JQuery :: Fire Tooltip On Table Row Hover?
Feb 1, 2011I want the Tooltip (the one I'm using is the jQuery Tools tooltip) to fire each time the mouse goes over the entire table row. At present it only fires when the mouse goes over the final <td>. Here is the table markup:

The only slight complication is that I currently have some jQuery adding a zebra effect to the table rows. So if I could keep the Zebra striping along with the Tooltip activation that would be good.
Here is the jQuery for the Zebra stripping:

I've tried simply adding the class
="dImage" to the <td> tag e.g. <td class="dImage"> but although the tooltip kind of fires it doesn't include the image, it loads the next bit of text.

Changing Hover Color For Table Rows In IE
Aug 2, 2005Since IE does not support hover for elements other then link I would like to use an event listener via attatchEvent to change the style of the row when the mouse is over and then again when it is out.

Apr 14, 2011I am trying to make different images hover over a table of sliced images when you mouse over a particular image. ex. mouse over image 1 = have image 1.1 hover over entire table of images in spot A; mouse over image 2 = have image 2.2 hover over entire table of images in spot B....ect. what i have so far only allows me to mouse over image 1 and have image 1.1 hover over entire table in spot A. Any time i try to move forward with more div's on other images it just jacks everything up.

The code to clear the text boxes and selection boxes work great. The code to clear the text from the table cells that do not have a form element do not work at all. The .Client and .Project cells that I want to clear are populated by an ajax call and the .total cell is populated by a function that sums the values the text boxes.

Feb 3, 2011I have a site with 2 side by side tables with matching data. The left table is a drag-n-drop implementation so you can reorder the values in the database just by dragging and dropping. It works wonderfully. I want the right table to reflect the changes instantaneously. I got the right table to reload itself with the following jquery line:

I stuck that line in the "Update" function of my "Sortable" funtion. And the line that I am using to initially stripe the right table is:

Now matter where I stick that line, I cannot get the table re-striped after it reloads.

Flexible Lock Table Head/Scroll Table CSS?
Jul 2, 2008I've come up with a way (at least in IE7 and Firefox 2 and 3) to create a table that lets you scroll the body contents while the table header row remains fixed in place.
It's mostly a CSS solution, but it does use the IE CSS expression operator and uses some DOM properties to assign some IE heights and widths. The other CSS solutions I've seen to this problem all tend to be pretty inflexible and hard to implement in the real world for tables of varying sizes. They require that you to hard code your table widths and heights in multiple locations in the CSS and involve the use of more than just one class name assignment.
I wanted a solution that could handle tables of different sizes on the same page. Something that allowed you to assign just one class and allowed the you to specify the height in the actual table that you wanted to lock the headings for.
I tried to keep the HTML table mark-up as clean as possible. All you need do is to simply assign a single CSS class name to a DIV that surrounds the table then assign a height you want the table to be as an embedded style. That's it.

I also have JavaScript that will add a row to the same table. I've found that if I add a bunch of rows, when I delete one, there is a small amount of whitespace added between the permanent row and the others. It seems like while the row is removed, some remnants of it remain. Is there a way to get rid of it completely?
Function On Table Row But Not On Image Inside Table Row?
Sep 1, 2010My issue is that I have a javascript function applied on page load via an addLoadEvent function call in the head to every row (dynamic number of records retrieved) on a table. On every row of the table I also have an element (image or button) that performs a different function that is assigned on the element itself.Unfortunately, when I click the element it also performs the function that was applied to the row in the page load. Is there any way to not call this function on element click?

Evening Out Tables - Table On The Right Is Not Even With The Table On The Left
Aug 31, 2011As you can see, the table on the right is not even with the table on the left. This code has worked in the past,

But that only works for a static page. The problem is now, both tables, the one on the left, and the one on the right, are dynamic. Either could have different heights depending on what page you are visiting. Different pages also have more than one table, and the only way I could see this working is with a million if statements or each page, defining each table being used. Is there anyway to get these two tables evened out, no matter the content using JavaScript?
