I have a dropdown menu that has all 7 continents. I want the countries within that region to show up with checkboxes beneath it so the user can select multiple countries and submit it.I have a working example of a drop down that shows another dropdown, but I want it to show checkboxes instead.
I want a dropdown menu to become 'visible' when a checkbox has been checked,... and here's the key, i want it to become visible imidiately, not when a form has been submitted... Code:
Basically, I have written an application that runs a report based on a certain amount of parameters, one of which being date. So, the date selection is a <select></select> dropdown menu and it has the usual in it, today, yesterday, this week, last week etc. The problem is I need it to have a 'Custom' selection to run reports for custom dates. When 'Custom' is selected in the dropdown menu, two text boxes appear underneath with YYYY-MM-DD watermarked in them. I have assembled enough code from around the web to get this to work and it works fine, the problem I have is that when the user clicks off the 'Custom' option and on to a different one, I need the textboxes to disappear again.
Here is the code I am using: <script type="text/javascript"> function showhide(divid){ thediv = document.getElementById(divid); if(thediv.style.display== 'none' ){ thediv.style.display='block' }else{ thediv.style.display='none' }} .....
I'm pretty bad with Javascript, but I need to hide or show a snippet of text (could be inside a div without problems) based on the selection of a dropdown menu (<select>). If they choose anything with the word "Series" on it, I need to show the snippet. If they choose anything without "Series" on it, then the snippet needs to disappear. I should mention the snippet is part of a form, just a checkbox but that shouldn't be a problem I don't think.
I'm using a bit of Javascript to display content based on the dropdown selection:http://jsfiddle.net/mcgarriers/wjLXk/However, I would like it when the user selects "show two" that it shows the 2 div elements rather than specifically div2.And for "show three" it would show all 3 divs.
I have a project where I need a selection of one dropdown menu may affect the select of multiple other dropdown menus on the same page.First, a table is generated, and within each row, it contains a dropdown menu. Assume: Rows A, B, C, etc..., and Dropdown selection: 1, 2, & 3If dropdown in Row A selects 2, then I want the selection of dropdowns in rows B & C to dynamically change to 2.And if in Row C user selects 3, then the selection in dropdowns in rows A & B should dynamically change to 3.
I'm struggling with a multiple select box I have that currently has an onchange that fires every time you make a selection, which then updates other form elements on the page. Works great. But it doesn't really give you time to select multiple items in the dropdown, just one select at a time. how to capture multiple selects with an onchange or I need to switch to a dropdown/list box that contains checkboxes -- but I haven't found a good php/javascript/ajax/jquery type of option. here is the form select element and function that gets called:
PHP Code:
my form:
[code]....
Seems like I need to somehow change the onchange even to allow multiple selects before submitting or somehow gather and pass each selection within the javascript? Found a script like this but couldn't get it to work within my code:
This is for a test, am not sure what they mean by "do not hard-code the resulting quarter years in the javascript":
instructions: When a user selects a date from the investment cycle drop-down box, the subsequent investment values must display the next three fiscal quarters.
E.g:
Do not hard-code the resulting quarter years in the javascript. (empahsis mine...;-)
The subsequent quarters should be presented with checkboxes which are all unchecked.
Checkboxes in markup:
The values to populate the checkboxes (value and label) have to be hardcoded somewhere, no? what am I missing?
I have searched and found lots on enabling/disabling form inputs, but nothing that matches my needs.
I have a form with a dropdown with values 0-4. If value 0 is selected I want the checkboxes to be disabled. If value 1-4 is selected I want the checkboxes to be enabled.
Code: <html> <head><title>Disable with Dropdown Test</title> <script> function num_check(sel,cb) {
I actually want to make a horizontal drop down menu with a sub menu.As far as I have researched, I think that it can be done by JavaScript. I have searched for some java scripts but they are very long and complex.
That made me wonder that for a funcitonality like a Drop down is so complex?
So here is my question : Is there any JavaScript that can be applied for drop down menu exclusively? Which just presents logic of drop down solely?
Ive searched this forum for a simple solution to this. I want have a drop down of countries. Only if USA is selected, it shows states, otherwise it is hidden. I have a function which is 'trying' to write the state dropdown to an empty span.
I've got a table that I want to be able to show/hide rows based on what check box is checked. By default, I don't want anything displayed, then if you check a or some of the check boxes you'll see the data.Here is what I have, which has some effect in FF but does not work at all in IE.This is my script (which is part mine, part web-found)
im trying to do a single html page with multiple checkboxes to hide/show text when checked/unchecked. I'm really bad at html but so far I have got this: The problem I have is I dont know how to add more checkboxes.
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html> <head> <title>101st</title>
I'd like to ask a user to choose from one of two radio buttons. The first radio button will show three checkboxes. The second radio button does nothing.How do I do this?
I have three radio buttons, and when a certain radio is selected I want to show a series of checkboxes. If the other two radio buttons are selected, I want to hide the checkboxes. I *think* the problem is that I am using the wrong syntax to call the click() function on the radio "name" attribute.
I use the mcDropdown menu pluginin my website , but I have some trouble with it.In IE6 , some itemsdon't show when the mouse across there. In IE7,my trouble is that Iwant to layoutthree menus to occupy the same horizontal plane, but each one takes up a different line. Who can help me ? What can I do for this trouble?
I have a dropdown menu thats pull value from MySQL. Now i want to query the selected value from dd menu so then it will display a list that match with it in database without submit the page. Do i have to use onChange function and how?
I am using a system called CMS Made Simple which has a quotes feature. This will generate a quote randomly from a MySQL database. To refer to this quote feature you have to use the {quote} tag which has a few parameters.
The parameter I am interested in is {quote group=""} because I want my users to be able to see a random quote from a group that they select through a dropdown list.
Which functions just fine. However the problem with this code is that I plan to have 65 different groups for the user to select from. When I have tried to do this the webpage has become very slow. I presume this is from loading 65 random quotes from a MySQL database in case the user selects the div - a very slow method which needs to be put on the backburner!
Essentially I would like only the first Div to load with the webpage and the others to load when they are selected in the dropdown list.
I realise other threads exist which are similar to this but they do not pass parameters in the same way and I also saw someone say to start your own thread rather than hijacking someone elses!
