have developed a free generic form validation script that can validate
any form with very little JavaScript required in form!

I am looking to use a spell checker in my multi-field forms and am trying to
find something open source and easy to install and use.
It could be either AJAX, DHTML or Javascript.
Is there a way to change a javascript's output on a website without directly manipulating the source code? Just by entering some info in a form, then hitting submit. Then it automatically changes the content of a website.
What I want to happen is to change some text (specifically a news ticker) on my javascript, located in between the head tags, just by inputting new information on a form which automatically replaces the old one.
I'm trying to protect a form from being submitted by the website it resides on. I'm using the following code, but this just stops the form submitting if '@email.com' is in the form field. How can I say 'if this field contains @email.com then do not submit'?
Whilst we are at it, I also need to do the same with php if anyone also knows this?

I'm using Firefox with the Firebug add-on and whenever I load my test page with the contact form, I receive this error message in Firebug:

I've got this to work before on other sites, but for some reason it's not working on this site and I just don't know why and I don't understand what the error is telling me.
My JavaScript Form Validation doesn't work at all in Netscape, but it works fine in IE.
I made some of the suggested changes which enabled it to work in IE. I couldn't make all the changes because then it didn't work in IE.
How can I enable this javascipt form validation to work in Netscape? When I use netscape, none of the alert boxes appear. It submits the form without validating anything.
In IE, I get all the alert boxes and everything is validated.
I have a web form with several fields. If I copy & paste from a RTF document into a field, the javascript validation and field length are bypassed and cause the form to fail.

Each button should validate specific controls of the form and submit it. I tried setting "onsubmit: false" and checking for "$('#myForm').valid ()" on click of these buttons., but that validates all controls of the form.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using the Validation plugin for JQuery and was wondering if there was a function to submit the form without causing it to validate the form. I have a table with a list of radio-buttons and above that is a drop down list of states. The drop down list of states is used to filter the table rows and when the selected item changes it posts-back to the server (via $("#frm").submit()). I don't want this to cause any validation to occur. Is there another function I can call besides submit(), or some other method?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have my website www.gebcn.com. If you view source you will see all that I have done, but more importantly my problem. I have the JS code at the top there and I am unable to W3C validate my HTML because of the JS. I am using XHTML strict and would like to stay using it.
The JS I have at the top is my form validation code. I am able to do any validating that I need with this "snippet" of code, I have shrank it from my library version just to use for this newsletter. Until now W3C validating was not important now for some reason it is and I am faced with this problem.
I am not a Javascript guy more of a HTML/CSS guy and I can manipulate JS to suit my needs.
<problem> I have tried to make this "snippet" of JS code an external file but receive multiple errors with the JS calling for the FORM NAME as it is not on the same page. The form NAME=NEWSLETTER is another problem, as W3C says I am unable to use attribute "NAME" in this location. <problem> I would like to keep the JS close to how it is now as I have a library to use this JS over and over again.

....and I don't get it! What does the "+x+"world" do? If I alert(x) the only thing that comes out is "hello". I also wondered why it doesn't error without the ";" at the end of the line.
This is a novice question, but I'm stumped. I have a variable with a bunch

I know nothing of js yet, I'm still studying CSS & PHP. So I'm just looking for a ready made script for vertical scrolling. I found one that does exactly that, but all the css styling is done in the javascipt, so I was completely lost. I want to be able to just enter the html (into the js array if neccessary, I can do that much lol) and have it scroll upwards, simple as that. The nearest thing I could find to what I want is this Creating a vertical content scroller using DHTML I can style my div & images myself, then all I need to do is enter the html and away it goes, but it functions just like the marquee tag in that it waits for the entire content to clear before it starts scrolling again.

I was wondering if there was an easy way to configure a message box to resemble that of a login form.It would preferably have two text fields for username/password and OK and Cancel buttons as well.I currently have a normal login form on my website designed using PHP but it does not figure into what we need to do now. I'm not sure about going about this and I have tried looking for quite sometime for an example of this but cannot find one.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm kind of new to js, I wanted to write some non english chars inside an array, and it only seems to work if I write unicode notation, e.g. "u1234" per char. I was wondering if there is some easier way to do this, maybe somehow specify to the browser that the js file is utf8-encoded or something similar, but I'm not sure how to do that.

I attempted to modify the code so that numeric navigation AND arrow navigation (next, previous) could toggle slides BUT I can't see the number navigation in IE6. Every other browser I have tested (mac Safari, Firefox, and Google Chrome as well as IE7,8) work perfectly. I need to make a website that will be used as a traffic light system. So i will have a page with loads of divs starting red, that will change to green when clicked once, and back to red if clicked again, so on, so on. These changes will need to be viewable live on another computer, so changes need to save and will also need to automatically refresh without distrubing the rest of the page.

From what i can see the fields match, it all links up correctly but still it will allow blank forms to be sent.
I'm having trouble changing the font color of my labels ONLY when I stop the form from submitting due to blank fields. I'm not sure whether if just changing my CSS will achieve what I want, or am I going to have to add somethig to my if else statement, or both? I would think I would need to change CSS to :

but a little confused on what else.

I have a working contact form with 3 of the fields requiring validation and they work well. I have added extra fields to the form (StatusClass, Project, CameFrom). These 3 fields return fine but I need to validated them. My problem is that the new fields don't show in the behaviours/validate panel even though they are within the form tag.
