Firefox Friendly Code To Dynamically Add Items To Combo Box?
Oct 13, 2010
Here is my code that works flawlessly in IE but I can't get it to work in firefox. what firefox doesn't like about this code?
<SCRIPT language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
//POPULATE COMBO BOX PER RADIO BUTTON CHECKED
function UpdateCombo()
{
[code]...
Now, I obviously left unrelated code out here; but that code is the basic of what Im working with, but the combo box is just empty in firefox. Works fine in IE; so I'm guessing it doesn't like something with the code:
When the user clicks on the password form field, the background image is suppossed to be replaced with a white background color. All I get is a javascript error, and I copied straight out of the newsletter.
I have 2 combo boxes where you can move the items in combo box 1 to combo box 2. I want to validate that combo box 2 actually has something moved to it. How can I count the items in combo box 2. Combo box 2 will initially have no items in the box on page load. It is up to the user to move the items to combo box 2 and I want to make sure at least 1 item was moved.
What I have got is a form that a user has to fill out and submit (when validated all variables are stored in a session and emailed after multiple forms are completed), currently I have radio buttons, text boxes and a combo box/ drop down list (for location). All parts are working fine and validating fine. My problem is to do with the combo box//ddl. I have successfully validated the ddl so the user must select a location onsubmit and it is added to session and passed fine.At the moment the ddl only has cities or towns in it however as I would like to include different states and possibly different countries I need a code that validates the state first and then only gives the cities/towns that are in that state (otherwise my ddl would be to large). I can do this with links however I can't seem to do it in a form.
First I have a combo box populated from mysql db. Then onChange of the first combo box then I would like to populate my second combo box. I am trying out the jquery method as below. The first combo box id is $clientID. The problem I dont get the alert method shown that means is not working.
I want to be able to access whatever the user types into my testCreation.html in a session created in testCheck.php. I then want that session to be accessed by testView.php. code...
I have some javascript code that enables me to add optional extras via drop down boxes to a total (via an input form text box). Problem is I can add upto 9 different drop down boxes with different amounts that add up in the total box but when I add a tenth it wont add the tenth one up, can anyone helo me I looked through the code and cant suss it out. code...
I'm trying to dynamically create and remove items from a list, it works just fine. Sort of, I can remove items, and create items, but once an item has been created, I cannot remove it again, but I can remove the items present when the page loads.
Here is my code <div class="list"> <div class="item"> <input type="text" value="" /> <a href="" class="removeitem">Remove this item</a> </div><div class="item"> <input type="text" value="" /> <a href="" class="removeitem">Remove this item</a> </div><a href="" class="additem">Add item to list</a> </div><script type="text/javascript"> // Add item to list $('.additem').click(function(){ var template = $($(this).prev().get(0)).clone(); template.insertBefore($(this)); return false; }); // Remove item from list $('.removeitem').click(function(){ $(this).prev().parent().remove(); return false; }); </script> I can remove the 2 original items, but when I create new ones, they cannot be removed.
I am using the double combo script (see below) on my site so people can selet reports that open in a new window with no toolbars.
To date the script has been working flawlessly but today I've noticed the "Go" button has 'gone' when viewed in Netscape or Firefox.
I've gone over the script many times trying to work out what's wrong but can't see anything. Can someone please have a look at the script (with a fresh perspective) and tell me what's wrong :confused: :confused: :confused: ?
Also is it possible to add a blank line between "2006 Deferred Matches" and "2005 Tournament Standings" ? Code:
I am trying to create an order with the ability to dynamically self total the sum of the selected items but also be able to add a 25% labor fee having it be at least $90.So if someone buys $300 worth of items the labor charge would be $75 but it would be automatically bumped to $90.heres the existing code:
* Calculates the payment total with quantites * @param {Object} prices */[code].....
I am developing an asp page (compliants.asp) using Javascript. I am not able to solve a problem i.e., I ve 2 dropdown lists. Based on the 1st dropdown list's data (data retrieved from database) , second dropdownlist has to be populated (retrieving data from database). Can anyone help me in sorting this issue. Im posting my code below...
