I am quite new to page layout and I have an issue with a Fireworks created menubar and tables. First, everything works in every browser except IE. The menu drop down goes behind the table data. Also, the tooltip display in IE only shows partial image. [URL]

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have created a pop up menu in fireworks 4, imported it into dreamweaver. The links work forward, but if you are on page 1 (from the pop up menu) and try to click on page 2 of the menu, you get a message stating bad link.
I am in desparate need of some help. I have found the javascript code in the 'head ' of the document and those links are correct.
I'm not having this issue with Mozilla Firefox, but it seems that the results of the code below are being cached in EI 8. When the browser makes another asynchronous call to the server with different results from the database, those results are not being displaying on the wepage. How do I fix this problem. As I mentioned above the code works fine in Mozilla Firefox. The page displays data in EI 8 with no errors five seconds after the page has loaded, but as the information in the database changes, I'm not seeing those changes reflected on the page in 5 second intervals. I'm assuming this is a caching issue, if so how do I fix it.

I have a series of web pages that enable communication with a MySQL database. The pages all work fine and mostly everything is just the way I want it.As many people do, I put JavaScript on the client side pages to check input before sending to the server. The scripts check for blank fields, non-numbers where there should be numbers, etc. I know from personal experience that the scripts work in Safari, Firefox, SeaMonkey, and others. The scripts do NOT work in IE! No matter what is entered in the boxes, IE says they are not numbers!In order to solve this problem, I wrote a much smaller script and purposely did not use the isNaN() function. I thought this would fix the problem but it did not. To see what I've done and try it in IE (any version) or any other browser,ej2ffej2.nfshost.com/checkNumbers/test.htmlIf someone can examine my JavaScript and tell me why this happens the way it does, that would be terrific. View 14 Replies View RelatedIn the past few days I've been trying to make this script work but why the following script works on IE but not on other browsers? It seems that IE waits for the <img> tags to load in the #slideshow and then starts the slideshow. The other browsers seem to load the slideshow while the XML parser is trying to load img tags. It only shows the first image and doesn't do anything else. What could cause this? I tried delay(), load(), ready().

I'm using a fork of osC for an ecommerce system. It has an integrated smarty template. In the admin section, when adding products there's a section with three tabs: Main Image, Extra Images, and Media
This section acts like AJAX, but I'm not sure if it is. The media pulls actions from two .js files: prototype.js and media.js So, I'm guessing it's Prototype? The problem is adding media works fine in firefox, but only shows a "Please Wait..." when used in IE, Google Chrome, and Safari The odd thing is when it's loading in Firefox, it says "Initializing.." (Instead of Please Wait..) then loads the media functions allowing me to add sound to my products. If it's php I can do fine, but I don't know much about JS.
The reason that it works well in firefox, makes me suspect the code is right, but missing something.

I was trying to "pin" a menubar to the top of a site. It should allways stay on its absolute position. Especially when the user scrolls the page...
I did like this:

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using a nice little script which replaces the usual file upload input with whatever image you want and then with JS makes sure that an invisible 'browse' button is underneath the mouse pointer whenever the mouse is moved over the image you want to use.
It works on every browser ie7 ie8 ie9 FF safari chrome but not on opera. On Opera the regular file input appears.
I've had a good hoke round the 'net and I know there's loads of scripts which do similar things. But either they are too complicated for me to figure out how to use them eg uploadify (bit of a newbie) or they do similar things but just not as well - like making the custom image the same size as the file input would be (there's issues with that too).

I'm just restating my "site abandonment" post but with a clearer title as I realized it probably only made sense to me and me alone.
I have window that pops up with our commerce system. I have it set to pop up a window via JavaScript if the visitor quits early in the process (abandons the commerce system before completing all of the steps. The new popup is just a customer survey ("why are you leaving, is there something else we can help you with" etc. etc.).
Here's the problem, it works fine in IE, but in Firefox, anytime the page in the original commerce window is changed, refreshed or advanced to a new page, the survey popup window is called rather than just on window close.
Again, here's the two JavaScript routines that handle clicks on the graphical close button and on the window 'X' close button. Code:

I have a table that holds a form. At the bottom of the table it has a link that says ... "Add another entry" When clicked it should add another table below that one for the user to fill out. This is designed for a Resume Builder where the user will be able to input multiple jobs. I have the script "kinda" working but the only problem is that I have to try and cram the entire table code into ONE line. If it expands multiple lines it doesn't work. I've created an XML-RPC server, and would like to somehow bind the XML
server responses to a table for users to view. Here's the catch, that data
changes frequently (every few seconds), so I'm using setInterval to
periodically get updated XML content from the server.
Currently, the setInterval function requests the entire dataset, then
rewrites the entire table. I'm concerned that it's a waste of bandwidth,
and disrupts the user scrolling through the data whenever it rewrites.
Ideally, I'll have the XML-RPC server generate only data changed since the
last request, then somehow update the table with the changes.
I have my own library for web-design building - active forms, lists. I
am going to build tabbing component. The complexity in this process
is that all web forms uniformed and are built as TABLEs, where
each field is TR. Tabs have to show/hide some of table rows.
I don't know how TR's properties must be changed in order to hide them
all.
I tried make HTML code like

And tried to change visibility of a DIV, but this doesn't work.
