Jun 29, 2010how to populate a dropdown based on Another dropdown selection. This all should be a dynamic. Eg: I have two text boxes one is TechID and other is JOB ID. When I start typing Tech ID it suggests me the list of IDs which start with the input string i have put in Tech textbox. When i select the Tech ID the jobs associated to that Tech ID should be displayed in JOB ID text box as a dropdown list.
Populating All Dropdown Boxes
May 6, 2010I am getting some problems with populating my drop down boxes. I create the drop down through dom object.when I call this function onClick event in a button its work fine and populate the records from database so it does't matter how many times you click the button its work fine and populate all rows. The problem start when I call this function in a loop like in php file its populate only last row. but I want to populate all rows.

Create Reverse Dropdown Boxes?
May 12, 2009I would like to create reverse dropdown boxes (that is, dropdown boxes that "drop" the other way around--perhaps "drop-up" boxes could be the closest term I could associate with such elements) for the menu of my personal site; I've seen such menus before, however at the same time I have also neglected to take note of what JavaScripts were used.

Nov 19, 2007I'm absolutely terrible at coding javascript, it makes no since to me, I'm "ok" at html but I just can't get Java, but anyways. I'm working on an averaging code for a forum I apart of that has to take the selected number from 5 drop down boxes adding them together, dividing by 5 and displaying the result.
the code I have is barely half completed, but it's not to long just the same thing over and over with the drop down boxes, so I was hoping someone could help me with this. Or at least guide me in the right direction. Code:

AJAX :: Populate The Options Of 5 Dropdown Boxes?
Jan 16, 2011I have a product select page that is really slow to use because 6 dropdowns must be populated and the page reloads after selecting each box, to get the options for the next box.
I want to speed it up as follows:
1) User selects one of 50 products from a dropdown list.
2) Page reloads, and all the possible options for the remaining 5 dropdown boxes are now populated (ie. list options all stored client side)
3) User can freely input the remaining 5 dropdowns without the page reloading.
Validate Valid Date Form With Dropdown Boxes?
Jan 20, 2010I'm working on a website where users can add films to a film directory through a form. One of the fields that can be filled in is a "Release date" field, where a correct release date can be filled in. The form uses dropdown boxes for selecting the date; this is much less confusing in terms of how to format the date than if one would just use a text input field. Here's a screen shot:[URL]..
I've been looking for a Javascript script that does three things:
1) Validate the entered date (i.e. no "31st of February" dates).
2) Check whether the date entered doesn't exceed today's date (so no release date in the future is allowed). This could be combined with PHP to find the today date.
3) If the "I don't know the release date" box is checked, simply skip the whole validation process (no need to validate something that won't be used).
I've been looking for Javascript code that does this, and I found a couple of scripts (like this one) [URL].. /date_validation.asp), but they all make use of text input fields where the user has to input it in a certain format (mm/dd/yyyy et cetera). This is not what I'm looking for, but having zero knowledge of Javascript I am completely unable to write my own code or adapt this code to what I want.
I already figured out the PHP that does all of the above, but I would also very much like to have some code that checks the date before the data is processed so that users who have made a mistake don't have to fill in the whole form a second time.
IE9 Breaks Dynamic Select Boxes?
Jun 20, 2011I have the below JS code to change up a select box based on what is selected in another select box. IE9 broke this somehow. It still works in other browsers as well as IE8 and IE7.
When you select something in select box A, it properly populates select box B. However when you go back and change select box A again the script stops working completely.

Customizing Dynamic Select Boxes
Dec 10, 2009I'm trying to customize a script I found. It's about two select boxes, one for continent selection and one for country selection. When user selects a continent from the first select box, the second select box is filled with the list of the proper countries that belong to this continent.You can see that code of the script here:URl...In my page, the continent select box is loaded with a continent-value already selected (the selection depends on a database value) and I want to have the second countries select box, also loaded with the proper countries.I cannot make this happen, unless I change the continent's selection and trigger the onchange event. Can I someway keep the onchange event and also add the ability to have a continent and it's list of countries already loaded?

Validation - Disallow Past Dates With Dropdown Boxes For MM DD And YYYY

I don't want them to be able to choose a date in the past however. Send Dynamic Text Boxes Values?
Apr 28, 2009i am inserting values using AJAX.for single record its working fine. but i want to use five text boxes for the same function and for each text box i am calling same function.but now value are not passing properly..whetever passing first time only that value is going into database twice or how many times i have entered the values .so i want my function should work dynamically.with each add button should take value for that text box only.

Javascript Question On Dynamic Select Boxes
Jan 28, 2002Question: How hard is the following to do in javascript and does anyone have a good example of this in use (aka how do you do it? )
4 drop down boxes all on one page. I have 4 items in the list of the first drop down box.
Red
Blue
Green
Orange
When I select one, I want the choice to be taken out of the list for the second drop down box. So if I select Blue in Drop Down #1, Drop Down #2 now has the option of
Red
Green
Orange
If I select Red from the list the Drop Down #3 now has
Green
Orange
Then if i select Orange, the last drop down has only one value and that is Green.
Adding Values To Dynamic Text Boxes
Apr 23, 2011I'm a complete beginner to JS and have been playing around with a few test projects but I am stuck with one particular part.It simply creates a new text box if you press the Add Text Box button, and removes the text box if you press the Remove Text Box button.What I want to do now is add a usable value to each text box (e.g. the first text box will have the value "tb1", the second "tb2" and so on - so that I can post the data to use it further on.

3 Level Dynamic MySQL Dropdown
Apr 12, 2010I'm trying to make 3 drop downs (based off of mysql tables), to narrow down the selection. Source, School, and Program. So when when they select SOURCE(source), all the SCHOOLs in drop2 will be based on the SOURCE selected in the previous dropdown, and whatever school(cid) is selected, the program will be based off that school(cid) and display all the programs for that school. I've google'd high and low for something, and no avail. Here is what I have, I am just trying to make 3 drop downs narrow in, without pressing submit (I am new to ajax and javascript etc) The issue may be in that java part, I've look in the php and mysql, but nothing.

Add Dynamic Dropdown Autopolulated Menu?
Dec 9, 2010I'm relatively new to javascript, so please forgive me if my questions seem obvious.
I want to have a drop down menu added to each new line in a dynamic table, each time the 'add instruments' button is clicked. I also need that ddmenu to autopopulate with the same parameters as the first one (which you can see).
