see the full contents of the page? In other words, I need the
document's height.
Furthermore, I need to figure out how to do this in IE6 w/o switching
to strict mode (so, the default IE6 mode = quirks).
I am getting problem while getting one form hidden value to another form.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to display the title of my pages (the title which appears on the top of your browser window) in the actual page aswell. How do i do this, i need javascript or some kidn fo script to look at the title and then write it to the page.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI found this code in another thread... basically, I need to be able to display a certain image based on the page's title... for instance if the title is: Lotus 7, I need image lotus.jpg to display in an element on the page, however, if the title is Bodhi 9, I need image bodhi.jpg to display in the same element
var imgs = new Array();

One my website its one index page, putting in content depending on the link (ie ?page=xxxxx) and from that it generats the page name, (Page name - MySite). I also have an AJAX search form working on keyup (kinda like google autosearch). I want it so when i start typing there it changes the title to Search - MySite. Then when its empty revert to what ever it was before. I already have the AJAX coding for the search bar.
Also i need to check if its on the homepage or not, and if not load the homepage (currently done by php include), does javascript have an equivelant of php's include?
I have been trying to find a simple way to capture the page title for a form that will be used throughout my site.Basically, creating a javascript function to allow a user to email a page to a colleague. Of course I only want to have one form, so I wanted to capture the referrering page information.I have had no trouble capturing the referring URL using javascript, associating it with a form field and passing it through PHP validation and emailing it.I am having trouble doing the same for the title. I have tried to capture these with an onLoad event, but that didn't work (for title only - works for others).
Here's the js which is referenced on the html pages (link to external file):
// JavaScript Document
function start() {
var ref = document.getElementById('httpref');
[code]....
I want to get the current page title and url!
as with document.title we can get the current page title,
<body onLoad="MM_goToURL('parent','script.php?title=document.title');return document.MM_returnValue">
this is the function I've used for that above trick
function MM_goToURL() { //v3.0
var i, args=MM_goToURL.arguments; document.MM_returnValue = false;
for (i=0; i<(args.length-1); i+=2) eval(args[i]+".location='"+args[i+1]+"'");
}
I tried that, but it won't work.
Is there a way to dynamically generate a certain image via js based on the title of the webpage? like for instance....
If not is there any other way to dynamically generate specific images on specific pages via .js?