I am trying to design menu and also been successful at some extent. Root menu items doesn't create any problem but when I used following code to create drop down submenu items i got the error:Invalid argument
The error causing line is bold
While this javascript code doesn't work in FF3.x.x but in IE.
I am using javascript to populate a number of text boxes based on the data item selected in the 1st combo box.
I am now working on making the selection of that combo box populate another combo box with items from another table. I can hard the sql code for the 2nd combo box so that when I select an option it populates more text boxes, but want the contents of the 2nd combo box to dynamically change depending on the selection of the 1st box. I would like this to do it without refreshing the page after each 1st combo box selection.
The 2nd box does not populate with the below code as I guess the variable isn't populated, I can put '1' in and it selects products with that prodid, but as explained above i'd like it to read the prodid from the 1st combo box.
Code: <?php require "session_logincheck.php"; function selectProductAndPopulate() {
I have a print button in PHP page which using javascript window.print() to print web page.
However , when user click "print" , the print preview display that the page cut-off and alignment is out.
Read on regarding the matter , and found that is not the issue of PHP . Some users recommend to me to use CSS and HTML to create printer friendly page. However my page is extension is in php , can i use CSS and HTML to create printer friendly page?
many framed sites have an ancient script in all their pages: if(top==self) top.location=theframeset
Some friendlier ones do this: if(top==self) document.write( '<a href=frameset>This page is ' + 'supposed to be frames</a>.' )
These scripts fail when the page is loaded within somebody's else's frameset.
Then top is not self but not a very cooperative top either. And with ever growing security issues browsers have become quite paranoid. Even testing for top's origin results in an error:
alert(top) // gives me [object] var s='' for (var i in top) s+=i+' '+top[i]+' ' alert(s); var obj; try{ obj=top.location; } catch(e) { obj='' } // give me [access denied] (of course)
I 'd rather drop the frames altogether, but the site has been like this for years and the client insists. There are frames. So how would I detect when it is appropriate to write:
<a href=>View this page in its <b>own</b> frames.</a> ?
Question b: in the frameset, a little script looks into self.location.search for an url with which to fill the main frame. Is there a way to avoid document.write and onload?
I have an html based website that needs urls converted from [URL] to [URL] the website has no mysql database. the urls are written through javascript. download from below the js + html files Code: [URL] urls writing rules can be found on common.js and set_form_menu.js.gz files
I want to give the user the abillity to add extra fields as needed. I've got it working in IE (surprsingly this works in IE but not in Firefox), however, basically I have an input field for a paragraph. If the user decides they want two paragraps then they can click an image and a new textarea field is show that allows them to add another paragraph. The fields are named as an array for example name="para[0]" the next one would then be name="para[1]". Firefox creates the field and shows it to the user however when you submit the form the new field does not come through. My array of paragraphs consists only of the original number I started with. Any added by the javascript are lost. Again IE this works fine, Firefox it works till you submit the form. Any ideas?
I am developing a site for a client that requires the printer friendly verison of the site to appear in a separate pop-up window. I am having trouble figuring out the scripting needed to have the current page open in a separate window with a different style sheet applied to it.
I've added the most basic implementation of JQuery tabs. It's working fine so long as there's not a url-friendly query string.In other words, if I load index.php, it will work fine. Even index.php/anystring doesn't have any problems. However, if I try to load something such index.php/anystring1/anystring2, none of the CSS styles for the tabs appear to be applied to the tabs list making all the tabs' contents appear on the same page.how I can work around this to ensure I can preserve the current format of query string without breaking the tabs? Using the old fashioned way doesn't appear to result in any problems, but I'm trying to avoid having to revert to that format.
So, I have a form that, when the user clicks on a link, uses J/S to generate extra form fields for extra information. I can retrieve the value of the dynamically generated fields using $_POST in I.E., but it doesn't work in Firefox (no value is returned). Retrieving values for the static fields is fine in both I.E. and Firefox.
Here's the code - is there a function I'm using that could be replaced with something more friendly to Firefox?:
<script type='text/javascript'> var i = 1; function addArea() { var newArea = addElement();
